Oh **** yea
|
Oh wow.
I’ve heard of him. Let’s go. |
This piece of shit any good?
|
Who?
|
Uh....ok...
|
Kinda JAGgy numbers last year
|
Nani?!?
|
A 3rd rounder for this guy!?! He’s played what, like 3 games? Blah. I bet he has elite talent, but he’s been a cancer so far his career
|
Former first round pick that wanted out of NY after half a season. So far he misses more time than Sammy Watkins.
|
Is he any good?
|
Never heard of him.

For 3rd. I'm shocked. |
When healthy, the guy is a stud. Problem is...he hasn't been able to stay healthy. Seems like an overpay but lets see the conditional terms.
|
This is great. Ever since Watkins left I’ve been concerned we didn’t have any WR with hamstring issues.
|
He has 0 stats this year. I assume an injury?

hard to tell when the only pro QB you've played with is jones or whoever the F his backup is |
Some of y'all need to learn what "conditional" means.
|
He’s electric, but red flags galore. And that’s putting it mildly. Hope he works out because he CAN be awesome
|
Oh this is a guy I liked in the draft, his skillset is a good fit for the offense and Andy...
|
I like it . Building your future with young wide receivers!

So it's a kind of low risk, high potential kind of deal.
Alright, as long as you give him a try. |
My guess: our new punt returner
|
So do they actually mean the compensatory third? Because the way they're using conditional doesn't make much sense.
|
Interesting. Didn't see that one coming.
|
Anyone unfamiliar with Toney, flashed quite a bit in his rookie season. 189 yard performance against the Cowboys last season on a below average Giants passing attack. Talented for sure but has been injury prone- interesting pickup.
Wonder what the conditions of the 3rd are. |
Some background...

|
considering we have a ton of picks next year and he's on a rookie deal.. I'm all for this!
|
A punt returner so we don't have to worry about Skyy muffing any more punts?
|
Looking like a gadget player. 3rd seems awfully high.
|
The phrasing implies to me that the 3rd is conditional (and he'd have to be healthy and produce something) for that.

You're getting a guy who went in the 1st for basically nothing...also going to a winning team with an elite QB and HC tends to appease dudes.
|
Interesting I guess

Is he actually injury prone or was he just being a miserable **** because he wanted off the Giants?

I'm sure this is what you would be posting if the Broncos traded for Toney! |

When healthy this guy has shown flashes of being borderline elite. Never healthy, but still.

Veach is all over scouting WRs...so he knows about him. Must have liked what he saw..
He is next years Hardman...conditional 3rd rounder for a 23 year old WR that had a 1st round grade...seems like an educated risk if he meets the trade conditions...which I would assume is tied to his health/character concerns. Kind of a no lose deal... |
****ing Noice.
Toney can play. He's got some learning and growing up to do, but that's 3 cheap years in front of him at a pretty reasonable price point. He is, to me, what people thought Skyy would be. Oh, and he can return punts the instant he's healthy enough to step on the field. Though I think that almost certainly answers the Mecole Hardman question long-term. A LOT of what Hardman does, Toney would be able to do. |
Yeah, not sure this guy actually is all that injury prone given his behaviors outlined in the SI article. Seems more like he's purposely missing as much game time as possible. Now the question is why the **** he was doing that? Unhappy being on the Giants? Or just a bit of a dumbass in general?

Dude has a lot of talent, but sounds like there is some drama too... conditional 3rd and a 6th isn't bad if he produces, which he should be able to with Mahomes.
|
dumb to trade for him for a 3rd rounder
|
perfection
bring home that lombardi |
Print 'em.

I called it back in April. I keep all my receipts lol

They have to mean compensatory, right? |
Yeah don't like this deal
|
His talent level is insane if (very big if) he can stay healthy and motivated.
Im intrigued. A playmaker is a playmaker. I’m not entirely sure where he fits since we have so many speed guys. He does seem well suited to fill tyreeks role last year as a short pass catch and run guy. |
@TomPelissero: For clarity, both picks Kansas City sent to the #Giants are in 2023. And the third-rounder is not conditional.
|
He sucks

What I've seen so far is he has:
-Natural Hand Catching away from body -Jitter Bug like moves, very SHIFTY -And Elite acceleration |

Okay so, Andy Reid is going to get Toney open in space. And he will be fun to watch, if nothing else, when that happens.
Best case, I think he's WR Dante Hall with a bigger body. Fun to watch, not a world beater. 3 years of player control, he's only 23 years old, and is going to a great environment. He can get on board and ball, or get kicked to the curb. We had the picks to play with, so low-risk, high-reward. |
So you guys were right - it's one of our comp picks, not a conditional pick.
|
So if it is the compensatory 3rd and the 6th, yeah he kinda of needs to have impact this season. So better hope his injury issues are just him faking it and he can actually play. Even though that scenario isn't exactly a good endorsement on the kind of person he is.
This is a boom or bust deal. |
Not a big fan of this one, but I reckon I've been wrong before
|
I mean, I'll trust Veach and Reid, they obviously targeted the guy if they're willing to send that kind of compensation. Not a guy I would have moved on but then again I'm typing this from my phone as I sit here and scratch my sack, so I suppose they can have the benefit of the doubt.
|
Wow if the 3rd is not even conditional they must feel really good about a change of scenery for the guy.

So we’d have him for this year plus 2 more and 5th year option? Am I right?
I mean, if he works out, then it’s a great move. You likely won’t find this kind of talent in the third round. |
The Ryan Poles pick is not as good as people make it out to be. It’s basically a 4th.
This years Poles pick was Leo Chenal who was the 103rd pick. I don’t mind this trade as we have two 4th rd picks, one being for Tyreek Hill |

So for basically a 4th and 7th rounder.
|
Something tells me this dude is about to “get healthy.”
As DJ said, he’s immediately the PR. And dude is only 23 years old. Well worth what is essentially a 4th and a 7th. |
We traded our compensatory third-round pick that we received from Ryan Poles taking the GM job in Chicago. Still, this is a risky trade if he's a cancer in the locker room.
|
Oof. Okay, that's a bit stiff given all the shit that goes on with him. Hopefully we can mitigate some of that shit.
|
Andy will make this work just watch
