I think Ford would be a much greater asset if we DJ wasn't on the decline and Berry wasn't hurt. He's a great pass rusher and average on everything else. He has his place in the NFL but it's not with the Chiefs at the moment unless they strengthen up the run defense but he may shine in the right environment.

Logan has never been a "pocket collapser." Run stuffer? Yes. He's still solid, but he's way overpaid for his role IMO. Should be a 3-4 million per guy. I think his former teammate, Beau Allen, would be equally effective and at most in this price range.

Logan holds up the point of attack pretty well in the run. I thought there were several occasions tonight where he would have helped out, but he wasn't on the field. He can't play every snap like Poe could when healthy

Logan has been a very good run defender. The problem is he looks bad because we he is e ONLY very good run defender.

Logan was signed to stuff the run. He's done a decent job of that. He ranks 5th or 6th DT/NT in the league in tackles.
That said, I think we can find a decent replacement next year for much less. One thing is certain...we have got to find a replacement for DJ.

Shaq Barrett will be a restricted FA next year. Denver will definitely slap a first-round tender on him.

Never understood that kind of outlay on a 1-year deal for a 2-down player.

I'd bring him back at 1/2 what he's making, at most. More of those mid-round fat guys you suggest can replace him actually end up busting pretty hard, pretty fast so I wouldn't go so far as to say he's easy to move on from. But there are fat bodies that fall through the cracks on the market every season and go for far less than we expect.

I would wait to see what happens there because there's an okay chance that the market simply never materialized for Logan and you can get him back here at a significant pay cut. That would probably be the best case scenario.
