anyone else? Perkins had some nice melts back in the day. Their sourdough was good shit - basically all the Perkins baked goods were good. Surprisingly super good snickerdoodles.

Grilled cheese sliders.
Use the pack of Hawaiian rolls. Cut them in half down the middle (don’t separate into individual rolls). Mayo spread on the inner side of the top and bottom. Seared in the skillet. Cook your beef and put on one half of the seared rolls (you put the inside that you seared on the outside, so the meat sits on what was the outside). Add cheese. Then put the other half of the roll (inside out like before). Press the entire thing down a bit to flatten. Bake in the oven to make it crispy then add whatever other condiments you want. Thank me later. |
Just go to hi boy my guy

Eh, tried it. Butter over mayo for me. You can't tell much of a difference of mayo on it's own, but put it up against butter on a side by side comparison and mayo is the subpar option imo. Side by side you can tell a slight eggyness with the mayo.
I don't like buttering the bread. I prefer to put the butter right on the cook top then bread on top of that. Adds a better texture and crunch to the bread without the butter ****ing with the bread and making it soggy with butter too much. |
Mayo on anything warm is gross. It's good on a cold cut sandwich though.
|
This actually isn’t a bad idea.
I’m going to try it on a grilled cheese when I get back from Alaska |
Gross. Yellow Mustard is good on things for smoking a long time though.
|
to be clear I don't mean put mayo on toast, I mean put mayo on bread and then toast on hot surface, skillet, flat-top

even if it's good, it still doesn't beat butter I bet.

Nah your mom knows better than to put that on a sandwich she’s making for me.

Also, whomever said add it to grilled cheese=Game. Changer. |
Butter for me.

Nothing replaces the taste of good melted butter.
|
I use it when I make grilled cheese or tuna melts.

As someone who generally finds mayo disgusting (though absolutely necessary for a BLT and it works well on a chicken sandwich), this just sounds like a terrible idea.
|
I watch a YouTube guy that swears if you use it as a binder on chicken for your rub it adds a lot. I haven’t done it but the food he kicks out is typically good.

just a thin layer is all you need and it doesn't taste like mayo at all |

if you have an immersion blender you can make homemade mayo in like 30 seconds which is much much better than anything you can get in the store |

Count me in with the butter brigade. Nothing against mayo...but buttered bread pretty much makes everything better (when toasted/grilled etc)
|
My wife recently started using Mayo for here chicken sandwiches. She coats the chicken breast in lite Mayo, then breads it, seasons it, and then puts it in the air fryer.
Ends up looking like this. https://natashaskitchen.com/wp-conte...Sandwich-7.jpg |

Basically can use mayo anywhere you use butter. Also works as an excellent binder in lieu of mustard or EVOO or whatever.
Oh, and try a small dollop in your scrambled eggs instead of milk/butter. |

Mix the mayo with a bit of siracha sauce and then grille the bread to kick it up a notch. |

Mayonnaise on one bun and mustard on the other. Then crisp them on the grill…it’s fantastic.

I saw a someone do this on Food Network a few years back. Might have been Alton Brown. Or maybe it was one of Ken Rollins' videos.
I like mayo but this never appealed to me. Maybe it's better than I expect. Kind of like Dipping French fries in mayo. Popular in Europe, but sounds odd. |
I've tried it and it works, but one of the best parts of a grilled cheese is the butter flavor and mayo completely misses that

Butter like normal, but sprinkle some parmesan cheese on it, not the stupid powder in a bottle you morons, real legit cheese that grownups eat. Delicious. |

Yes, mayo has been used when out of butter and did not notice a difference. Nothing to see here. Thank you Simply Red!

ya' know, spread onto dong, just dip it in or maybe even put it on a rag, use a special applicator, even try it with a toy. Slick fun!!

Hmm. I've found that whenever I need a strong sour cream flavor, GY provides more flavor for less product, a sharper 'sour cream' taste, and consistently draws more compliments, when topping nachos, baked potatoes, tacos, poppers, dips, etc. Never put it on a sammie though. |

And sometimes that GY tartness is too strong for what I'm trying to do, so there are times I blend it with regular sour cream to reduce its bite. |

Do we need a mustard thread? I feel like we've never discussed mustard.

A Texas Roadhouse opened here way back in like 2003ish - I went there one time for lunch and it was underwhelming - I got a lunch special t-bone. Then they closed down that location and reopened closer to me. Ate there twice so far, both times was very good and the value was great.
|
Never had Texas Roadhouse, I usually eat at Longhorn if I go to a steakhouse. Gotta have a loaded baked potato with it.

That's absolutely disgusting bud. Butter....

I prefer yellow and Dijon. Spicy overwhelms any other flavor.
I make Dipping sauces with yellow mustard as an ingredient. It kicks it. Dijon is for sandwiches and the like. Excellent flavor that is in the background. Mustard is great for your nails. No splitting or hang nails if it's consistently part of your diet. |
Mustard is the superior condiment. **** mayo.
