Day 2: Best Available Picks Remaining in the Draft
NFL Draft 2021: Day 2's Best Available Prospects
AthlonSports.com - 3 hours ago Round One of the 2021 NFL Draft is in the books and it went, for the most part, as advertised. Quarterbacks and Alabama players dominated the night, and teams moved up and down the board to position themselves to be able to grab players in places that made the most sense from both a talent and value standpoint. Thanks to the run on quarterbacks, a handful of players who — in most other years — probably would have been first-round picks are now still on the board as we head into the second day of the NFL draft. Here are the best remaining players in the 2021 NFL Draft heading into Day 2. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame Some think Owusu-Koramoah is the best all-around football player in this draft class. He's a linebacker who can run with receivers and be effective against the run and as a pass rusher. He won the Butkus Award in 2020 as the nation's top player at his position. Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia Ojulari is a physical special who reminds some of Von Miller with his quickness off the edge. He's probably the pass rusher remaining in the draft. Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama Barmore has a lot of upside as an interior defender. He is an elite disrupter on the inside. His full skill set was on display when he dominated the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue Moore has elite speed and quickness that can help a team in both the passing game and on special teams. He likely lands as a prototypical slot receiver, but he has Tyreek Hill-like potential. Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas In what seems like a thin class at the offensive tackle position, Cosmi is one of the last NFL-ready players on the board at his position. He has experience protecting an improvising quarterback who moved around in the pocket quite a bit. That should makes him a nice fit for a handful of teams. Daviyon Nixon, DT, Iowa Nixon has arguably more upside than any player in the draft at the defensive tackle position. The track record of Iowa players who dominate in the trenches at the collegiate level helps make him a safe project pick. Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU Moehrig is a Bob Sanders-type of player who can change the identity of a secondary. He won the Thorpe Award in 2020 as college football's best defensive back. Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, LSU Marshall is the most complete prototypical wide receiver left on the board. From moving the chains to taking the top of a defense, he can do it all and could end up having the best career of any receiver in the class. Carlos Basham Jr., EDGE, Wake Forest Basham is a high-energy playmaker off the edge. He'll remind some of Dwight Freeney. He was able to become a star in college football despite playing on a mediocre Wake Forest team. Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama Moses is an NFL-ready, plug-and-play linebacker in any defense. He has great vision and sideline-to-sideline speed. He has household name potential depending on where he lands. — Written by J.P. Scott, who is part of the Athlon Contributor Network. Hard to believe JOK didn't go in the 1st.

To hear the conversations about guys like this and if it was a thought to trade up, what would it take? What is the discussion on why we should stay put and who might be there if we do. Who would we target to move up? I know we have these discussions here but how great would it be to hear the real deal! |
Veach two words...... Terrace Marshall
|
I doubt any of these guys are there when we pick but its nice to dream.

LOTS of good players left. Should be an exciting night.

If Marshall falls all the way to 58, I'd honestly be really hesitant to take him. That means his medicals are worse than anybody let on.

I’ve ran several mocks today & he is NEVER there. [emoji107] |
This would be the only guy I’d want Veach to trade up for. I expect him off the board in the first 5 picks tonight. Not worth losing picks for.

DE Carlos Basham Jr.
|
As I think about it more, if I were veach I think I may be trying to trade picks for 22 picks. With the number of guys expected to declare that draft should be considerably more valuable into the late rounds.

secretly hoping we can get Jabril Cox and Basham in the 2nd

A wide receiver with chronic foot issues?
When has that ever been bad for us in the past??? I'm a no on Terrace Marshall. There are plenty of other options at WR |
Dylan Moses should be there when we pick. He's more of a project but is worth consideration. Basham would be great opposite Clark as well.
|
Somebody might get a steal with Walker Little

Mahomes essentially had turf toe. Marshall broke his foot about a year after missing most of his senior HS season and part of his freshman year at LSU with a leg injury. |
Would both of our 2's + Ben Nieman and Nick Keizer be enough to move up to 33 and take JOK?

Brett Veach is feeling that old familiar tug. It's called addiction.
He fingers the coin in his pocket, nearly one year since he last fell off the wagon and traded up |

Seriously though, I would really consider both of our 2's + our 4th round comp pick for this kid. Or both 2's plus next year's 3rd. Future HOF'er imo. |

Chiefs picks 58 & 63 total 596. They can move up into the 30's doing that. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-V...RequestTeam=kc Rich Hill chart: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-V...RequestTeam=kc |

Veach will draft two starters with those pics |
I am fine trading up as long as we don't lose the other 2nd rounder

Tonight is the sweet spot in this draft. We could get two impact players tonight. I'd rather have 2 than 1. |

That’s why I don’t think Veach trades up unless he is in love with a player like he was with Mahomes. |
Tutu Atwell
Actually never heard of the guy. Just wanna bring a sign to Camarohead that reads “Don’t mess with our TuTu” |
Terrace Marshall Jr. Come on down!
