This literally brings me to tears. I'm thankful that she is no longer in pain and that she is now with her Lord and Savior, but this world is definitely worse off with her absence. She was an extra special lady who was constantly thinking of others. It takes an extraordinarily patient and accommodating person to put up with a house full of drunks, and she did that several times. She really was an awesome person, and so great to talk to. My heart aches for Joe, and I'll definitely be thinking of him and their family during this difficult time.

The last update I saw was that she had talked to him a few times and asked for her bible. I thought she was at least heading in the right direction. Such terrible news to hear. I'm so sorry Joe. I am praying for all of you.

That sucks, and especially right before the holidays. The good part is that she is no longer in any pain. Prayers sent during this challenging time.

This is so hard to read. Kathy welcomed so many of us to her home with generosity and kindness. I’ll never forget all the bashes, my first trip to KC. Huge spread of food and nothing asked in return except a collection jar for a charity Kathy worked with. Praying for your strength and peace Joe.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss, Joe. I obviously didn't know her as well as others, but she was sure a nice lady in our limited interactions.

I was with Joe when she passed on. It was the hardest decision he ever had to make to remove her from life support but she was suffering and is now at peace. His comfort comes from knowing she is in a far better place. No more pain and discomfort. She is dancing with the angels now.

I was honored to know her and while I'm glad she is at peace and out of pain there's an awfully big hole left on the Earth by her passing. I am so sorry to hear this Joe... you probably don't remember but I met you and your wife once. I came down and bought some fireworks and stayed for the game and ate some delicious food and drank some great beer. Losing those that we are close to is so hard and nothing I say can or will help. I just hope you can find some peace in this difficult time.

This is very sad to hear... prayers for the family. Such a hard decision to make at any time, but during this time of year it's so tough.
