Chiefs add RB Mike Weber to practice squad
Really liked this guy during the draft. 5’10” 210 lbs and runs a 4.47. Has nice contact balance and good vision
I’d take him over Darrel Williams <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Chiefs</a> have signed former Ohio State RB Mike Weber to the practice squad. He was wearing No. 45 at practice. Undrafted rookie who spent time on the Cowboys practice squad this season.</p>— Matt Derrick (@mattderrick) <a href="https://twitter.com/mattderrick/status/1214992488898973696?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 8, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/B-rPWX5tzLQ" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

He's literally the size of Barry Sanders. Obviously not saying he's the 2.0 or anything.
Seems to have good vision, decent burst, good balance. Change of direction is pretty good. Would be nice to see him in action against NFL defensive fronts though. Did he play at all this year? |
Mike Webster?!!
Our center position is fixed!!! |

Why are we talking about a practice squad guy who won't help this team this season?

the rb carrousel in the nfl and especially this team makes me not even pay attention to the position anymore. but i think they’re doing it right. these guys are best used as mercenaries

2. The team is made up of coaches and players. 3. Players on the practice squad are an injury away from being added to the team. 4. We have to consider the future for the team and a practice squad player from this year might be a starter the following year. 5. But most importantly, waiting for the game on Sunday. |

And?

Good signing.
Most of the boxes check off on what the Chiefs look for in running backs. He comes from two good sources for running backs with Ohio State and the Dallas Cowboys. His stats were good at Ohio State. In 3 seasons of playing, Mike had 455 rushing attempts for 2,772 yards, 6.1 average, and 24 TDs. He had 54 catches for 297 yards. During the Dallas Cowboys preseason (2019), Weber played in 4 games and had 22 rushes for 54 yards and 5 catches for 28 yards. Not exceptional stats, but at least he was playing. Cowboys thought enough of him to keep him on their practice squad for the season. Also has the size and speed that Chiefs seem to like. Hopefully he gets paid $8,000 per week for PS and gets to watch the Chiefs win a Super Bowl from the sidelines. |
