Let's talk about the Jaguars

No rest for the weary. The train keeps rolling on.

This is going to be a huge test, but at least its at home.

How does this one play out?

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-01-2018 09:33 PM

No, not yet

carcosa 10-01-2018 09:35 PM

At home. Just got punched in the mouth and survived.

I like our odds with Patrick Mahomes at the helm.

Deberg_1990 10-01-2018 09:35 PM

Fournette is out. So there’s that.

dj56dt58 10-01-2018 09:35 PM

I'm still jizzing from this game..

I think this is going to look a lot like the game we saw tonight. Very, very close. And turnovers are going to be key.

Hopefully Hunt can keep rolling as well.

St. Patty's Fire 10-01-2018 09:36 PM

At home.

Makes me much more confident in this one. Should help the Oline at least a littleZ

Iconic 10-01-2018 09:37 PM

So facing Denver 2.0 but at home.

Mahomes is gonna' **** shit up all over again.

GloucesterChief 10-01-2018 09:37 PM

Jags D is better than Broncs. Jags O is somewhat worse than or equal to Broncs. Offense has got to play better than in just quarters that being with 4.

bsroyals54 10-01-2018 09:37 PM

Arrowhead is going to shake a 2 mile perimeter come Sunday

CupidStunt 10-01-2018 09:37 PM

Based on tonight I'm a lot more worried about them than I was previously. But **** that, let's enjoy this for now. We're not players.

I think Reid will pull some stuff out of the playbook nobody's seen yet. Mahomes will build a nice lead and Bortles will have to play from behind.

The final score will be close but I think it'll be a little less stressful than tonight's game was.

Sofa King 10-01-2018 09:39 PM

I'm honestly encouraged by tonight, in a weird way. Maybe they believed in their own hype coming into the game. That feeling was punctured, and they still came away with the win.

The offense will get their shit together, Reid will come up with some new looks, and the defense will... well, the defense will have to hope Bad Bortles shows up.

pugsnotdrugs19 10-01-2018 09:45 PM

Watkins and Ford came out with strains. Need those guys.

Bump 10-01-2018 09:50 PM

Jags have the most talented defense in the NFL, with Mahomes I ain't scared.

After watching Denver try to stick their dick down KC's throats, I'm quite worried Jacksonville will. They are far better on D than Denver and they are also a team that will commit to running the football. Chiefs have to jump out to a lead in this one.

CupidStunt 10-01-2018 10:03 PM

We need Watkins back. He makes a HUGE difference in what the offense wants to do, spreading them out. It's crystal clear why he was our #1 priority.

pugsnotdrugs19 10-01-2018 10:06 PM

Negative, ghostrider.

Jags O is also better than Denvers. They are a MUCH better team than Denver. It will take a top shelf effort to beat them. Toughest game of the season so far.

Trust in the Mahomes.

IDK, the Jags offense has shown more flashes, but talent-wise, especially with Fournette out, they're about on par with Denver, IMHO.

They have a very deep core of receivers. I have no faith whatsoever that we can hold them under 30. This game is on the offense. #1 O vs #1 D. Their D is on a whole different level to any other D in the league. Will be a huge challenge, especially for our OL.

big nasty kcnut 10-01-2018 10:51 PM

Tomorrow let celebrate the win!

Frazod 10-01-2018 11:00 PM

This game scares the shit out of me - especially considering the short week, coming off a brutal, emotional win against our top division rival. At least it's being played in KC, so I'll call it a toss up. I do feel a bit better knowing that the Jags aren't perfect - let's not forget how they shit their pants against the Titans a couple of weeks ago.

Sure wish they weren't up next, though. This would be a wonderful time to play the Cardinals.

I wish they weren't preparing this week with all the film of what Denver's defense did.

TwistedChief 10-02-2018 06:02 AM

IF we were on the road AND IF they had Fournette, I'd think we lose this one.

But a number of our issues on offense yesterday seemed related to the crowd noise and timing. That's not going to be a factor on Sunday. They obviously now have tape of what Denver did, but Mahomes just wasn't sharp in the first half. And no one is going to be able to defend him outside the pocket so flush him from there at your own peril.

Chiefs 31 Jags 21.

The Chiefs biggest problem, IMO, last night was dealing with the crowd noise and getting the line calls made in the face of that. Fisher struggled especially.

That won’t be a factor in Arrowhead. Hopefully that helps make up for some of the gap between Jax D and Denver D.

And if things aren’t clicking... they can always spread the field and let Mahomes create and improvise.

Dunerdr 10-02-2018 06:29 AM

A much much better defense and a less talented offense. Hopefully whatever ****ery wrecked the offense the first half doesn't show back up. Drops, over throws, poor timing. Luckily Mahomes did what great players do and put this team on his shoulders and did some crazy shut to pull it off.

pugsnotdrugs19 10-02-2018 08:13 AM

Hope we have Ford and Watkins but decent chance we’ll have to try and win this one without them.

O.city 10-02-2018 08:31 AM

As much as this is a big game, theres other big games coming up. This is a game the d is gonna have to put it's ****ing big boy pants on and play a little better.

TomBarndtsTwin 10-02-2018 08:34 AM

Much tougher test than Denver.

But no crowd noise, etc. to disrupt timing, snap counts, formations.

We'll find out this week how good this offense really is up against probably the best Defense in the league right now.

Hammock Parties 10-02-2018 08:39 AM

I believe they are too strong for us, and that this is the game where Mahomes will fail.

Ergo, we will destroy them.

This is why HFA is so crucial for us. We need the offense to operate in quiet conditions come playoff time.

They’ll benefit from it this week too, of course.

Halfcan 10-02-2018 08:58 AM

If they bench Scrandrick- that will save us at least 1 pass interference call and a TD. Money ahead.

One game doesn't decide anything

The 1994 49ers lost an early season game 40-8 to the Eagles at home. SF had one of the most high powered offenses ever in 1994

KC has the #1 offense in the league, every week people say "wait till next week" but that is just rival fans who don't want to face the music. This offense is elite, and Mahomes is a stud, and that doesn't change no matter what happens against the Jags

They said we couldn't beat LA, PITT, SF, or DEN.

Denver threw everything but the kitchen sink at Mahomes and still couldn't stop us for 4 quarters. Jags won't be able to either. No team will be able to shut the Chiefs down an entire game, especially not at home.

Chiefs by 10.

Their offense doesn't scare me that much. #21 in scoring (Denver is #23). We've gotten shredded by some pretty decent offenses this season (#9, #11, and #12). I think, at home, against a bottom third offense, we should be okay.

Their defense is #2 in scoring. This could be a problem. But, I like our chances at home. Hold them to 23, like we did Denver, then I think we will be fine.

Scandrick has been better than Nelson and arguably better than Fuller...

The Franchise 10-02-2018 10:55 AM

This is the game where I wouldn't be surprised if we lost. They're just a bad matchup for us. Their defense is better...including their LBs and DL. Their offensive line is also a bad matchup because they're actually good.

Our defense is going to have step up. I think we lose this one.....probably 24-17.

Bounce back from what? When was the last time they played good?

JakeF 10-02-2018 11:26 AM

So far the defenses we've played are ranked:

17,20,23 and 30

Jacksonville has the #2 ranked defense

Our offensive line is going to need to play its best game of the year.

Offense
Kansas City - 8th
Jacksonville - 14th

Defense
Kansas city - 32nd
Jacksonville - 2nd

Rankings don't mean everything but Jacksonville is the best combination of offense/defense we've faced so far.

CupidStunt 10-02-2018 11:41 AM

Jags are 1st in points allowed, 1st in yards allowed and 1st in passing yards allowed. Where do people get 2nd from? It's a minor difference and I don't really care about stats either way; to my eye test they are not only the best D in the league but quite easily the best. They are loaded at every level. This will be an amazing challenge.

FloridaMan88 10-02-2018 11:50 AM

Jacksonville's defense is good, but the opposing offenses they have faced thus far include:

NY Giants = Ranked 25th in total offense
New England = Ranked 23rd in total offense (No Josh Gordon or Julian Edelman)
Tennessee= Ranked 26th in total offense
NY Jets= Ranked 29th in total offense

I can see the offense having some success simply because I don’t think JAC will try to trick us too much. They have dudes on that defense and they don’t have to disguise or be exotic to make stuff happen.

That could play into our hands as we obviously have dudes on offense who can win their battles. Playing at home helps a ton.

For sure, but we can't discount having the crowd and lower altitude on our side in KC. I think the offense will be more than ready for what the Jags throw at them.
