I had a call last week about season tickets, with the cheapest being $500/ seat. That doesn't sound like a terrible deal with MU and Kentucky both coming to town to play this year. I guess I'm just wondering if those seats would be any good at that price. Not that's there is really a bad seat in the house, but I'd at least want it to be a seat instead of just a GA ticket.
 |
I’m going to need to watch games this year with a roster open on my phone.

I imagine once the NCAA / FBI stuff is over KU will get more high-profile recruits but right now it's a lot of 4 stars we don't know too much about.
I fully anticipate a lot of KU fans seeing Cam Martin drain a 3 early on and immediately look up who he is. |

Well I think the important thing is the Supreme Court overtly invited further lawsuits with their ruling. I think if the NCAA goes overboard on their punishment KU will file suit the next day.
It might be in their best interest to give KU a slap on the wrist, especially since they don't technically have any evidence. In the past the NCAA didn't NEED evidence, they often punished programs based on what they believe went down. You start involving actual courts and welp be prepared to spend a lot of money and ultimately lose I guess. |

Besides, this ruling is after our alleged benefit occurred. A lawyer could help here but that’s like an ex post facto item that doesn’t apply to the rules in place. |

I was looking forward to a season without Marcus Garrett at the point, as I don’t think he was ever really suited to that role and it disrupted our offense.
But I’m not really confident we are any better at the 1 now. Going to be a long season. I see like an 8 or 9 seed in our future. |

The roster is much better than last year's. This team will put up a lot of points. |

WTF? Sarcasm?

DaJuan Harris looks fantastic at the point. And it will be Remy Martin getting the minutes and Harris back up minutes with Yesefu at spot duty. We can roll with a true point guard (ie Aaron Miles) when we want or a scoring PG (ie Frank Mason). We are looking to be a scoring machine next year. |
I guess this guy has no idea how good the guards are coming in.
Remy Martin, Yesufu and Pettiford are fantastic. The other guards are intriguing as well. |

I can't disagree there, especially with the injury.

Yeah, I was thinking our guards were going to rock.
|
Wouldn't it be insane if Cam Martin ended up being a stud?
|
It wouldn't be that surprising considering he was a stud at Missouri Southern under Coach Boschee (man that makes me feel old)
Dude is nearly 6'10 and shot 45% from 3 last season. He averaged 24.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 58% from the field and 81% from the free throw line in 2019-20. |
Looking forward to this years team.
Just hope we get to compete for the championship! |

I was curious as to who we might lose to the draft. ESPN's latest mock has only Ochai going as the second to last pick in the 2nd round.

I actually like WSU's new HC. Seems like a good dude. |

Nothing here yet about Jalen Wilson coming back?
Y'all are slippin'. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">He’s back <a href="https://twitter.com/thejalenwilson?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@thejalenwilson</a> x <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/KUbball?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#KUbball</a> <br><br>More ➝ <a href="https://t.co/DhdfH2u2YF">https://t.co/DhdfH2u2YF</a> <a href="https://t.co/ARZlQRGCxn">pic.twitter.com/ARZlQRGCxn</a></p>— Kansas Basketball (@KUHoops) <a href="https://twitter.com/KUHoops/status/1411046942151483393?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 2, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Wilson's return is massive. He hit a freshman wall last year but the talent is there. He'll also benefit a lot from not having to take on the primary scoring load.
|
Yesterday we got a commitment from a talented Top 50 kid Zuby Ejifor for 2022. Looks like he will be a productive college player. Good athlete, knows how to use his body already. I remember playing poker with his AAU coach a few years ago in Texas and he was telling me about him. I told him to have him pick Kansas. Looks like I did my part.

BWillie's existence finally pays off
|
We’re definitely going to be loaded this year. Top 3 team easily.
|
Optimism abounds, but might take a bit for everything to gel.
Inb4 BWillie calling "ceiling is a 4 seed, thinking 5 or 6" |
Quote:
This is going to be a #1 seed type team. If they can defend, look out. |
Quote:
Fans said that about the 2018 team - Devonte, Svi, Doke, Newman -and it turned out to be so. Very good scorers, meh defenders, Final Four. |
Quote:
I hope Yesefu takes almost all of Brauns minutes, thought.[ |
Quote:
Braun struggled last year but Self is going to give him 30/game and you can count on that. He’s the new Morningstar |

Jalen Coleman Lands played against Georges Niang and Denzel Valentine while they were in college. If that gives you any idea how old this guy is.
|
It’s hard to get too excited about final four or national title possibilities until seeing some teams in action. I expect a lot of solid teams when the dust settles after this free agency craziness.

Offseason topic. Top 5 Favorite KU Players Ever.
Not the best, just your favorite players to watch. I’ll go first. 1. Nick Collison 2. Frank Mason 3. Jacque Vaughn 4. Raef Lafrentz 5. Mario Chalmers |
Pitt St will player a tougher game against Kansas than MU will.
|
We're gonna be loaded but holy moly so is Kentucky. Rumor is that Kofi Cockburn is going there. They could practically have three platoons
|
Quote:
1. Chalmers probably. 2. Aldrich. 3. TRob/Tyshawn Taylor 4. Mason 5. Heinrich/Boschee. I’m open to the idea the 3 and 5 don’t work without the other. The guy who belongs on probably only my list is Travis Releford. Defensively he was awesome. It was truly great to watch the dude work. I love me some Releford. EDIT: Had to switch Vaughn for Mason. I cannot leave Mason off. |
Quote:
|
5. Joel Embiid because he made our collective jaws drop seemingly every time he touched the ball (tough to have him on this list as he was one and done but he was the most gifted KU player ever outside of Wilt?)
4. T-Rob for his emotional investment and physicality 3. Chalmers for winning us a natty and just being a monster on defense and offense 2. Frank Mason for being the toughest little basket getter of all time 1. Sherron Collins for being the absolute coldest blood killer (that 2010 team should have won it all and is still the loss that made me the saddest of all our heartbreaking losses). |
Quote:
2. Paul Pierce 3. Mario Chalmers 4. Jeff Withey 5. Thomas Robinson |
Quote:
Every year they are loaded with pure talent. You have to have top talent to win a championship in college BB but, if you don't jell as a team, your not going to win it all. Most of those Kentucky 5* recruit are only interested in their personal stats and getting up the draft board. |
I mean yeah except the times that they do gel and reach the championship.
I hate Kentucky with every fiber of my being and I hate their fans with the fire of a thousand suns. But there's no sense being delusional if Cockburn goes there they are a force to be reckoned with especially in March. |
Quote:
I would have to put Danny Manning #1. Carried the team four years to a championship. |

Kirk Hinrich, Raef LaFrentz are my 2 fave KU bball players of all time.
|
Some really good answers.
Frank Mason has gotten a lot of love, and deservedly so. He has one of the best stories in school history. Undersized and under recruited. Switches to Kansas and is probably the least exciting prospect in a loaded class: Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid, Brannen Greene, Wayne Selden, Conner Feankamp. Mason becomes not just the best college player from that class, but the best player in the country his senior year. Also, he may well be the point guard in school history. |
From what I’ve heard:
1. Cam is the best shooter in practice. 2. Remy isn’t there but told everyone he will arrive soon 3. The ISU transfer Lands can’t play. Won’t see the court 4. KJ Adams made like 1-30 threes at the first long range drill 5. Self told everyone he thinks Big Mac can be All-American 6. Nobody thinks Ochia is coming back That’s all I got for now. |
Quote:
Martin Yesufu Wilson Martin McCormack Major scoring pop in that lineup. |
Quote:
Cam Motha****** Martin is gonna lead the team in scoring. |
Marcus Carr anyone?
Sounds like KU is in his top 5 after he withdrew from the draft. |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Minnesota transfer Marcus Carr is considering the following programs, per his mentor Vidal Massiah:<br><br>Kansas<br>Texas<br>Louisville <br>Kentucky</p>— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1412082419365257221?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 5, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Someone on twitter said KU is interested in him for his defense
|
Agbaji is back. KU is gonna be absolutely stacked next season.
|
So much for PB’s insider info
|
Quote:
Now, looking forward to hearing about Remy Martin. But actually if we compared stats from last year... Coleman-Lands 32.8 MPG, 14.3 PPG, 2.5-6.4 3PT FG 40% Agbaji 33.7 MPG, 14.1 PPG, 2.6-6.9 3 PT FG 37.7% Agbaji doesn't do much except get a dunk here and there and shoot threes. Can't dribble. Can't really beat his defender one on one. Not a great passer but he is a good defender. Coleman-Lands actually might be LESS of a playmaker than Agbaji. He seems strictly like a shooter and gets to the line even less than Agbaji. Which is hard to do but he did shoot better from 3 than Agbaji on a team worse than KU. No reason to think his 3 PT FG efficiency won't go up at KU. |
Must’ve gotten bad feedback from the NBA
