In the 90's I ran a sporting apparel store.
From 1994-2000 I ran a sporting apparel store. I recently uncovered a ton of pictures. Did I have any Gametime Sports at Bannister Mall customers on here?
|
You talking nudie pics?
|
I shopped there several times.
|
I would be interested in seeing a few highlights purely for the nostalgia. I didn’t frequent the place, but I remember it.
|
I remember they had a completely red baseball cap with a Raiders logo on it. I was so confused. The guy behind the counter had to explain to me that for many it is just fashion, and part of an "outfit".
|
Bought some sweet Zubaz pants there in 94
|
Was this before or after your career in women's shoes?
|
|
Wow. It appears that the asinine flat brim trend on hats was around even back then.

I was surprised too |

Flat-bill is on its way out nowadays, as well. |
Me.
Bought auto'd Marcus Allen Hat in late 90's. 75 bones Donated for auction for 37 Forever a few years later. |
Was that next to Chess King?

Did Bannister have a Chess King? I thought it was Merry-Go-Round only?
[at least in my era] |

I still see jackholes walking around with the bill of the ball cap turned around backwards. Its there for a reason buy a bean cap your problem is solved.

Why do I have to buy two hats when one will do the same job? |

That said... what if it isn't sunny out and I want to rep my team while keeping my hair tucked away AND not have any of my view blocked by the brim? /I literally just put on my two favorite caps to double check and both block the upper 25-35% of my view. |

This should put the why not flat brim hats argument to rest.

I flip mine back and forth, generally wear it correctly 90% of the time, but flip it back wards on occasion, like high wind, catching daughters fastpitch, and above example of protecting my neck when the sun is behind me. |
Where did you run the store to?

What's worse is the wannabe fake bikers who roll their bills from the front like some damn goober from mayberry.
I rarely wear a hat though. After the military I kinda just gave it up. Not saying there is anything wrong with an adult wearing a cap, but I do get a chuckle of how many 40-50+ men wearing them like a 20 yr old. |
South KC is a giant shithole now

I dont really get the age limit for wearing a hat thing. I dont look at it as fashion more functionality. When I was young it kept me from sun bleaching my hair out and looking like a cali beach surf doush. Then as I got older and my hair thinner it kept me from scorching my scalp.

Security gave me a ration of shit out in the parking lot of banister mall back in the 90s. Standing out by the car, waiting for the wife and daughter. They had the keys. Guys thought they were the ****in fbi or something. I said just leave me alone and they will come out when they’re done.
They went inside and found em. I wasn’t bothering anybody. Sec |
Whatever happened to Bannister Mall? Asking for a friend.

Check out The Buckle with the denim overalls on display. I remember dumbasses wearing those with one strap just hanging...dumbest shit I've ever seen.

1) What was your most popular jersey?
2) Did Royals stuff ever sell? They were pretty terrible during that era. 3) How did you see Bannister Mall change during that time? 4) What is your craziest Bannister Mall story? |
Quote:
Just looked it up - he spent all 16 games of 1995 inactive and then tore his ACL in an off-season workout and never played again. That would be a pretty obscure jersey to have now. |

2. I sold Royals hats and jersey's like crazy, especially once I came up with the black and white. 3. The mall changed due to a couple of different things, one was the bus coming from the city and bringing all kinds of shit with it. Second was the stupid ass guard shacks that made everyone feel completely unsafe and third the entire are surrounding the mall got worse. Race had nothing to do with it, it was just trash. 4. Well I had a stockroom at the end of the mall that I used to **** some of the mall girls in. |
