I genuinely don't understand being a pessimist in the Mahomes era
Look, tonight's game was a bad stinky loss, and this team has some work to do. No denying that. But I don't understand the pessimism that some fans insist on expressing every time this team has an off night. I don't want Patrick Mahomes to have to put the team on his back, but he also did exactly that on one good leg to win it all last year... Shouldn't that make it a bit easier to relax and stay optimistic? Regular season losses just don't have the power to bum me out anymore, and I gotta say, it makes nights like tonight a lot easier. I highly recommend it!
Also, has anyone here tried the bread sticks from Papa John's? Great texture especially when they're slightly under baked. If you like your bread sticks to have any seasoning whatsoever, though, you probably won't like them. |
no one is being a pessimist we are being a pissedoffimist
|
The losses are so rare overreactions flow freely.
When you win 80 percent of your games failure seems like devastation. |

I'm trying the new grilled cheese dipping taco at Taco Bell tomorrow. Gonna get a couple of those and a Baja Blast.
I think pizza will be on the menu for Sunday. Carryout with breadsticks from Papa J's. Oh yeah, as SR says WBF! |
I'm not pessimistic. That loss just sucked and it had to be the worst receiver performance I've ever seen. The Chiefs will still win more games than they lose. Just roll with MVS, Rice and Watson for the majority of the snaps I guess.
That many drops has to be a freak thing, like it's not going to happen again at that rate and when Kelce's back then that will obviously be a major factor. That was really terrible though, holy ****. The rest of the team looked pretty good tbh, maybe not so much the running game. But the o-line was great, the defense was kinda good and bad, receivers seemed to be wide open in the middle all night but they only allowed 14 points and made some crucial 3rd down stops. Not having 2 out of your 3 superstars is always going to hurt but we could have overcame it if we didn't just see the worst receiving performance of all time. |

Carcosa, while I entirely agree with what you’re saying, I do have one question for you.. Why would one try Papa John’s breadsticks when Pizza Hut’s are still in existence? I’m fairly certain a diet containing only those sticks would result in a population of men rivaling that of our own, beloved, chiefsplanetdotcom- 6’4, 250 (solid muscle, naturally) with an 11x11 trouser snake
|
The team wasn’t crisp, it’s rare from a Reid/Mahomes team. They’ll figure it out. Next week they may rape face.
|
There's nothing crazy about asking if we can win the SB with this WR group.
The team bet heavily on several guys with major questions surrounding them, at the expense of all the possible free agent and trade acquisitions. This is a passing league, and if we don't have pass catchers beyond our still legitimately great 34-year old TE, we could be in a difficult position. |

They all made fun of us, in fact, after our joyous reactions to the 41-14 and 42-27 wins, I want our fanbase to get to that point. |
I'm still happy as a clam, in my opinion.

I will say that I have a bad feeling about Skyy, specifically. But overall this team has a habit of putting it all together by the end of the season and I don't expect it to be any different this time around. I guess I'm mostly just advocating for a more meditative approach to the regular season lol. Take it or leave it And take OUT those PJ b-sticks!! |
We lost by only 1 point without our 2nd and 3rd best players and our wrs playing like shit. Our WRs are going to be better and Kelce will be back next week with a couple of extra days off. We still have the best head coach and Quarterback in the NFL. The only thing that’s off the board is 20-0 but we can do that next season.

Postseason appearances are guaranteed during the Mahomes era. The path might look different this year, but Andy's paths have never been the same. |

Really I'm more mad at myself for the number of calories I consumed today than I am at the Chiefs WRs for puking all over their own dicks. I just really like pairing football with junk food!! |
Kadarius would've caught everything if he had PJ's breadsticks before the game IMHO

Haven't had Papa Johns in a long time, but I prefer the garlic parmesan breadsticks.
|
I like cheesy breadsticks. PJ, Pizza Slut and even Domino's all hits well.
Papa Murphys cheese bread hits it well. |
I bet the GDT was a load of fun in the 2nd half!
I'll never understand why people watch something they're so hellbent to be miserable about*, especially when we should all know by now how little it matters in terms of winning in the playoffs, but it's endlessly entertaining for the rest of us! I skipped through the 2nd half this morning and all I could do is laugh at the dropped passes by the time Toney dropped the one late.... there was a lot of bad football all around by two teams that kept saying no, you win this game... no, YOU win this game... It happens. *I'd be kinda pissed if I paid $500/ticket for it though. |
Yup, I agree.
Does anyone actually believe they will play like this all year? I don't. We all thought CJ was the big loss, then the D played well. I'm in a great mood. I get to go finish painting Jimmy Buffet today. |
I will agree with the header. I dont need to read any further.
Felt that way since the HOU playoff game. |
Expectations are a hell of a thing.
That was the only fun thing about the decade of darkness. Whatever. Winning is hard. Winning consistently is harder. Winning the Bowl is extraordinarily difficult. What we’ve been doing is off the charts like taking a normal Geiger counter into the core of Chernobyl. The advantage is we have the best QB to ever live. |
I was planning to set myself on fire today until I read this thread.
Thank you, sweetie. |

But of course none of those teams had Patrick Mahomes as their QB. Hopefully the Chiefs will win next weekend and it will be a non-factor. |
Its pretty easy to see why we as fans are pissed and annoyed.
This same shit happened to Tom Brady, Draft Capital spent on defense, weapons slowly diminish. "Oh we got Mahomes he will make it work" |
lol I saw on facebook a post by a chief's fan group that was like "Miss OBJ yet?"
lmao |

Are the breadsticks better than Olive Garden? Sometimes I will just order the breadsticks and tell them the rest of the food is shitty.

Big difference between being a pessimist, and expressing exasperation at a particular give away loss by confounding play calling on critical plays and a series of drops by receivers who also couldn't get open most of the game.
It doesn't mean people don't still think Andy is a great coach or Veach is a solid GM or the team is destined to have a losing record. |
A little adversity isn’t a bad thing. Pat being embarrassed last night tells me the Jags should prepare thy anus.
|
I doubt we win a game again.
We're just the worst and undeserving of love or affection. |
Arguably the roster is on par with what Mahomes had to work with in his first ever regular season start against Denver.
|
Chiefs were sposed to go 20-0!! Dammitt!!
