Never had a problem with him and I think if he wouldn’t have lied we’d be sitting on 3 straight super bowl trophies right now. A shame some bored reporters that didn’t like that a team from flyover country was doing good and needed to try and stop that. A shame he couldn’t man up to the Hunt and apologize.

Fish 09-12-2021 09:03 PM

Props to the fan that pushed him back....

Chiefspants 09-12-2021 09:04 PM

You can tell these games mean a lot to him but he doesn’t seem to have any ill will towards us.

Blah. What could have been - damn it, Kareem.

RealSNR 09-12-2021 09:26 PM

So I've brought this up before, but... on the topic of what if Kareem Hunt weren't a ****ing dumbass who hangs around the wrong crowd and loves fighting random jabronis and kicking women...

What about his contract now? He would have needed an extension or a tag in order to keep playing with KC. Very likely that would have meant we couldn't have signed Reed this offseason. Or Thuney.

You give him that extension, we're even more up shit creek in terms of contracts next year and for SURE Mathieu is gone next season. You tag him and we're faced with the same pressure this year. You let him walk in either year and everybody ends up having their periods.

To me, the obvious money-sensible thing to keep this gravy train a chugging is to let him walk as soon as his rookie deal runs out, meaning he's gone after last season. But I know people would have lit themselves on fire over that, so...

Anyway... it's a headache we don't have to deal with. And the bottom line is he WAS a dumbass who can't be trusted, and if that woman-kicking situation didn't flare up very likely something else would have because the man just plain lacks brain cells.

In summary, Kareem Hunt can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Want another cookie?

There's a really wonderful zone where you as a Chiefs fan can view the totality of Kareem and feel very neutral toward him. It's lovely.

Mama Hip Rockets 09-12-2021 09:35 PM

How do people not have a problem with him? He acted like a jackwagon, got himself kicked off the team, and significantly weakened their Super Bowl chances. Legitimate chance he cost them at least one Super Bowl. Then, he comes in to Arrowhead and acts a fool and taunts the team/crowd every time he scores a 2-yard touchdown.

**** that guy.

Rain Man 09-12-2021 09:39 PM

Aside from all the off field stuff it's a real question, he'd probably be making Kamara or Aaron Jones money at this point.

He's kind of been a minor douche about it since then, but it's mostly just in reaction to media questions about it. He's not going out of his way to rag on KC or anything.

Yep. I was kind of begging the question even though I didn't ask one, but yeah. That's what I was trying to say. I would have been very much against paying Hunt that kind of cash.

We can't be paying RBs while Mahomes is making his mega millions. It's just not gonna work out.

Draft them every once in awhile and let them go. Then find more off the scrap heap somewhere.

I understand all of that, but I think the truth is that Hunt is more than likely an alcoholic.

That doesn't excuse his behavior at all, but even while in Cleveland, on his second chance, he couldn't stop getting in trouble when alcohol is involved.

I don't know if he went to rehab, or the team, or Kareem himself, is paying a sober companion, but I don't remember him getting into trouble for a while, so maybe he is turning the corner.

Ya. He should have just been cool in this case though and not show-boated considering what happened.

I always thought it's dumb to release a player like that when another team can just pick them up and use them against you. But at this point I'm not going to question Clark Hunt, he turned out to be a fantastic owner and has created a family atmosphere with the team in Kansas City.

We heard his true thoughts when he drunkenly lamented not being part of our playoff run during his DUI and getting caught in possession in that traffic stop as a Cleveland Brown.

Spoiler: he misses us badly.

This team would be a lot better if Hunt was still on it. Thats the honest truth. Too bad he had to be a huge dumbass off the field.

This offense was unstoppable 3yrs ago when he was on it. Chiefs miss a good solid running game. He's 10x the back CEH is. There I said it.

I'd love it of course. Realistically, could they keep him financially? Chances are, he'd put up monster numbers on this team and would ask for one of the highest RB contracts in the league. I doubt we'd re-sign him after his rookie contract.

Maybe Kareem knew that guy, they both looked like they were laughing about it and having a good time with it when he shoved him off the edge. I have no ill will towards Kareem, we threw him away and he found another opportunity somewhere else. I do wonder how much more dominant we would be with Kareem though, can't justify kicking people, especially women, when they're down though so just a tough situation all around. I wish him a good payday on his next contract.

He lied to the Chiefs Execs and coaches about his involvement with that girl. Character matters. This team is built with character guys. That's why Frank Clark will be on his way out next year. Felony weapons convictions will do that to you.

Character matters but if it was the only thing that did we wouldn’t have Hill or Clark. And no, Clark isn’t going anywhere. He gets pulled over with a gun in Missouri, he gets a pat on the back from the local cops. Just because you can’t even fart in California without getting a ticket doesn’t mean you should be kicked off the team. Domestic violence is another matter.

Of course we would like that. The reason we hate him is precisely because he was so good on the field, but he couldn't get his act together off of it.

Like I said earlier, he likely cost the Chiefs at least one Super Bowl with his jackassery. Not only could they have won the Super Bowl in 2018 if they didn't release him, but they also could have used last year's 1st round pick on a bigger need instead of drafting Clyde.

As good as the Chiefs have been the last few years, Kareem's buffoonery set them back in multiple ways.

IowaHawkeyeChief 09-13-2021 04:28 PM

Again, if we would have kept Hunt, there is no way Tyreek would have survived the next spring after that "alleged" abuse and recording came out... Chiefs had some credibility in their reasons to keep Hill and those came to be proven true. Clark Hunt would have had no capital to make that call if he had let Hunt stay on the team after the video. I wish Hunt wouldn't have ****ed up and was on this team, but don't act like we would still have Hill if we hadn't made the hard decision to part ways with Hunt...

Wallcrawler 09-13-2021 09:03 PM

Kareem Hunt is a fantastic football player on the field.

Kareem Hunt as a man, as a person, as a member of a civilized society, is the equivalent of al shit slinging primate.

Unfortunately, choosing to behave himself in such an unfathomably stupid manner cost the Chiefs huge in his final season.

He established through multiple altercations, that he simply could not be trusted or relied upon to not put the Chiefs in the same situation again.

We went to back to back superbowls without him, and we won one of them.

I dont miss him, I don't want him back on the team, the kid cost himself multiple championships because he's a ****ing idiot.

Score on us all you like, Kareem. Youre still going home a loser, without a championship ring in your trophy case.
