The teams that he spoke to had all agreed with the Texans on parameters for a trade prior.

RealSNR 03-18-2022 01:51 PM

It's hilarious how Watson thinks he's in charge.

"I will play for this team!"

Texans: "They're not paying up because they're the only market you've set up for yourself. We're not trading you for what they're offering."

"Then I just won't play!"

Texans: "Cool. Have fun holding out and dealing with the CBA rules, jackass."

AdolfOliverBush 03-18-2022 01:52 PM

Watson is all about the brown, apparently.

They’ll be good for like a year or 2 at the most. That team will fall apart faster than they can win anything of significance.

Hoover 03-18-2022 01:56 PM

This is good. That division with Watson, Burrow, and Jackson is pretty damn loaded. So I guess they are like the Big 10 of the NFL

Annnnnnnnd the NFL suspends him.

Sassy Squatch 03-18-2022 01:59 PM

3 first rounders and 2 additional picks.

dlphg9 03-18-2022 01:59 PM

Burrow
Watson
Tannehill
Herbert
Wilson

That’s a hell of a playoff gauntlet minus Tannehill. Bet they all get in this year

DRM08 03-18-2022 02:05 PM

This contract is going to screw the rest of the league. Think Joe Burrow, Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert, and others are going to sign for less guaranteed money than Watson? Nope! It’s the Kirk Cousins guaranteed contract all over again, but at a much steeper level.

1. I think it depends on the type of suspension.
2. Depends on the wording in his contract.

Sassy Squatch 03-18-2022 02:14 PM

The real kicker is they're almost guaranteed to not make the playoffs at least this year while Watson serves whatever suspension he gets.

i.e. Watson only cares about money at this point.

Athis 03-18-2022 02:19 PM

If he had gone to the Saints it would have hurt the Saints a little (draft, players) but it would have killed the Falcons (draft, players and MONEY for Ryan).. Isn't the asking price like 3 years of 1st rounds and multiple later rounds picks and players?

ChiefsCountry 03-18-2022 02:19 PM

Ironic thing about Watson going to Cleveland is the draft pick Houston used to get Watson, was from Cleveland.

I swear to Christ 50 years of “because Chiefs” has reerunned some of you permanently.

If the Chiefs didn’t have a QB like they did before Patrick Mahomes I would absolutely give that up to get a talented proven young QB.

You have zero chance without a QB

UChieffyBugger 03-18-2022 02:31 PM

I respect Watson's game and if the Browns keep Hunt and Chubb together they'll cause teams problems for sure. However we faced Watson with Hopkins, Fuller, Stills amd the run game was solid too. So it won't be nothing new really.

All this does is make the one seed more important and makes life way tougher for Burrow and Lamar which is nice.
