I enjoyed the first two, will watch this one at some point.

BigRichard 12-10-2024 01:01 PM

Cillian Murphy zombie... anyone catch that?

BigRichard 12-10-2024 01:09 PM

Why hasn't anyone thought to make one called "The 28 Days"(Maybe "In 28 Days") and that is the 28 days you don't get to see while Cillian Murphy is out. I think that could be the next one. End scene would be him waking up or something like that.

Ceej 12-10-2024 01:51 PM

**** YES! I'm so in.

I didn't love the second, but the first is one of my favorite "undead, zombie, plague" genre type movies.

ThaVirus 12-10-2024 04:54 PM

I liked the second one in its own way. The first 15 minutes are possibly the most exhilarating I’ve ever seen in a movie.

The rest of the movie certainly didn’t live up to that hype but I enjoys it enough. Low-key decent cast with a young Jeremy Renner and that hot nurse chick too.

TinyEvel 12-11-2024 05:47 PM

You cannot stream 28 Days Later anywhere online.

You can only buy the DVD ($35 and up) or Blu-Ray ($80 and much more) used on ebay or similar.

BUT Sony is renewing the license (to, I believe, Disney+/Hulu) and it will be watchable in early 2025 ahead of the new film's release.

28 WEEKS Later is available all over streaming.

ThaVirus 12-11-2024 06:06 PM

That’s interesting. I didn’t even love 28 Days Later (thought Dawn of the Dead was way more enjoyable), but for some reason it’s one of like twenty physical movies I actually own.

And now that you mention it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen 28 Days available for streaming anywhere.

notorious 12-11-2024 06:23 PM

I’ve watched 28 days with my kids several times within the last 5 years. It has been available.

ThaVirus 12-11-2024 06:49 PM

Hmm, weird that I never ran into it.. then again, I wouldn’t look for it because I own it.

According to JustWatch.com it’s on Amazon Prime right now.

Brehs

It's not very often I get excited for a movie

BlackOp 12-12-2024 10:40 AM

**** yeah...Garland is writing it (director of Ex Machina/Annihilation) and Danny Boyle is directing.

Should be a winner...

George Liquor 12-12-2024 10:45 AM

Been waiting a looooooong time for this one. Saw Days in theaters on a date in high school and took the girl I was dating in 07 to see Weeks.

Can't believe its been 17 years.

Mr. Plow 12-12-2024 12:27 PM

Never watched any of these. What's the order? Need something to watch this weekend.

Just think the opposite of Star Wars starting with Episode IV.

This one is Days, Weeks, Years.

If you haven't seen 28 Days Later you are in for a treat if you like the zombie movies. One of the best ones out there. 28 Weeks Later... ehhh... it is ok.

Well shit......

Here's why you can't watch 28 Days later

Quote:

There is disappointing news for anyone hoping to watch 28 Days Later at home. The film is not available on any streaming services or digital platforms at present and the physical media versions are currently out of print.

The reason comes down to the rights for 28 Days Later. The film was originally distributed by 20th Century Fox back in the day. This left the rights to Disney once the company acquired Fox in 2019, but things remained complicated when it came to bringing 28 Days Later to modern streaming platforms.

In 2024, Andrew MacDonald, a producer of the film, re-purchased the rights and sold them to Sony, but the film still hasn't been made available for streaming or digital purchase.

Disney owns the rights to the sequel, 28 Weeks Later, meaning that the film is available to stream on Hulu.

The lack of at-home watching options for 28 Days Later is particularly frustrating as anticipation builds for the June 2025 release of the threequel, 28 Years Later.

However, the good news is that Sony does plan to release the film on digital platforms... eventually.

A registration page appeared on Sony Pictures' website which allows fans to register their interest to be notified of when 28 Days Later will be available for pre-order on digital. The webpage stops short of revealing a date for the film's digital availability.

Given the appetite for the 28 Days Later franchise following the release of the 28 Years Later trailer, it's likely the film will be on digital sooner rather than later, and definitely before the third film's June 2025 release date.

Sony also has a long-standing partnership with Netflix (read more about Sony's other movies coming to streaming here), so there is a possibility that, if the streaming rights for 28 Days Later are cleaned up, the film could land there eventually too.

Some of the best music around too.

George Liquor 12-13-2024 08:02 PM

I have it on DVD somewhere, that is if my wife didn't sell it in the last garage sell we had.

Really want this to be good but apparently they did the thing where they shot film 3 and film 4 back to back. Worries me...

That might actually be a good move...give consistency between them. Both the director and writer are some of the best in the game right now.

They get the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise...

BigRichard 12-16-2024 06:32 AM

Ehh... guess who they got to make the second movie though fellas? The director of The Marvels, Nia DaCosta. She is horrible.

The Critical Drinker really liked it too. He also had to eat a bit of crow on Wicked as well. He was making fun of it but he went and saw it and said it was pretty good for a musical.

So it’s funny, I must have bought this on iTunes years ago because I had it in my library all this time.

Just released the 2nd trailer. Probably pumped for this more than any other movie coming out this year. I love they used the Boots "poem" again but mixed it up a bit in the trailer.
