How do we feel about not finishing with a perfect regular season record?

Now that we are here, after every week of wondering when that second loss would happen, how are we feeling that we didn’t complete a full undefeated season? It annoys me that people continue to award the dolphins this undefeated title, while adding more games, but I’m just curious what the rest of you think?

My opinion? Im a bit salty about it just because its something that can be added to the accolades and mahomes legacy, but a 3 peat would ease the pain tenfold.

loochy 12-28-2024 08:56 PM

Not too worried about it

FloridaMan88 12-28-2024 08:58 PM

A three peat is a nice consolation prize.

Bowser 12-28-2024 08:58 PM

Small price to pay for a legit shot to threepeat, imho.

Deberg_1990 12-28-2024 09:00 PM

Don’t give two sh*ts about it.

FlaChief58 12-28-2024 09:03 PM

I could not care less, tbh

ChiefsFan63 12-28-2024 09:03 PM

The only reason I would even care is to shut up the arrogant '72 Dolphins. Once they all finally die off and stop bring attention to themselves by popping champagne, no one will hardly remember them. I consider New England to have just as good a record even of they lost the Super Bowl. Undefeated isn't something I worry about. The Threepeat will live forever!

Hammock Parties 12-28-2024 09:11 PM

I'd rather be the first team to win 19 games.

Which isn't going to happen. So, the first team to win 18 games and a Super Bowl is good. Patriots were 18-1

JohnnyHammersticks 12-28-2024 09:18 PM

3-peat is all that matters.

But it does make me wonder if we sit starters against the Donks if we had a chance at a perfect record.Pretty sure Andy would still sit guys, which is the right move.

It's not like the 2nd-string guys have zero chance. Stranger things have happened. And if they happen next weekend against the Donks I would find it one of the most hilarious events in the history of the rivalry. Right up there with 16 straight. :D

mnchiefsguy 12-28-2024 09:20 PM

Would rather have the 3 peat...not even close.

DaFace 12-28-2024 09:20 PM

The injury succubus weakened players legs

Tribal Warfare 12-28-2024 09:24 PM

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Travis Kelce with the postgame clap. He knows the real test comes in January. Allen is 4-1 vs Mahomes in the regular season, Mahomes is 3-0 vs Allen in the playoffs. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ChiefsKingdom?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ChiefsKingdom</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/KCTV5?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@KCTV5</a> <a href="https://t.co/hlqwA6SqmJ">pic.twitter.com/hlqwA6SqmJ</a></p>&mdash; Jared Koller (@JaredKCTV5) <a href="https://twitter.com/JaredKCTV5/status/1858307879163355315?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 18, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Kelce's golfclap perfectly encapsulates the goal of the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs Football Team.

Womble 12-28-2024 09:25 PM

Don't care but we were literally a Josh Allen 4th down conversion away from doing it. Had he not converted it we would have drove down and scored a walk off field goal.

Rainbarrel 12-28-2024 09:26 PM

Josh Allen can't clap, Kelce knew in advance

KC_Connection 12-28-2024 09:28 PM

Great. Imagine how stupid it would have been to play Mahomes next week just to keep an undefeated season going instead of getting him much needed rest. I don’t know if Andy would have done it but there certainly would have been a ton of pressure to do so.

The only thing that matters is winning another SB.

The pressure would have been there to play the starters next week to keep the undefeated season. Broncos playing for their damn lives. We don't need a season ending injury or two playing against a desperate team in a meaningless game.

It really is too bad. Mahomes didn’t have that chance. We all know he would have won it. Maybe Karloftus took a bad angle. But it was Alan as Superman at his best.

But definitely a 3peat is far more important than an undefeated season.

Clyde Frog 12-28-2024 10:29 PM

How do we feel about not finishing with a perfect regular season record?

Irrelevant. Complete this 3peat and become the best dynasty of all time.

This also moves PM2 right next to pedo tom as the GOAT. If he gets one more SB after the potential 3 peat he will be the GOAT.

After all the injuries and close games with tough teams i feel ****ing amazing.

mschiefs1984 12-28-2024 10:51 PM

We lost 6 games last years

As long as the ending is the same who cares if we lost 1 game

Easy 6 12-28-2024 10:56 PM

Wouldn't want it any other way, the curse of "undefeated" is real in my book

UteChief 12-28-2024 11:43 PM

We ARE going to win 19 games.

Bump 12-29-2024 12:25 AM

no need for you to be salty, the Chiefs lost their 10th game so the extra game wouldn't have mattered in that regard.

The Bills' RG washed out Chris Jones to make that play happen

RaidersOftheCellar 12-29-2024 07:27 AM

I think it was a good plan myself. Removes the extra target on their backs.

Although it would’ve been cool if they were undefeated entering this week, sat starters and lost, then threepeated. They wouldn’t technically be undefeated, but the starters would be.

How do we feel about not finishing with a perfect regular season record?

That loss very directly increases our chances at a three peat as it means we sit next weekend and have an extended break while reducing the chances of injuries for a team that really needs the break. Thanks Bills!

Bearcat 12-29-2024 09:55 AM

Beat the Bills and they could have rested starters for the 2nd half of the Steelers game and all of the Broncos game... except in that case do you rest starters and do what's best for the 3 peat or do you keep guys in for this dumb side quest.

Yeah, in theory, a perfect season is nice... in reality, it would have to mean sticking to the plan and beating the Broncos with Wentz and backups, and it's nice to not discuss that for weeks straight, or for the Broncos to be the team that breaks it at the end of the season.

It's actually a bit surprising to me that a team like the Bills or Lions that love to run up the score on opponents hasn't gone undefeated in the regular season. Given all the cupcake schedules out there, it doesn't seem like a thing that can only happen once every few decades where a team is crazy motivated and gets a little luck in terms of injuries to get it done.... it doesn't really move the needle for me in terms of some crazy impressive accomplishment, I guess.

MeaTy The Pimp 12-29-2024 10:33 AM

Regarding the Undefeated season, I am fresh out of 'Give A ****'.

Winning the Lombardi is all that matters in the end.

How do I feel? After all those terrible years we went through honestly I’m just happy to see us winning like this.

IDGAF about a perfect record. I just wish 58 could be alive to see this and bang the drum.

Go Chiefs

tredadda 12-29-2024 10:47 AM

I am fine with them not getting it. They already have enough on their plates with trying to threepeat and with all the injuries. They didn’t need the additional stress of trying to go undefeated as well. Had they been 16-0 there would have been a strong possibility that they played starters next week and risking injury. I would rather them threepeat than become the 2007 Patriots.

wazu 12-29-2024 11:55 AM

Totally fine with it. If we were currently undefeated I would feel like we need to play starters Week 18 and be all-in on a perfect season. As it stands, having a single loss buys us the opportunity to rest players and get healthy so we can increase our odds of a threepeat.

Don't care about record as long as it gets homefield
advantage through the playoffs offs.
However the same team that kept Chiefs from perfect season could keep them from winning AFC.

teedubya 12-29-2024 01:10 PM

There would be too much stress on the players to perform perfectly...

Remember the regular season is just practice for the big dance.
