Schefter just tweeted it.

**** YEAH
OUR INTERIOR WOES BE OVER |
1) I scouted Thuney as a scouting student studying his 2018 film. He was a really, really good to great pass blocker based on my eval.
2) This seems awfully expensive still. |
After cutting two tackles and having nobody else at tackle but an unproven "rookie" who opted out I have to imagine they're still looking at a tackle, just not positive if that is Williams or not. Even if they just get Reiff that would seem to be a significantly upgraded left side of the line with LT Reiff and LG Thuney.

Here is the summary I wrote on Thuney based on film from 2018. So keep in mind he is probably even better now.

I really hope we are structuring the deal with Trent right now and this wasn’t option 2... |
Man I really hope we can still get Williams or this will feel a little disappointing
|
Contract probably has a big roster bonus next season..
I love it. He's played center right? And Tackle, Curious to know where they plan to plug him in. |
Finally! The Chiefs have a great left guard for the first since Waters retired.
|

Thuney/Chiefs deal is essentially-- $16m per year, 5 years, with some incentives in there, as well. So jizz now or edge til Williams??
|
Cool. But we need a LT so hopefully there is more to come.
|
I’d take Jason peters.
|
Allegretti move your ass to Center now!

Could we get a redo on the Super Bowl now plz??

HAVE THOSE BITCHASS BUCS PLAYERS GIVEN THEIR TWO CENTS YET SEEING AS THEY LOVE TO TALK ABOUT THE CHIEFS? LOL :D
WELCOME TO THE TEAM JOE |

Thuney will automatically improve the center and left tackle positions because he's just so freaking good, so it may not be necessary to go all in on Williams. Florio says 5 years, $80 million. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...l-with-chiefs/ |
I didn't see this coming
But judging from the anger from other fanbases we did well |
So I’m not as smart as some of you. But why did we pay a ton of money to a guard when we have glaring holes at 2 tackles and a center? I thought Allegreti was serviceable.

Quinn Meinerz |

Thuney is a stud...but Silverback is a future HOFer. If they sign both...that’s already an elite OL. |

This is a great signing. I’m just saying I really want Williams too. That would make this a HR offseason immediately. |
A 5 year deal means you can have a lower cap hit this year. Williams should still be in play.

That assumes we don’t even draft a starter. That’s damn solid. |
Could Thuney be our new C?

So right now the line is looking like:
LT: ? LG: Thuney C: ? RG: LDT RT: Niang Sign a LT and draft a center? |

Doesn't blow people off the ball. Thuney is awesome. Not sure hes worth $16m but whatever. |

Push the money around and sign Williams too.

Entirely possible the Chiefs felt they wouldn't be able to pry Williams away from the 49ers and quickly pivoted to Thuney.
Gotta trust Veach whatever it is and it's exciting to have a great player on the interior OL for the first time in forever. |

I'm telling ya, the Bears need draft picks in hopes to get Wilson, lets see if they would send us James Daniels for a 3rd or something.
Williams/Thuney/Daniels/Allegretti/Niang a boy can dream right? |
