That was one of the most violent hits I've ever seen. I'm shocked Mariota got up from that.

Mariotta never went forward once during that entire play!

Look at Jeffy T pointing like he was trying to say Mariota was down. What a pole smoker.

Honestly, it's one of the BEST CLEAN HITS on a QB EVER. It's also one of the best examples of a FUMBLE as a result of the hit. It doesn't get any better than that anywhere. One of the easiest calls to make, but because it was so easy, yet missed, it's one of the WORST BLOWN calls of all time. There is no inconclusive evidence. There is no bad angle. It's clearly visible. There is no forward progress that's been stopped. Just a total SHIT CALL that did effect a playoff game. One of the worst examples of bad officiating you're ever going to see at any level. :shake:

The only thing missing from that play is DJ getting up and doing the same thing to Jeff Triplette.

Exactly, send him into retirement with style.

I like how DJ actually levitates for just a moment partway through the hit, driven upward by the life force leaving Mariota's body.

Jeff Triplette was on the take in that game.

Too bad such a beautiful play is so depressing. I hate Triplette!

That is just it. I could watch that play all day long on a loop if it wasn't such a reminder of the lack of a call for the fumble and just the game as a whole. Triplette didn't just ruin a game, he ruined the memory of one of the best hits on a QB I remember ever seeing. :cuss:

Worst call in the era of replay challenges. Hell maybe even prior to that.
