The Official RV and Motorhome Repository
Who has one?
The RV life is awesome. |
I'd love to have one, but I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to resist the temptations of attractive female hitchhikers.
|
2020 Brookstone. Love it, for now. They are just really expensive pieces of shit anymore.
|
Where’s Winnebago Man?
|
2023 Winnebago Travato 59k. Love it for just the wife and I.
|
BOOMERS!!!
|
We have a Mercedes Sprinter Winnebago 70c. Gets great mileage and is easy to drive.

AKA Annoying ****ing driver repository.

Nope. Always enjoyed going to the Big RV and Outdoor Fun Show though.
|
2019 30' Genesis 5th wheel Toy Hauler. Most of our camping involves taking sport quads to various sand dunes. Lately just got a 4 seater Razor.

Went the budget route and bought a 2013 28’ work play so I can haul my Honda pioneer and sons Honda 250ex. Got it for 9k in February and have a little over 1300 miles on it and 12 nights so far. It’s currently parked on my dad’s lake property for the summer. It doesn’t have a built in so I just bought a Wen 4800 inverter generator. Very pleased with it for the one night I’ve run it.
Just pulled home my buddies 32’ cougar. Holy ****ing shit it’s heavy compared to my little aerodynamic rig. |

We had one, but hardly used it. We want to buy another one in the next 5 years or so when we're close to retirement. Providing our heath doesn't go to hell between now and then.

Eventually I burned out on the show because it basically was the same thing every week. The buyers would joke about storage space and they'd debate about the kitchen size and they'd see how they fit into the shower. But I did enjoy seeing the RVs. |
Who are you guys using and how much is it for insurance?

We have a 22 aspen trail I think it is the 2910 bk??? This is similar
https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/202...RKS-5027885836 We take it out about 10 times a year plus 2 weeks during elk season. |
Boats and RVs are so costly, depreciate like crazy and are money pits.

Exactly right ours is a 22' that was barely used. Paid 21k so less than half of new. |
Love camping life. We purchased a used KZ Sportsmen Sportster Toy Hauler last year.
It’s a 18ft unit that is perfect to take out west to Utah/Colorado. Our favorite is area is Utah and we’ve done all the National Parks We take our small motorcycle out, do some camping and touring in BML land. The Capitol Reef area is our favorite because it’s so expansive and the crowds are not big. Last year we did a great ride through Cathedral Valley. It was a sunup to sundown ride that was just beautiful, rugged and breathtaking. https://images.ctfassets.net/0wjmk6w...&f=center&q=70 |

My dad started motor homing when I was probably 11 years old. We did the family vacation thing and as a kid it was pretty cool. He'd start driving and we'd all pass out in the back bed and then mom and dad would yell wake up and look! We's wake up and look out the window and go "cool" then we'd fall over like a prairie dog and fall back asleep. He drove up to the northwest and down the coast, up into Canada where we saw Huskie the Muskie and we camped on Lake Of The Woods, then he drove us all the way to Acapulco where he backed that thing up to the sea wall and we camped beach side. He drove that thing through Brownsville, Mexico City and then the mountains. Crazy times!
|
Here's my question about modern motor homing. With all the slide outs on most every motorhome you see these days is it still possible for some one to slip into and use the toilet and use it while going down the road? I mean if I have to stop for people to pee it's worthless.

An unwritten rule though is, don't drop a deuce in the camper, unless it's an emergency. No one wants to smell that for hours on end. |

My wife thinks she wants us to get a motorhome and just travel around. Sounds like a lot of work for me and then I'm not sure I want to hauling her all over the country while she rides shotgun having cocktails all the while. And then with all the illegals everywhere are RV campgrounds even safe these days? |
Probably telling on myself but my 1st Motor home had a wooden frame. Went to 5th wheels afterwards with Dodge diesel. 35 foot was too long. Haven't owned one in years now tho. Road memories are great tho.

Anybody ever take their rig to Arrowhead for a game? My brother did that once and we walked out to where they park the RVs to hang out before the game. I always thought that would be a fun way to go to a game. It'd be cool to get there the night before and then stay the night after the game but I don't know if they let you do a two night stay.
|
Waiting to go that route again.
|
I went to a Penn State vs Notre Dame homecoming game at Happy Valley in PA in late 80s or early 90s and never in my life had I seen so many RVs line up one after another.
They were all parked on a giant grass field for days. Somewhere around 12,000. It was an incredible site and all the owners would invite you in for a shot as you walked up and down the many rows. One cool experience. 103,000 at the game and light snow feel often. |
Going to work on an extended run fuel cap to pull fuel from an auxiliary tank for my generator. Anyone ever messed with one?

This thread needs more pics.

Nice! Ya, you really don't spend too much time in the bedroom, but some space in the bathroom is nice. Not for multiple people, just room to get dressed after a shower, etc. Still see pink on the shower floor! :D

Buddy of mine just arrived in Alaska yesterday. He pulled his Holiday House RV up the Alaskan highway, all the way from Miami. I"m jealous. Don't have time right now, but one day.

When I retire, I've been wanting to buy a used Airstream as a project, something that needs a little work, clean it up and redo the interior, then take it wherever the fish are for a year or two or three.
Plan B is to get a nice used Lance instead (been told by several buddies that Lance is the best bang for your buck). |

Watching the storm roll in on Hudson lake. Waiting for the Salina, ok fireworks. Primitive camping second weekend with the Wen generator.

Yeah, same. I found an Airstream on EBay once, 35-ft I think, for around $35,000. Some guy had the same dream, ripped out most of the interior, redid the wiring, then decided not to finish it and put it up for sale. So, the thing was mostly just the outer shell, plus wiring, and the original plumbing, of course. That was more than ten years ago, so way too early for me to think about pulling the trigger on that one, but that's basically what I'll be looking for in the future. |
I get the air stream allure but **** 35k for a gutted one?!

Enjoying unusually cool weather for the Tulsa area. 80* so we’re using the screen thing. My wife’s been drying to use this thing. Personally I don’t even care if we have it lol.

Whoops, missed this one, sorry bout that. Yeah, they're pricey, even used/gutted. Though I could be off on that figure by a few thousand, that was some time ago. In the low-30s is really what I remember. Thing is, Airstreams are lighter, better made, insulated and hold their value better than pretty much every other RV/camper out there. Like Toyota used to be, if that makes sense. |

We absolutely love where we camp, the town, and the people in it. Ours is set in a campground so it never moves. So that helps, but this cheap shit breaks. We're here every weekend we can, and it's most of them. The big thing to me are the awnings. The GF likes them out, which yeah, it definitely helps with keeping the camper cool. But wind. It don't take too much for a wind to get up under the awning and make it shake. The securing hardware can't be all that great for all that force. I've resolved myself to with her "you break it, you bought it". Meaning if she leaves it out and leaves for town, and the wind comes up and it breaks, she's paying to fix it. |
Quote:
We made the final tour before signing. After we had it about a month the GF noticed one of the windows didn't have a screen in one of the windows. ROFL. We generally don't open the windows anyway, so it's no big deal, but just funny. |
Curious about people with all seasons rigs. I know they get another layer over the windows. But how do they fare? Does this help in the summer? I primarily camp at the lake in the heat. Looking at selling my work and play for a 30’ toy hauler with 2x 13.5k ac and built in generator. There’s a non all season model that I like the layout for hauling toys better in. So kind of weighing my options.
|
We got one almost identical to this one below. It is a 2018 Cardinal 3456RL. I don't have any photos myself right now but the one we have is same color and everything.
We are supposed to stay at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach here in April. I am trying to figure out a way to get my UTV down there with me. They just don't allow double towing in NC or SC so I am SOL there. My truck has plenty of juice to pull it too but just not sure how I can do it. I know you can get Idaho Totes, which are like an extension of the frame instead of a trailer, but those are fairly pricey. I was trying to find some other option. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/6UpH1C2Iwwo/hqdefault.jpg |
Nice rig! I’ve thought about double towing I think it’s limited to 65’ for us truck and trailers.
Sounds like you need the wife to drive separate lol |

The truck before this one I think, me and the GF were going somewhere. She asked why I kept my book of cd's in there. I said if I ever wanted to listen to them. She says, you don't have a CD player. Damn if she wasn't right. |
