A.J. Bouye Might be cut

Bring him in for a look?

Kick the tires, at least.

Plenty of gas left in the tank.

He can show the youngsters the ropes.

GET IT DONE, VEEEEOTCH!!

Jags really signed a heavy contract with AJ. $15M per year. Would love to have him but we certainly can’t afford him if we keep Jones. Without jones, yeah sure.

There are going to be a ton of guys like this.

Chiefs just need to be patient let teams over pay in free agency and then see who's out there they can scoop up on a short term deal.

Highly agree. The strategy going forward with Mahomes', Clark's, and possibly Jones' massive deals has got to be a draft heavy approach with this philosophy to free agency

This.

Most guys like this are gonna chase the money before free agency. If you could get them super cheap relative to their ability? Ok, cool. But it’s not likely to be cheap enough when you consider our Jones dilemma..

Chris Meck 02-14-2020 12:46 PM

can't afford him.

Let guys like this eat up all the cap money, and bargain shop late.

dlphg9 02-14-2020 12:55 PM

Someone will massively overpay. I guarantee it won't be us.

comochiefsfan 02-14-2020 12:56 PM

I’d rather Veach sign someone not old, expensive and with a big ego.

So no Harris, no Bouye, and no Norman please.

Veteran players that wanna win is going to be a target market for this team....

St. Patty's Fire 02-14-2020 01:31 PM

If he wants to ring chase and take a 1 year deal I'd welcome this piece of shit with open arms

Rasputin 02-14-2020 01:35 PM

Patrick carved him up like a Jack 0 lantern

If that is the standard we're holding guys to then no CB is good enough lol.

MahiMike 02-14-2020 02:53 PM

Pass.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 02-14-2020 03:00 PM

Tony Jefferson safety from the Ravens just got cut. Him and Honey Badger are really close. Would be really good depth for Thornhill

I dont think we should sign him, but eh, who didnt Patrick carve up when healthy? Not really a fair dig at the guy.

That's like dogging a fighter that stepped into the ring with Tyson and got knocked out.

mnchiefsguy 02-14-2020 03:41 PM

Gonna want too much money I think.

Harris isn’t an ego guy.

He’s down to earth, went to college in Kansas and wants to play slot corner. He also hates losing and had nice things to say about us after recent matchups.

I honestly think he’s the guy that will be our reverse Neil Smith.

Fair enough.

Every time I think of old corners though I have nightmares about Darrelle Revis in 2017.

saphojunkie 02-14-2020 03:49 PM

I’m in the camp that doesn’t want to see us make a single
move in the first week of free agency. Let other teams blow up the cap and depress the market.

Then get 90% of the player for 30% of the cost.

RINGLEADER 02-14-2020 04:02 PM

I’d rather keep Breeland if we’re going to open up the pocketbook for a corner.

Easy 6 02-14-2020 04:10 PM

After getting all our studs signed, we’re gonna be scraping the bottom of the cap barrel... prolly gonna have to draft a LB

Titty Meat 02-14-2020 04:12 PM

Guys were not going to have to money to sign guys like Boyue

Mecca 02-14-2020 04:39 PM

Chris Harris has said a bunch of stuff that makes you think he'd like to play for the Chiefs, it's a matter of finding that money though.

He can come play here if he’ll take like $5-$6 million a season. I don’t want to pay him $11-$12 million a year.

TomBarndtsTwin 02-14-2020 05:02 PM

As many have already mentioned, the new strategy is pay your own key franchise guys, draft well and bargain shop in FA while also picking up some key veterans on the cheap looking to chase a ring. No more big splashy FA signings for a few years.

Get it done, Veach.

I would be on board with this but the cap number has to be right. He would have to take a pay cut to come here.

Couch-Potato 02-14-2020 07:35 PM

Norman, Bouye, maybe PP next? ...Vet CB market looking goo! Who wants to win a super bowl?

MightyMouse 02-14-2020 08:21 PM

Breeland was fine but replaceable. He has a ring and seems like the type of dude that would get paid and get complacent. Glad he was here and helped us win a super bowl but unless he wants to stay cheap then no please.
I would say no to fuller but his versatility and since we need a safety then I’d like to bring fuller in and he can play wherever.
I would draft Fulton in the first round. Can’t bank on a rookie but he is the type of guy that I think can still get plenty of snaps and be good enough.
I don’t want Harris for more than 9 a year.
I’d be looking at guys like Anthony Johnson or Ross cockrell.
I’d be plenty happy with ward, Johnson, Fulton, fuller, Fenton.
That is good enough and we can’t nor need to dream big when it comes to FA
