Gruden-
That is a guy who I hate, start liking, and then hate again. Come to think of it- I used to hate Madden when he was coaching but loved him when he was riding coast to coast in his RV and working the games. I still hope Gruden took the Faid gig to screw Al and "spawn of al". |
It's JON not John

Can't stand him. Awful in the booth and got a ring with Tony Ds team. Fraud of a coach.

I really like him and he actually makee the Raiders my second favorite team in the division.
Or should this be in the unpopular opinions thread. |
What a class act this guy is. one of the most entertaining people in pro football.
Do miss him in the tv booth. |

So he won a ring with Dungy's team. And yet HOF coach Tony Dungy couldn't win a ring with Tony Dungy's team. |

Jon Gruden is actually very good at what he does but his offense is stuck in the NFL of 20 years ago. I don’t mind him but he’s never going to beat the Chiefs the way he coaches.
|
Jon Gruden is not worth $10 Million a year. The guy only won a Super Bowl because Tony Dungy built that Buc's team. Just like how Barry Switzer did with the Cowboys after Jimmy left. There are no state taxes in Nevada. Gruden'$ RAIDER$!

Switzers team had already won Super Bowls BEFORE he got there, same with Seifert. |
I thought John Grudman was dead?
|
Unable to open the link but were his lips moving? If he was praising any players that is the kiss of death as those he praises most end up being traded lol.....

From all his time his rap has been he wants vets because he can’t get along with rookies and young guys. Being able to communicate is a far cry from effective coach. |

There is no coach I'd rather listen to than Gruden, the guy simply has.....IT. |

But why the **** are we talking about his TV presence as a pillar of his coaching. LOTS of mother****ers didn’t want to play for the guy. He had no time for you g guys (which is intergalactically stupid) and he almost killed Chris Simms. Glad he’s not here. There was a lot of TLJ about Gruden or Cowher before Reid. I’d have quit football. Gruden hasn’t been an unmitigated disaster, but the mitigating controls surrounding the disaster are tenuous at best. |

I think the guy is great, he has it going. |

I used to think that the Ubeja hate was unwarranted. But seeing him choose love for Gruden as his point to defend and continue to defend this morning, I can see it now. I mean, defend your opinion all you want. But to defend a Raider's coach on a Chiefs board is just asking for a fight.
|
Gruden can’t coach young players. Yeah, there are the rare exceptions, but for the most part he’s a flaming douche who can’t teach.
Derek Carr ain’t great, but Andy Reid could have taken him to the playoffs multiple times. He’s done it in the past with much less. Gruden wants a time machine and Rich Gannon to fall out of the sky, and it’s just not going to happen for him |

Love the old Planet reference! |

Way too much movement to play OURS, YOURS. Andy Reid coached who? |

Yeah if you are going to say Gruden won with Dungys team you should point out that the Raiders team Gruden built made it to the SB.
I think it’s a hoot Faiders are paying 10 mil a year. Don’t really care but I’m not forgiving Gruden for leaving MNF and sticking us with Booger. |
Personally I like Gruden as well as Mayock and eagerly await watching the draft they execute. Don't get me wrong ,I hate the Raiders but not as much as the Donkeys. They're gonna draft well again this year but big paydays are coming down the road with four 1st round picks the last two years.
Gruden is definitely entertaining especially when they're losing but hey, we got the GOAT now and watching them trying to catch us is just fun just like Denver. LOL. |
That was an interesting Gruden interview. Very different form most if not all of the ones he gave in 2019. Not sure what to make of that.
I always thought Gruden was a solid coach. I still think that he'll end up being successful with the Raiders. He got saddled with a bad team and a marginal QB, And then had to take some gambles on FAs that mostly didn't work out, but it won't surprise me at all if Mayock and Gruden make some solid picks in this year's draft, and start turning things around over there. Assuming they get rid of Carr, get some DBs, and a pass rusher, that is. Okay, he didn't get saddled with that team, he pretty much chose to become the HC of the Raiders, so he bought that team. The point being that he inherited a bad team with a lot of holes in it. The next two seasons are going to tell the story of whether Gruden is one of the better NFL coaches in the 21st century. |
