Who do we ‘want’ to win Thursday Night’s game?

LAC @ OAK on Thursday Night Football.

Raiders have a better record (slightly), but we’ve beat them once already. And after beating the Packers, people are starting to talk about the Chargers getting hot down the stretch.

As much as I can’t actively root for them, I think I’m pulling for the Faid to beat Phyllis and his homeless bunch of buffoons...

Thoughts?

Tribal Warfare 11-06-2019 06:50 AM

Chargers, the Raider hate is too embedded in my psyche

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 11-06-2019 06:53 AM

This may be where one doesn't root for a team to win, but more for another team to lose to give us a strategic and tactical advantage.

*takes a deep breath, holds nose, and pushed the "Chargers Lose" button*

They will tie.

Scoreless tie would be nice.

KC-TBB 11-06-2019 07:09 AM

ROFLROFL A tie with both teams physically depleted would be nice.

InChiefsHeaven 11-06-2019 07:12 AM

Wow, a TNF game I might actually watch...

Hog's Gone Fishin 11-06-2019 07:13 AM

Ardon Key went to IR. Raiders are a draft away from being for real. Neither team is catching us as long as MVP is playing.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 11-06-2019 07:16 AM

The fade vs the rise, at mid-season? BOOM!

Dartgod 11-06-2019 07:16 AM

The game is in Oakland, so I'm rooting for the stadium to flood with raw sewage and Rivers and Carr come down with a nasty bout of diarrhea and vomiting from the e-coli that lasts the entire season.

InChiefsHeaven 11-06-2019 07:17 AM

Chiefs - 6-3
Raidurs - 4-4
Bolts - 4-5
Clowns - 3-6

I guess it really doesn't matter. We just need to keep winning now, no more AFC losses. Since I hate the Raiders, I guess I'd rather see them lose and then we kick the shit out of the Bolts next week.

wazu 11-06-2019 07:17 AM

Chargers loss is what I’m rooting for. They went 12-4 last year and have shown they can go on a run to compete for the division.

Coochie liquor 11-06-2019 07:20 AM

I’m only going with the Faders because we play the Sharters next and I don’t want them coming in on a roll. Hope they have a classic Sharters game where they should win, and then choke away the game in the last seconds.

tyreekthefreak 11-06-2019 07:23 AM

Chargers need to lose. Their defense is starting to jell which could cause us trouble down the road...

TEX 11-06-2019 07:33 AM

I want the Bolts to win b/c both would have 5 losses which would put both 2 games behind KC in the loss column. Must have the team closest in standings to the CHIEFS lose. In this case, that's the Faid.

That's my thought process on the subject.

How about a tie in the 4th quarter with 1 second left. Then the doncos team plane crashes into the stadium.

If we assume the Chiefs beat the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers at home and the Chargers on the road week after next then a Raiders defeat on Thursday night would secure the AFC West for the Chiefs. A Chargers loss doesn’t change the fact that they can’t catch us if we beat them in the two games we play then.

So we want the Raiders to lose.

I believe this is the correct answer.

Making me feel bad for E.Coli.

DJ's left nut 11-06-2019 08:39 AM

I'm rooting for Oakland.

Even if they end up a game up on the Chiefs by the time we play them, the Chiefs will take care of business there pretty easily, IMO. We still have 2 games vs. the Chargers and for some reason we tend to put up a yacker against them most years (even when we beat them, it's sometimes pretty ugly).

I'd rather go into that Chargers game before the bye with there being no real consequence to it one way or the other. Keeps us from having to really lean on Mahomes on that iffy field in Mexico City.

Raiders - I'm sick of the Chargers going on an 8-game winning streak every year. I want them to be done with their season by the time we play them.

Stupid ****ing Nagy/Bears. Had a chance to finish them.

FlaChief58 11-06-2019 09:55 AM

**** the gayturds

Ultimately it doesn't matter as long as we take care of our own business.

58-4ever 11-06-2019 10:39 AM

Hoping the Raiders win... 6 losses may put the Chargers away in terms of the division.... although I really think the Chargers will win by 17.

ThaVirus 11-06-2019 11:12 AM

Neither team winning is ideal. Chargers have been the better team lately so if they put it together I’d label them the bigger threat, but the Raiders have some players and it looks like they could be pretty close to turning a corner.

Without looking at their remaining schedules I’d say it’d probably be a bit preferential for the Raiders to win since we’ve already beat them in OAK. Even if they’re able to go on a run all we have to do is beat them one more time. Meanwhile, if the Chargers were able to go on a run and somehow beat us twice they’d probably take the division.

-King- 11-06-2019 11:24 AM

Probably the raiders. Chargers are the better team and they control their own destiny against us whereas the raiders really don't so it would be preferable for the Chargers to lose.

If we're worried about the Chargers and/or Raiders, we don't have nearly as good of a team as we thought we did.

They are both in the rearview mirror and it should stay that way.

Eureka 11-06-2019 11:38 AM

Chargers can easily go on a winning streak and are yet to play the Chiefs. They are still in play for the division.

The Raiders host the Bengals next week and then play @ the Jets. Win those games and they could be heading into KC with the division on the line.

Chiefs should have ran away with this division but they are letting these two teams have a chance for the division.

They should have run away with the division? Losing to 2 of the best teams in the AFC with a banged up roster and then losing to the Packers with our backup QB (still with a decimated roster) doesn't lend itself to running away with anything.

I could rephrase it as the Chiefs were the favorite to win the division with their roster.

This is pretty much my thoughts. I don't really give a hairy rat's butt who wins tonight; It shouldn't matter.

Is there any scenario in which both teams could lose this game?

Looks slippery and hard to stop.

Megatron96 11-06-2019 03:18 PM

At a gut level, I can't root for the Chargers. Ever. I can't even explain it in words.

But just the thought of Rivers' face triggers a tsunami of animosity. And animosity may not be a strong enough word. Repugnance doesn't seem to capture it well enough. Whatever. He's on my sh*t list.

On the other hand, I've always been a Jon Gruden fan, even when he was hired to be the Raiders coach, I wanted only the best for him. So in spite of my innate hatred for the Raiders, it doesn't run as deep as my utter contempt for the Chargers, so it's 'Go Raiders," I guess this week.

Strongside 11-06-2019 03:38 PM

Chargers already have 5 losses.

We want them to win.

suzzer99 11-06-2019 04:05 PM

We still play the Chargers twice. I would much rather them have given up on their season vs. coming in on a whatever game winning streak like they did last year.

I don't care about the Raiders at all.

This is very easy. We’ve already beaten the Raiders. The Chargers are a better team, and more of a threat down the stretch. You must root for the Faders on Thursday.

Raiders are the biggest threat because the league will give them a call or two.

Chief Northman 11-06-2019 06:56 PM

Raiders have an easier remaining schedule, but the Chargers can play spoiler better and could get hot - they are the more talented team. The Raiders do not match up well vs the Chiefs...

I want LA buried early.
Go Raiders.

NWTF 11-06-2019 07:10 PM

I think Grudens got them playing at their ceiling, for that roster. That may be bad for sub .500 teams but above .500 teams dont have much to worry about. probably finish 8-8

Chargers are more talented and if they can put together some wins they could sneak in the playoffs and beat a team like the Colts or Texans. Thats their ceiling, a division rd Win.

Hog's Gone Fishin 11-06-2019 07:14 PM

So, if we lose to the Titans and the Chargers beat the Raiders that means the Mexico game is for posession of first place

CupidStunt 11-07-2019 07:44 AM

Literally doesn't matter -- we're no longer the type of team who needs to worry about that and whether or not we can eek out a 9-7 division win after rivals falter.

That said, Raiders is the answer. Chargers are still more dangerous down the stretch.

tredadda 11-07-2019 08:38 AM

Raiders. The Chargers are far too talented to have the record they do. If they make the playoffs they could make some noise. I want to bury them as quickly as possible. The Raiders don’t scare me as the Chiefs own them under Reid.

Danguardace 11-07-2019 09:08 AM

Given we have a road win already against the Raiders and they have to come to Arrowhead. Chargers falling to 6 losses would be best, mean we can all but eliminate them from play-off contention next week
