Explain how anyone is stopping the Saints from winning it all.

7-2

Winners of seven in a row.

Just blew out a very decent Bills team, 47-10, IN BUFFALO. They outgained them 482-198.

They have Drew Brees, but they also ran for 298 ****ING YARDS today. Their running game and their defense is top 10. Brees has been sacked a grand total of EIGHT times this year.

Brees hasn't had a top 10 defense AND running game, since, uh, NEVER. The last time he had a ground game this good?

http://media.nola.com/saints_impact/...d456_large.jpg

Right now I'm taking the Saints over everyone in the AFC, and in an NFCCG, I'll take Brees' experience over Carson Wentz's youth.

OnTheWarpath15 11-12-2017 04:03 PM

47 points scored by the Saints offense, and not a single Brees TD pass.

Times they are a changin' in New Orleans.

pugsnotdrugs19 11-12-2017 04:05 PM

I mean, yeah they'd be my SB favorite right now. But it's also week 10.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 11-12-2017 04:06 PM

Oline play has been fantastic.

Hammock Parties 11-12-2017 04:07 PM

"there are no elite teams"

During their seven-game winning streak, the Saints are winning by an average score of 33-14.

Uh...I think we just found one.

Easy 6 11-12-2017 04:10 PM

Its definitely looking like an Eagles vs Saints NFC Championship game

I've always liked Brees and Payton. Wouldn't mind if they won it all again, as long as they didn't beat the Chiefs to do it.

staylor26 11-12-2017 04:15 PM

Yea they’re really ****ing good. Saints and Eagles look like the best teams in the league.

ChiefGator 11-12-2017 04:22 PM

They aren't good since Brees isnt throwing for 400 yards.

If you wanna crown them....

RaidersOftheCellar 11-12-2017 04:28 PM

Another good example of why people should have been bitching about our O-line and D in recent years, rather than focusing all their hate on Smith. Who, by the way, looked like a superstar during the brief period he had a running game again and enough time to get off a pass once in awhile. Hmmm...interesting...

I haven't made the time to watch a whole lot of NFL outside of the Chiefs this year, so I knew the Saints were rolling to an extent, but was floored when I switched over and saw the rape clinic they were putting on.

Should be fun to watch down the stretch.

Dude, shut the **** up with your reactionary bullshit.

RunKC 11-12-2017 04:32 PM

Nope.

They are close, but I'm taking the Eagles bc their defense is so good and they picked up Ajayi.

Their defense is loaded with good players all over the place.

-Timmy Jernigan+Fletcher Cox is the best interior duo in the league. 6 combined sacks and elite caliber run defense from both.
-Their pass rush has 4 guys on the edge who are are 5+ sack guys. Vinny Curry (3), Brandon Graham (5), Derek Barnett (2.5) and Chris Long (3). These guys would each have 7 or more sacks but they rotate these guys a lot to stay fresh.
-Malcolm Jenkins is a top shelf safety.

Their CB's are probably the best in the league too. Jalen Mills has played very well, as has Patrick Robinson and rookie Rasul Douglas.

Eagles are the top team

mnchiefsguy 11-12-2017 04:33 PM

Saints are playing really good football, and the qb and coach have Super Bowl Experience.

This team will win the NFC South and be a very tough out in the playoffs.....

jimidollar 11-12-2017 04:34 PM

Well, it's still early. Anything can happen to derail a nice season.

This is fair.

The top-ranked run defense is a huge factor in their favor in this matchup.

RunKC 11-12-2017 04:34 PM

Holy shit I forgot about some guys they might get back. In addition to Jalen Mills, Patrick Robinson and Rasul Douglas, they are getting back Ronald Darby and maybe Sidney Jones.

Man that team is loaded.

bigjosh 11-12-2017 04:36 PM

Another flash in the pan NFC south team taking advantage of a last place schedule and major injuries to contenders while gearing up to lose the super bowl to the Pats or Steelers.

They look good and winning 7 in a row is impressive, I don't care if you play the Browns 7 straight weeks. However, they have lost to the 2 best teams on their schedule thus far. Yes that was week 1 and 2, but it is what it is. I would still go Eagles at this point

Then come 3 losses in 4 and suddenly everybody notices that we can't open running lanes, can't pass protect, and can't get enough turnovers any more to mask a D that gets knifed through like butter.

That's not taking advantage of a soft schedule.

That's raping faces.

MTG#10 11-12-2017 04:42 PM

There's really not much to explain. If another team in the post-season scores more points than them, that will stop them from winning it all.

chiefzilla1501 11-12-2017 04:55 PM

What's crazy to think about is, we haven't even seen the full potential of that offense. They're blowing people out so early that they're going on cruise control for most second halves. Hell, today they rolled over a good Buffalo defense in the second half without even trying.

This is a scary scary team. Its so rare these days to see a team like this that dominates both on offense and defense. Philly would put up a good fight. But if I'm choosing between those two teams, I'm taking the veteran qb.

Those guys aren't bad, but they aren't close to Jacksonville or Denver's corners. The Saints' corners are probably better too.

IIRC, they had a 90+ yard TD drive. Didn't throw the ball once.

Teams KNOW they are running and still can't stop it.

I'd have to think a huge part of it is that they can run the ball well and they play outstanding defense, two things the saints have not had much of the last few years. Kamara is absolutely electric as a checkdown back.

Okay. I am so used to their defense being awful. Such a surprise and mystery (until I am less lazy to dig into) why this is no longer the case.

True, but I think at best they are the 3rd best team in the NFC right now, and probably lower if Rodgers was alive, and the vikings could get a QB to stay healthy. Rams and Eagles are better teams.

Yeah..I don't see how what NO has done the last 7 games is so much more impressive than what the Rams and Eagles have done. Not to mention they had two double digit losses preceding that streak. To the top two teams they've played. Not getting worked by the good teams would have been more impressive than working the bad/mediocre ones. Not that they aren't a solid team, of course.

The Franchise 11-12-2017 06:36 PM

I’ll preface what I’m about to say with I still love Hunt as our RB.

But Kamara is ****ing good and I’d be totally happy if we had drafted him in the 2nd round.

Getting rid of Rob Ryan's fingerprints helped. Probably hired years ago because Payton pulled that Parcells tree bullshit like everyone else does. They fired a bunch of assistants this offseason so I'm guessing a big piece is that this defense is now firmly Dennis Allen's. Thank goodness Allen never figured this out while in Oakland.

Guess there is something to say for coaching versus personnel talent. Other than Cam Jordan, seems like all the rest are rather average?

Athis 11-12-2017 09:17 PM

2012 to 2015 have been horrible for the Saints. Bounty Gate, Drug Scandal, Crappy Draft picks, Letting starters walk/traded (Jenkins, Sproles..+) Defense ranking in the very high 20's even 30's. Free agents were crap, Signing bums to big contracts (Junior Gallette +) and having big dead money for four years. Just an overall "Who gives a SH%$" attitude. Things seem to have turned around..There is a lot of the season left, so we will see..

I'm surprised we didn't clear 295 yards in that 56-10 beat down we put on ATL with Priest and Blaylock.

The Saints have beaten a bunch of cupcakes in Green Bay (no Rodgers), the Bills, Bears, Bucs, Dolphins and Lions.

Their only "impressive" win was back in Week 3, when they beat the Panthers.

They still play at the Rams, have Atlanta twice, Carolina and a good Redskins defense ahead.

It's too early to crown their asses.
