Star Wars: Andor
New trailer holy fuuuuck

Yeah, as much as I enjoy the Mandalorian, this shit looks amazing. Seems like a gritty espionage, political thriller where we can see how characters play both sides. Always enjoyed that part of Star Wars. Has the Rogue One aesthetic going on and it’s amazing.

The guy shown at the 7 second mark is carrying an AK.
I guess the Empire is attacking Ukraine. LMAO |

i have a feeling this is going to be stupidly political, like absolutely jam-packed with SJW nonsense, and i also have a feeling i won't ****ing care
|
This actually looks pretty awesome. I did like Rogue One for the most part.
Looks like DIsney spent a shit ton of money on it at least (finally putting all that baby Yoda merchandise profits to use I see) Love the dark gritty feel to it. |
Make it stop

Much like Strange New Worlds, I just hope they don't **** it up. But since that odious woke bitch Kennedy got her fangs pulled, they've been doing pretty good. |
woke me, daddy! woke me HARD!

I cannot STAND movies that are WHISPERING ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
I already hate this movie. |
its a tv show goof
|

TDS is a serious mental illness, (look at Joy Behar). It should be treated through shock therapy, not celebrated. Also, another ****in' prequel, seriously?!? "Oh no, Cassian looks like he's in real trouble this time, wait... didn't I see him die already?" |
So I took a look at the sticky in the Lounge...
I'd just like to clarify that the term Terminal Deceleration Syndrome (TDS) is commonly used for a wide range of medical findings—e.g., fractures, torn tissue, organ prolapse, rupture or tearing, etc.—which affects a person whose momentum in a particular direction was abruptly 'compromised'—e.g., jumps/falls from heights, impacts with other non-resilient stationary structures. Y'know a lot of Star Wars characters have their momentum abruptly compromised and that's a real problem, both physically and mentally, and it could be treated with shock therapy, (Joy Behar). |

So while I rank Rogue One right up there with the original, it didn't top that, because it's simply impossible to top. And of course, none of the numbered movies that came later even register. |

Hope they don't screw this up. Since Kennedy has been at least sidelined, maybe they can get back to their roots. |

I think it's terrible when Star Wars fanatics pirate their content rather than monetarily support it. Stealing from your favorite franchise and then claiming to be their biggest fan. So weird.
|
Anybody start this yet? First 3 episodes came out today.
I'm going to start it tonight. |
Seems like a lack of enthusiasm for this. Ill get to it eventually, I guess.
|
Watched all of the first 3 episodes. First 2 were solid, nothing special, but it really picks up in episode 3.
It's definitely better than Obi-Wan and Boba Fett. |
Oh shit, lost track of this. I'll give it a shot.
|
Oh I'll check it out and just tune out the bullshit
|
It's great. You know why? Disney didn't make it. Rogue One people did.

im diggin it

Finally got caught up on this. I really like it. Skarsgård is awesome in everything.
|
This is better than I thought it would be. After an OK start the last two episodes (#3 and #4) were compelling and very entertaining.
|
Episode 4 was awesome. Really wish this was released in one shot cause I want to keep watching.
|
Another Disney dud that is painstakingly slow to develop.

When does the quality start? Four episodes in and it's a snooze fest.

Maybe it's just not for you, but the consensus is that this is a quality show. |
I'm hooked.
|
Favreau, Filoni, and the writers for this show/Rogue One.
Now go do The Knights of the Old Republic. |
Star Wars: Andor
The Critical Drinker likes it so I’ll make time for it.
|
This show is fantastic
|
In the four episodes what has been fantastic? I have yet to see it but a lot of talking a little special effect but a lot of no action. Like a lot of this Disney channel, it will crawl along then the last episode will have some action, and SW's fans will call it brilliant.

And maybe we're grading on a curve here with other product Disney has put out lately regarding Star Wars and Marvel, Mandalorian excluded of course. But I'm liking it so far. They're doing a great job showing the Rebellion in its infancy, imo. |
Quote:
I never got into comics Marvel or any of the others. I read mad magazine and National Lampoon lol. So a lot of this is lost on me. |
I'm enjoying this show a lot.
First 3 episodes were slow building up the backstory but I think its moving along nicely. Its a grittier, believable and doesn't have campy bullshit (see Bobba Fett motorcycle gang). Great acting as well. |

I had to drag myself through an episode or two but now I'm glued to it. Can't wait for next week. |
It's the French Connection along time ago in a galaxy far far away.
|
I wonder if they'll keep this "three episode mini-series" thing up for the entire season? The director of the last three episodes, Susanna White, did an outstanding job.
|
Love this show. Easily one of the better Disney+ shows.
I fear that it's not getting the attention it deserves from audiences though. |
hey this show is pretty good i think
|
This show has been an unexpected slow burn, but it just works. Really liking it to this point.

The fact that it has 6 more episodes has me pretty damn excited. |
through 3.5 episodes
it's slow but it's ****ing amazing they're doing some incredible world building here the imperial security bureau, holy **** this is like star wars mission impossible/tinker tailor soldier spy shit they're really giving dumb space fantasy some ****ing GRAVITAS you love to see it! this isn't space fantasy, it's hard scifi |
Finally caught up on this. I’ve stayed out of the thread because I figured clay was dropping spoilers like a mother****er.
I really enjoy it. The acting is really good and nothing the production is doing is taking me out of it. I didn’t dig the jungle planet backstory a ton but I don’t hate it. I’m all about the on the run business. Because it feels like it has stakes. They’re doing a great job with the tone of the movie. One thing I heard that hadn’t really thought of before is this is a show made for adults. People are ****ing getting shot in the face, ****ing mowed down, crushed, all of it. And there isn’t a jar jar mother****er to be found. Or even a kid at all in the movie. That’s a bold step. If anyone listens to The Watch podcast, they interview Gilroy and it’s a pretty solid listen. Apparently he wrote them a letter and said: This is what you’re planning to do. Here’s why it won’t work. Here’s what you should not do. If you’re going to do it it needs to be done this way. And they went for it. Credit to KK, who has (rightfully) taken a mother****ing mountain of shit from this place, for making a good call. |

Fiona Shaw [Maarva] - OMG, . . . that is a thespian
And that 80s vibe on Niamos, expected Oh and 'Shoretroopers' - ROFL ROFL ROFL |
Man. Andor is THOROUGHLY good. Did not expect Disney to roll out my dream Star Wars series, but 7 episodes in and it's shaping up to be just that.
The Empire at its peak and it’s shadow looming over the day to day lives of everyone in the galaxy, the splintered lines of the rebellion, and seeing a collection of cold blooded murderers in the rebellion take on the empire who is represented by a dude with the demeanor of a middle manager at Best Buy hoping to transfer from Omaha to Austin (Episode 6), and yet, you’re glued to your seat and cheering for the rebels the whole time (potentially at the expense of the middle manager’s family!) I'm just loving every moment of this so far. |
Show is very good. Best they have done.
|
Snooze fest

seeing this dude give a speech just tickles me

Man - this is REALLY good.
And man, Stellan Skarsgard is so ****ing great. He brings such intensity and weight to any role. Though Diego Luna will always be Button from Open Range to me. |
Oh, and by the way, just remember that this is all a run up to his heroics in Rogue One that ultimately didn't mean ****-all until Mary Sue Skywalker showed up decades later and was 'all the Jedi' or whatever.
**** **** **** **** i hate that sequel trilogy so very much. It even ruins the good stuff from the spin-offs. |
mon mothma is so ****ing hot
