Hope he can at least be a dependable player.

Lol

Bring in CJ Spiller for a look

Dante84 12-03-2019 01:16 PM

Jalil's got a little groin.

Skyy God 12-03-2019 01:26 PM

That's not a good sign re the Williams boys.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-03-2019 01:28 PM

I’d sign him if he looks anything like last year.

chiefforlife 12-03-2019 01:31 PM

CJ Anderson still out there? That guy can pick up a third and short and also big runs.

chiefzilla1501 12-03-2019 01:42 PM

I like the combo of shady and Darwin.

What we need is a power and short yardage back. Darrel Williams was kind of that guy. Not sure we have anyone I trust in our current rotation.

big nasty kcnut 12-03-2019 01:44 PM

Anthony sherman our short yard back.

ptlyon 12-03-2019 01:45 PM

Maulware BACK!

Hammock Parties 12-03-2019 01:45 PM

you know he wont fumble and he can run routes and catch the ball

sign him carl

Graystoke 12-03-2019 01:48 PM

This makes sense...yip

dlphg9 12-03-2019 01:49 PM

Just another guy to take touches away from Darwin.

DaFace 12-03-2019 01:51 PM

Nate Taylor floated that he'd checked in with Charcandrick West the other day, and he said he was keeping in shape. (Nothing about actually being contacted by the team, though.)

We can't roll with two RBs, one of whom is probably in his last year in the league.

jjchieffan 12-03-2019 01:58 PM

I didn't realize that Ware was available. Didn't he sign with Indy?

pugsnotdrugs19 12-03-2019 01:59 PM

If he’s even his 2018 self, that’s better than Darrel and probably Damien.

From his wiki page:

Quote:

On April 30, 2019, Ware signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He was placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list on August 2, 2019 after undergoing ankle surgery. He was released on September 20, 2019.

I thought Houston showed a real good blueprint with Hyde and Duke. Just as Cleveland has made it work with Chubb and kareem, and prior to that Chubb and Duke.

I don't want Darwin or mccoy getting more than 10 carries. Mccoy might be our more reliable pass pro guy while Darwin might be a great option where we can get him the ball in space. Ware would add a new dimension by adding some running between the tackles. Something we're badly needing right now. I could see this working.

Our problem with running between the tackles lies between the tackles.

Chief Northman 12-03-2019 02:14 PM

Love it....

Dante84 12-03-2019 02:15 PM

Ware caught that wizard ball Pat threw against the Ravens last year, right before or after the no-look pass.

is alex collis still an option?

What about that jag Elijah McGuire?

dirk digler 12-03-2019 02:31 PM

There has to be better RB options than washed up Ware.

luv 12-03-2019 02:33 PM

I didn't realize so many people here didn't like Ware.

tyton75 12-03-2019 02:35 PM

We need a 3rd RB, and preferably one that already knows how to pass block for Mahomes. The other guys can carry the ball as far as I'm concerned. Let him be a threat between the tackles and BLOCK.

TinyEvel 12-03-2019 02:36 PM

Charcandrick West Tweeted his retirement today

stevieray 12-03-2019 02:36 PM

why not?

Iconic 12-03-2019 02:42 PM

One thing I always liked about Ware was he was extremely consistent carry to carry. If he's anything like his old self this would be a key signing and make our rotation complete. I'm down.

stumppy 12-03-2019 02:42 PM

Great! A jag do over.:shake:

Mike in SW-MO 12-03-2019 02:48 PM

In the past, he had decent hands, good speed, adequate burst & vision. Not great wiggle to make guys miss.

If he is what he used to be, he should be an excellent pickup & an improvement over Darrel (sp?).

Depends on what fraction of his old self that he still retains.

Hog's Gone Fishin 12-03-2019 02:50 PM

Where does this thinking come from? This isn't the offseason. There aren't going to be many all stars sitting around at home right now - especially who already know the offense.

Wilson8 12-03-2019 03:00 PM

Spencer Ware played in 13 games for the Chiefs last season. He is 28 years old and has career stats of 40 games, 340 attempts for 1,580 yards rushing, 59 receptions for 676 yards receiving, and 13 total TDs. In 2016 when he started 14 games, he had 4 fumbles.

The Chiefs could have tried to keep him in the offseason and chose to let him move on with the Colts.

Spencer would know the team and the coaches and could join in the running back by committee group.

If KC needs another back, I guess sign him up,

My first thought was yeah, isn’t there someone more explosive out there?

But it’s late in the year and getting someone new schooled up enough might take a while... this will be a seamless deal, he can jump right in if needed

All in all, this is the best move to be made IMO

O.city 12-03-2019 03:05 PM

You aren't looking for or going to find a great RB on the street right now.

Ware knows the offense and can come in and step right in.

Wallcrawler 12-03-2019 03:08 PM

He knows the offense. Moreover, fresh legs.

Line Judge 12-03-2019 03:08 PM

Wilson8 12-03-2019 03:40 PM

He can't have #32 back though.

Well if they do sign him, maybe #38 or #39.

#20 - #29 all taken with #28 RB Abner Haynes - retired.
#30 - RB Elijah McGuire and CB Alex Brown (practice squad)
#31 - RB Darrel Williams
#32 - S Tyrann Mathieu
#33 - RB Stone Johnson - Retired #
#34 - RB Darwin Thompson
#35 - CB Charvarius Ward
#36 - RB Mack Lee Hill - Retired #
#37 - RB Joe Delaney - Not officially retired, but they have not been using it since Joe's passing.

NFL at one time used 40s numbers for RBs but now you see it being used for TEs, FBs, LBs, Safeties, and LS positions.

I dont think anyone disliked him at least not me but he suffered a devastating injury. What I heard was he lost his speed and affected his ability to get into the hole quickly not to mention power and drive. When he was cut I remember reading somewhere how bad his injury was. I guess the need to weigh whether he has something in the tank or bring up Elijah McGuire.
