Our receivers look like they never got separation on any play.

Makes me more suspect heading into week 2.

InChiefsHeaven 09-10-2023 07:03 AM

I said it in the GDT, everyone looked a little off, even Patrick at times. Felt like there was frustration\desperation towards the end, and even Patrick (probably because of a lack of trust at this point) is missing guys who were open and choosing the wrong throw. I'm not worried about it, but it just seemed like an off night for our hero. WBF.

Is Kelce going to be okay for JAX? I assumed he'd be healed up by then. Hopefully he'll play.

I don’t know what you were watching.. Every pass they dropped they were wide open…

Bowser 09-10-2023 11:51 AM

Yeah, our guys were open. That wasn't the issue.

Kelce being out allowed the Lions to play way more press than they would have otherwise, that made it look like our guys were blanketed. The receivers had opportunities, but 8 drops.....

BIG_DADDY 09-10-2023 02:23 PM

I thought there was going to be a picture of Toms hot wife.

scho63 09-10-2023 03:18 PM

They were open about 10-15% of the time. The rest of the time they were blanketed. Watch the breakdown of the game.

Some of the biggest drops came on open plays by Toney but that was the exception.

Not Skyy Moore's drop and yes, Toney dropped two wide open but that wasn't the rule it was the exception.

Was was Mahomes constantly scrambling for a majority of his drop backs?

No doubt. I am glad the Jags won today quite frankly because if they would have lost they would have been more hungry for a win at home for their first game of the season than us IMO. But now all the pressure is on us not to go 0-2 which is good. But what is 'not good' is our offensive tackles and young WRs 'aren't as advertised' except for Ross and hopefully he will get more opportunity to show he is ready for 'prime time'.

How to tell us you didn't watch this video without telling us you didn't watch the video.

Don't know about 'majority,' but for a lot of them, yeah.

He'd drop back, hands would separate to throw, come back together because no one was open, go through his progression, then take off.

Our guys did get open sometimes, but yeah, especially in the first half, they were blanketed across the board a lot.

But some of that was just rust or not being quite on the right page. They'll sort a lot of that out as the season progresses. Not all of it though.

It'll be interesting to see how our WRs handle the next 8 or so weeks. hopefully they make progress quickly. NYJ is in 3 weeks.

Chris Meck 09-11-2023 05:56 AM

I think the video here in the OP should be required watching for all on CP.

The short-hand is that it was a somewhat perfect storm in which everything was just a tad off. Some of it was the dropsies, some of it was Mahomes either being impatient, or forcing throws, or being a little off with them. Some of it was what appear to be sloppy/incorrect routes.

Nothing there that appears to be a lack of ability, just several things slightly off and the result in real time can look ugly.

There was a 30 plus point offensive asswhooping available, KC just didn't do it.

There were guys open a LOT. There were also a lot of drops, and a lot of route mistakes, but Patrick missed a lot of things, too.
