This will not work out the way they hope.

Whoa.

TambaBerry 03-08-2022 12:46 PM

afc west has to be the best division for qbs now damn

The Franchise 03-08-2022 12:46 PM

They had to have given up a decent amount. That top 10 pick this year for sure.

staylor26 03-08-2022 12:46 PM

LMAO

Far cry from Aaron Rodgers.

TLO 03-08-2022 12:46 PM

Wow

FloridaMan88 03-08-2022 12:47 PM

When you strike out on trying to get Aaron Rodgers and you have to settle for Russell Wilson instead... that's a shame.

TomBarndtsTwin 03-08-2022 12:47 PM

Smart move by the Donkos. Much better than going after Rodgers.

This makes them a playoff team.

Games will be fun again.

Wonder what they had to give up??

Have you watched Russell Wilson the last couple years?

In no way is this better for them.

stumppy 03-08-2022 12:48 PM

"Multiple first round picks"

Excellent eeexxxccceeeelent!

Red Dawg 03-08-2022 12:48 PM

Holy ****. This division is nuts. Mahomes just can't get the Brady and Manning treatment.

The NFC is trash. There is nothing over there but shit QB's.

RunKC 03-08-2022 12:48 PM

He turns 34 this year so he’s got plenty of time. He’s got 2 years left on his deal. $37 and $40 million cap hits tho idk how much Seattle pays in that.

Denver probably gave up a huge haul

god damn i wonder what all they gave up? probably enough to make that roster as shitty as the one he just left.

dlphg9 03-08-2022 12:49 PM

He's 33. Hopefully last year was the beginning of him starting his decline.

Titty Meat 03-08-2022 12:49 PM

Guess we will find out if Russ is cooked or not. Last couple of years he hasn't looked good IMVHO but that could be because of the shitty system Carroll runs.

Half of their team... almost literally.

All of the talk that Russell Wilson will be walking into a more talented/better team in Denver than what he had in Seattle... what will be remaining for him in Denver after the trade may not be much more of an upgrade from his surrounding talent in Seattle.

Denver doesn't have a WR or offensive weapon anything close to the likes of DJ Metcalf.

Base salary is $19 million this year and $22 million next year. So he either gets a new deal or the Seahawks just raped the Broncos since he's so cheap.

MahomesKnows 03-08-2022 12:50 PM

Chiefs will come out of the division more battle tested now.

stumppy 03-08-2022 12:50 PM

The doncos just moved from 4th place in the afc west all the way up to 3rd.

Chieftain 03-08-2022 12:51 PM

Damn. Very curious to know what they gave up. Has to be at least two firsts and an impact starter.

You’re absolutely clueless. Wilson has been pretty bad down the stretch the last 2 years.

The Franchise 03-08-2022 12:52 PM

I mean it's at least their top 10 this year and a first next year. I'm sure there's more.

Wtf are you talking about? He’s been really good playing for a defensive team that bases it’s offense entirely on running the damn ball.

And his OL has been among the worst in the league since 2015.

I bet he’s thrilled to get out of that shit hole

Russell Wilson has regressed each of the last 2 seasons down the stretch.

The Franchise 03-08-2022 12:54 PM

He'll get a better offensive line and RB group but his WRs are a wash at this point. Denver's defense is better but they could regress with a new DC.

siberian khatru 03-08-2022 12:54 PM

What was his problem in Seattle? Not enough money? Not enough talent at WR? O-Line wasn't good enough? Seems like a bad move for him personally.

Drew Lock headed to Seattle as part of the trade.

No offensive line and a coach that would rather run the ball 40 times a game.

Last year he busted a finger on his hand so I wouldn't get too excited about that, of course his numbers took a hit.

The winner of this trade is the Bills because the thing that sucks is the AFC West is going to be a bloodbath while the Bills are going to beat up on their division.

Wilson has been more similar to Ryan Tannehill than Aaron Rodgers the last 2 years.

He's not the same level of player. At all. He's not a genuine force multiplier.

Hammock Parties 03-08-2022 12:55 PM

4 touchdowns week 17 3 touchdowns week 18. That's not fading down the stretch. This is "only the chiefs can make good trade argument" that we've came to expect from some posters

Boxer_Chief 03-08-2022 12:58 PM

Teams don’t just trade an elite QB just because. He’s obviously hit some sort of wall or something that they’ve decided to trade him while there’s value. Look at the packers. They did everything in their power to get an unhappy QB back because it’s that important. Wilson is not the QB of 5 years ago.

Nobody said this is a bad trade you dumb ****.

We’re comparing Russell Wilson to Aaron Rodgers.

FloridaMan88 03-08-2022 12:58 PM

Russell Wilson without the Legion of Boom and Marshawn Lynch has been Matt Ryan-caliber okay/not elite at best.

KC_Connection 03-08-2022 12:58 PM

I’m interested to see how Wilson does in a different offense, but yes, he’s nowhere near the caliber of player Rodgers is. Broncos waited for ARod’s decision before making this deal for a reason.

Why? They can grab Malik Willis in the top 10 if they want and it's not like he has to start right away. Carroll isn't going to let Lock air it out 50 times a game.

Gary Cooper 03-08-2022 01:01 PM

Wilson is several years younger than Rodgers with much less baggage. I'd rather have Rodgers for a season or two but Denver probably thinks Wilson can play into his late 30's.

That said, I wouldn't mortgage my future just to make the playoffs or win the division.
