2020 NBA Offseason Thread

Houston sports are bursting into flames. |
So the Thunder are pretty much the Browns of the NBA right now. They have like 13 first td picks the next 4 years
|
Man, Nets would be stacked.
|
Considering the Bucks just traded a ridiculous haul for a mediocre player in Jrue Holiday, I’m interested to see what exactly it would take the Nets or anybody else to make the trade for Harden. You have to think the Raptors would try to make a play after what they did with Kawhi but that price may be too steep.
|
First thanks for starting this thread I was about to post in one of the other NBA threads
A couple of big trades so far with CP3 going to the Suns and Pelicans sending Jrue Holiday to the Bucks. Bucks are going all in to keep Giannis. I personally don't think Jrue Holiday is worth half of this but what ever.

Besides the three future first-round picks going to New Orleans, there are also pick swaps included in the deal, per sources. All in all, this is shaping up to be a draft compensation package similar to New Orleans' deal for Anthony Davis with Lakers. https://t.co/HbnLxzUI96
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) November 17, 2020
 |
Thots and prayers to the strippers of Houston in these rough times.
|
Man. Harden wants out of Houston? After they dumped every meaningful player to build whatever that was around him?
I guess they still have Westbrook ROFL |

LeMelo Ball #1 overall?
Does this mean we have to keep hearing stupidity from LaVar for the next several years? |

Will our new GM, Daryl Morey, be brave enough to trade Ben Simmons for Harden?? Word is my Sixers are on his list along with the Nets. If we get him and pair Harden with Embiid it would be one hell of a show at the Wells Fargo Center next season that's for sure :D

Nevermind. Didn’t realize Westbrook wants out too. ROFL |
Let’s go, boys! Just about game time!
|
The Bulls offered Wendell Carter Jr and the 4 pick to the Warriors for 2, that seems like a bad trade for the bulls.

Klay Thompson is injured again. Couldn't put weight on it.

Wiseman feature was impressive

So the first overall pick says hes not into basketball another top 5 pick wasnt even a starter for his college team LMAO NBA is a joke
|
Cole Anthony ball hogged in at UNC gonna drop to #20.
|
So if the Knicks could put something together to come up for Haliburton to pair with Topping that actually might give the fans hope.
|
Love Haliburton but he has a slow release. Struggles to get his own shot. AMAZING passer. Toolsy. All around player. Needs to utilize his athleticism better to create his own shot.
Obi bawling his ass off. Hard not to like the kid. Multiple year college player. I always go for those guys, but they usually get passed up by the high potential guys. |
Haliburton seems like a sweetie too and his dad seems cool as hell
|
Pels pick reminds me of ty lawson
|
****. Initial report is that GS thinks Klay tore his Achilles

Doke!!! Congrats big man!!

Trust the pRosas! Rubio back to Minnesota!
If there’s one thing the Timberwolves love it’s to keep crawling back to their exes. (Although seriously... amazing trade on Minnesota’s part) |

Cannot believe Udoka went 1st Rd and Dotson went undrafted. I would have thought it would have been the other way around. Doke did advance and improve soooo much this last year though. I don't know what happened but he automatically learned how to block shots and defend the perimeter. I imagine his conditioning had alot to do with that. But but but I thought Hudy was the god of strength and conditioning coaches? Once she left KU, his transformation started.

I just think Dotson is underrated. He's like a 3 inches taller Frank Mason. And I love Frank. Despite playing "at the rim" or just "under the rim" Dotson was super efficient at finishing. If he can get his 3point shot down, diamond in the rough. |

That’s the key difference. |

Mason shot upper 30s from three until his senior year. Dotson was a 36% 3FG as a freshman so I think he's better than 31% that was his sophomore year. Dotson is also a better FT shooter than Frank and FT shooting is usually a key indicator of being able to progress as a shooter as you age. Dotson also gets more steals than Mason. |
It's official Klay Thompson tore his achillies tendon.

Just speculation on my part but I’m guessing measurables guys got drafted, ball players didn’t. Dotson impresses with a ball in his hands not on a measurable sheet. |

It looks like the top end of the NBA will be much better than last. Nets, Clips, Lakers, Suns, Bucks, potentially Warriors all looking good. I'd love to see the Mavs add a bit more.

Presti is playing GM like 2K. I love it, though.

Giannis to the Lakers next year?

Kawhi Leonard. Complete diva.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George's treatment in Los Angeles reportedly rubbed some of their Clippers teammates the wrong way. According to a new report from The Athletic, the privileges granted to the Clippers' A-listers was enough to cause major chemistry issues in the locker room last season, which ended with an unceremonious early exit from the playoffs. The report states that George and Leonard were allowed to have their own security detail, bodyguards and personal trainers. They also had veto power over the team's practice schedule and travel times and several team members reportedly think Leonard flexed that ability and cancelled several practices over the season. Adding to that sense of separation, Leonard was allowed to live outside of Los Angeles. As has previously been reported, Leonard resides in San Diego, a full two hours from his home arena. In the report, teammates say that this exception made Leonard frequently late for team events and travel. For all this, the Clippers didn't even get the perk of having the pair act as public faces of the franchise. They were allowed to postpone their post-game conferences nearly a full hour after the game ended for treatment and workouts. In practice, this left their teammates to explain the game and defend the decisions made on the court. Perhaps the most damning accusation in the whole report is that Leonard and George were allowed to decide when and if they would play. Teammates believed the pair were allowed to decline playing time, sitting out entire games and even telling coaches in-game that they would not be subbed back in. “How do you ever build a strong team with that shit going on?” a team source told The Athletic. “I thought from the beginning, ‘We’re doomed. Kawhi wants too much special treatment.’” On the same day as The Athletic's report, a clip from an upcoming All the Smoke episode featuring Paul George was released, where he talked about what went wrong in Los Angeles last season. He accused former head coach Doc Rivers of scheming incorrectly for his game and not getting the most use out of players. "Doc was trying to play me as a Ray Allen or a JJ Redick, all pin-downs. I can do it, but that ain't my game," he said. "I need some flow. I need some mixes of pick and rolls. I need some post-ups. Just different touches." The full All the Smoke episode with George will be released on Dec. 10. New Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue is looking to fix these issues, and will reportedly deny George and Leonard of these privileges going forward. However, he also plans to make it clear that Leonard is the premier player on the team. The Athletic reports that Lue will "establish a clearer internal hierarchy" and ask the pair to "forgo certain requests or standards to set a better example for their teammates." https://www.complex.com/sports/2020/...emistry-issues |
