You can't rush the passer as much when the other team is ahead by 30, Frank.

Wisconsin_Chief 06-08-2023 01:03 PM

Man, that's lame.

Mecca 06-08-2023 01:04 PM

Neil Smith won 2 rings with the Chiefs?

Pretty worthless signing. He didn’t ever do anything until the playoffs and that team ain’t making the playoffs

Beat me to it.

Pitt Gorilla 06-08-2023 01:10 PM

His signing (and/or someone like Hopkins) would mean one less young/talented guy on the roster. I'm very good with this outcome.

BigRedChief 06-08-2023 01:10 PM

DJ went to the Broncos and Raiders

alpha_omega 06-08-2023 01:11 PM

Gonna be tough for "playoff Frank" to show up when there aren't going to be any playoff games for him.

Adieu Frank!

Mecca 06-08-2023 01:12 PM

We already have 5 DEs likely making the roster so it doesn't matter.

jjchieffan 06-08-2023 01:12 PM

I would say reverse Neil Smith actually. Smith never won a ring until he went to the Donks. Clark has never played for a cellar dwelling team until now.

This. Frank Clark is a playoff and Super Bowl winning KC hero. Look forward to seeing him in the Ring of Honor some day. Neil Smith can get ****ed.

In my own defense, I did call out that it was a terrible comparison. That said, any time I see a player go from KC to Denver, Neil Smith is the default that comes to mind.

DaFace 06-08-2023 01:20 PM

Well, it's obvious where his priorities lie. He's gotten his rings, so I can't blame him, but I can't imagine anyone going to Denver to try and win another one.

Dante84 06-08-2023 01:20 PM

Initial thoughts:

1 - Good for Frank, no one else was going to give him $5.5M guaranteed.
2 - Thank you for the fun memories!
3 - Playoff Frank will not be a thing this year, as the Broncos will not make the playoffs
4 - Regular season Frank will be a thing, as he seemed to have conditioning issues in KC, so assuming this remains a constant, his conditioning will be noticably worse a mile higher in altitude.
5 - I wish him luck in every game except for the two against KC, when I hope his stomach acts up for the day.

His priorities? Pretty sure he wanted to play for the Chiefs again, and they released him. Never heard anything that indicated the Chiefs were serious about bringing him back on a cheaper deal, either.

Zach Allen is much much MUCH better than Frank Clark. Randy Gregory, if/when he's healthy, will be much much MUCH better than Frank Clark.

Jonathan Harris sucks - he's better than Frank Clark. Nick Bonitto is one-dimensional and eminently forgettable but STILL better than Frank Clark. Baron Browning is mostly a meme that demonstrates how reeruned Quesadilla Joe is and he's a better player than Frank Clark.

Frank Clark is a lazy, worthless pile of shit who's done nothing but be the beneficiary of an incredible QB who's given him opportunities to rush the passer and the leagues premier DT who's made those opportunities viable.

He's like, the 5th best edge player on a team that has pretty much ass at edge.

If that puddle of dried smegma actually shows up for the two games against the Chiefs - since he pretty much decides he actually feels like playing for about 15% of his contract - can y'all just finally admit he's a lazy drunk who's content to cash his checks and get arrested?

FloridaMan88 06-08-2023 01:36 PM

Well with Burton and now Frank Clark, Denver is definitely a threat…

To finish third in the AFC West ahead of the QB-less Raiders.

Because why wouldn't we give $5 million to a guy who was outplayed by Carlos Dunlap?

The only people who think he's worth that were the Shart nuthuggers and the Broncos idiot GM.

$5.5m is nothing. His cap hits were $13.2m last year, and $25.8m the year before that. KC's dead cap this year from cutting Clark is more than that.

He’s not worth 5.5mm given what comparable players are getting. The market’s the market.

Just because he was on sweetheart deals and dramatically overpaid for several years doesn’t mean that people should feel like 5.5mm is some bargain price.

I’m happy he’s gone but wish the dude luck. I loved his swagger and he made being a Chiefs fan more fun.

Oh, I don’t know . . .

4 years in KC, 12 playoff games, 10.5 playoff sacks, 32 tackles, 14 TFLs, and 14 QB hits.

More production in the playoffs than the next 5 Chiefs combined.
