I know Reid will never get rid of him, but he's the most overrated coach I've ever seen. Every game has some kind of special teams gaffe, and it's been that way for way for several years.

So he’s to blame for Butker’s FG and XP misses?

The dude consistently ranks as a top special teams coordinator. I realize the guy isn’t perfect and there are things I’d do different if I were in his shoes, but you have to compare him against other coordinators. And the grass is most certainly not always greener.

How are those ranked? I'd bet he gets ranked so high just based on name recognition.

Like I'd say right now the only good part of our special teams is Townsend. Other than that, we're not kicking the ball well, our punt and kick returns are usually ass.

I'm glad someone else said it! I've felt this way for a while! He's definitely to blame for sending Moore out to return kicks! I realize that it's not his fault that we have Butlicker as our kicker but come on....any idiot can see that he's definitely not AUTOMATIC when it comes to extra points when he should be! Not to mention his missed field goal attempts! I was glad we had the replacement kickers for a while! Even if one of them cost us the game! Butlicker has cost us at least 4 points per game in the past! We won those games thanks to the offe! You know it's true!

You do realize there are more aspects to special teams than just coverage right? I believe he's referring to Butlickers miss field goals and extra points! If anyone else would've missed than he'd be crucified but he's not by all the ball washers on here! He definitely responsible for putting Moore out there with little to no experience and expecting good things to happen. I realize that he's not responsible for Butlicker as he's the only kicker on the team currently!

First, I posted Toub's rankings amongst special teams coordinators. What about their methodology do you disagree with? What coordinator do you think is available that would do a better job? I await your responses.

Second, you literally said you preferred our back-up kickers this season to Butker. That may be the stupidest thing ever posted on this site.

When’s the last time you’ve seen a opposing team Return a punt or a kickoff for a TD?? Those are game changers. Coverages is what Toub does well on.

I saw a next gen stats a few weeks ago where they ranked all the ST coordinators on a +/- scale with -1.5 being the worst and 1.5 being the best (zero obviously league average). Toub was a +1.29.

Outside of in the moment anger, no, I don't think he's all that bad, but I also don't think he's the GOAT ST coordinator as some like to crown him. Had the benefit of a to be HOF in Hester returning kicks the vast majority of the time in Chicago and while the blocking definitely helped some the kicks he'd break with the tiniest of creases were all him.

But you know damned well that's not even close to the stupidest thing we've seen someone post on here. We had a whole thread of dipshit posts last season, starting with "never going to sniff the playoffs," or whatever that gem was.

Wait, wait, wait...extra points are automatic? I believe they moved the extra point back a few yards from the old days.

Main thing that drives me nuts with Toub is him having teams that year after year, will refuse to take a touchback. And then when they don't take the touchback, it feels like at least a 50% shot they will get a penalty, after not running it to even the 20. Like we just have to make everything as difficult for Mahomes as we possibly can at all times.

What a stupid thread
