Had to look it up because it feels like Marcus Peters has been in the league for 20 years. He's only 30 years old.

The Franchise 11-27-2023 10:01 AM

You got juked out by Skyy Moore. You should probably retire.

Don't you mean more thugs? See you Christmas day where we give you a big L wrapped real nice for ya.

LoneWolf 11-27-2023 10:13 AM

Outscored 31-3 after the Chiefs woke up after indulging in the buffet at the Bellagio the night before, but "we got more dogs." The only thing the Raiders have more of than the Chiefs is DUIs, ex head coaches, and bowl cuts.

Sofa King 11-27-2023 10:13 AM

Glad we got something for him when we traded him. I certainly haven't missed him giving up big plays going for picks. He's Trevon Diggs with a bad attitude.

and a bunch of folks were butt hurt on here when we made the trade... never understood why they didn't see that he was the same then as he is today. Always about taking chances for making big plays and not doing his responsibility on defense or willing to make the tough tackle for the team. Smart move to trade him when we did.

Man there are some hot takes in that one.

Peters is a good example of a team knowing much better than the fans what they have in a player.

He was an all time elite ballhawk and turnover machine…but man he sure seemed like a piece of shit teammate who picks and chooses when he wants to try.

Probably could’ve been one of the best ever.

Rain Man 11-27-2023 10:56 AM

There's no mental toughness in that guy. He's why you ask in interviews, "Tell us about a time that you failed, and how you reacted."

Dunerdr 11-27-2023 11:05 AM

In his defense there was no reason to think Skyy was going to put a move on him.

Barely relevant at all. The data center I work at was moving the locker room a few weeks ago to another bigger room. I haven't used the combination lock they issued in probably 6 years or so. The label I stuck on the bottom for a cheat sheet is Peters, West, Ware(22,35,32?). I remember at some point updating it from Mcluster to Peters thinking this was a new era to be ushered in.

Eleazar 11-27-2023 11:29 AM

Yeah, that Moore first down play should have been a 1-2 yard gain, it's not like Moore put a great move on him. Just a slight shake and Peters 2-hand touches him

Rainbarrel 11-27-2023 11:37 AM

He juked him, period. If Peters tackles him the posts would have flown on here about how he can't get YAC especially against Peters... I don't understand the negative comments when players on our favorite team have productive plays. Beat them up when they struggle, fine... continue to brow beat them when they have some positive plays seems weird. Same with CEH, he has had a nice couple of games spelling for Pacheco. I don't want to see him get 30% of the carries, but his 2-3 a game have looked a whole lot better the last 3 games.

BossChief 11-27-2023 11:57 AM

What a shame

He had all the talent it takes to make a run at a hall of fame type career if he wasn’t such a cockbag.

When he pick 6d Manning and did the postgame interview of how he did it, I thought we had something truly special.

RIP Kansas City Thief

It looks great now but at that time the CB room took a big hit. It wasn't so much that Peters was gone as it was he got replaced by jack shit and that potentially cost them a Super Bowl.

Shit happens, though.

I really thought this guy had GOAT potential. I maintain that he actually was a great player for us despite giving up some big plays and half-assing in run supports sometimes.

Still, clearly he’s got some major issues.

Luckily he was able to leverage his insane talent into some major paydays because could you imagine this douche working in an office setting? Lol. Or even a warehouse, restaurant, etc. Imagine being this dude’s supervisor..

That's why I'm okay with the fact that the Chiefs didn't draft George Pickens. From reports I've seen, he's that same kind of person. It will inevitably cause issues with the team.

I've thought Moore has looked great that past few weeks. He doesn't get a ton of targets, but he does well with the targets he gets.

Even the little things, like switching the ball to the correct hand, has seemed effortless for him.

Rice, Moore, and Watson are probably our best three right now (and I think the snap-counts will prove that out), even with Rice and Watson struggling with some drops.

So sad that he was such a nutcase. He was defensive rookie of the year, a real ball hawk and great interceptor, but made business decisions on run support and eventually just went koo koo for cocoa puffs. If the dude had any self respect and any real love for his team mates, he could have been a hall of famer. Instead he'll just be remembered as a selfish, hotheaded dumbass who pissed away his career. Really a shame.

Kiimo 11-27-2023 05:45 PM

My hot take is that he has always sucked. He gets so many picks sure sure, yeah he's an interception waiting to happen but only because he baits the QB into throwing it, and most of the time it's for big gains but percentage wise he ends up with lots of interceptions. So he gets his but his teams lose. McDuffie is like the polar opposite of Peters. He has low interceptions and 5 forced fumbles. He's a winner, Peters is a loser.

Raiders Release Marcus Peters, Roderic Teamer After Week 12 Loss to Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders released veteran cornerback Marcus Peters and safety Roderic Teamer. on Monday, the team announced.
According to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez, Teamer was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI and speeding on Saturday.
The Athletic's Vic Tafur noted Peters was on pace to collect $1.5 million in bonuses from the team, which won't be paid out now. His departure also comes after he was benched midway through Las Vegas' 31-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Peters and head coach Antonio Pierce had a spirited conversation on the sideline during the game.

Pierce declined to provide any specifics on the matter in his postgame press conference and said only that it was a "coach's decision" not to play the two-time All-Pro in the second half.
The sideline exchange appears to be the straw that broke the camel's back. Tafur reported Sunday night the Raiders were expected to move on from Peters, who "was almost cut earlier this season."
The 30-year-old has seen his stock steadily slide since 2019, when he had five interceptions and an NFL-high three pick-sixes en rote to his third Pro Bowl nod. The torn ACL that wiped out his entire 2021 season has had a clear impact on his performance as well.
In 12 starts with the Raiders, Peters was allowing a 66.1 percent completion rate and a 103.2 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks, per Pro Football Reference. His missed tackle rate (20.4 percent) is also the seventh-highest in the league.
✨ Watch more top videos, highlights, and B/R original content
Peters might be able to land on his feet with a playoff contender before the season draws to a close thanks to his reputation. However, it wouldn't be surprising if his market is somewhat limited and teams prefer to wait until the offseason to give him another shot.
Meanwhile, Teamer recorded four tackles in six appearances this season. The 26-year-old had been placed on injured reserve on Oct. 18 after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 6 but was designated to return on Nov. 15.
Teamer was in his third season with the team.
