GOODBYE Sunday Ticket! Big SHOUTOUT to Nickhead
I've been a Direct TV user since 1996. 21 stinking years.
AND the only reason I've never "cut the cord" is because of Sunday Ticket. I could not find a replacement stream that was steady, strong, and not full of pop-ups or malware warnings! Then last night...like a message from heaven...Nickhead posted: http://sportsarefree.xyz/nfltv It was great last night, and all the repeat games today. Plus it has HBO and a range of ~20 other stations. My Direct TV contract ends in 3 weeks...just long enough for the pre-season to fully test this and other possible streams! NOW, I have to figure out how to tie 5 TVs to a central DVR device or something. Any ideas or places to go to learn? |
How long before this is pulled?

glad it worked for you, because i had nothing but troubles with it after the first five minutes ROFL
part of it is im 6000 miles away, and we top out at 7 mb/sec. on the bright side there are so many prime time games i will be able to watch them live on tv more often. that and the fact i have to vpn to get those streams slows the buffer down even more. im just waiting for one of the CP faithful to start a hidden board that i can donate to for CP gametime viewing :D |
I used it also. Worked perfectly.
|
I found that link in Reddit the other night and watched the chiefs game with it. Was perfect.
|
Yeah good luck with all that.
|
Hhahahhahaha.
Oh, boy... |
Tick, tick, tick...............

You can almost always find a decent stream, but it's a bit of a hunt most of the time. |

So it is unwise cut the cord. Sucks! |

Yeah, I watched last night and it was orgasmic! The thought of it not working like it did gives me a sad, but Ima gonna ride that bitch till the fat lady sings.

It is usually threads like these that bring the attention to the sites, just so you know.

Yep. NFL has it's people checking every teams internet sites to see what everyone is talking about...especially things that effect their pocketbook. |
yeah, im done with Sunday Ticket and this would have been my 19th year, 1998. The last 2 years i was using my nephew's college credentials to get sunday ticket for 99 bucks, but he's not going to the police academy or someshit. Not going to pay 300 bucks. 8 national games for the Chiefs this year anyways, they get a few Sunday aftrernoon games, not paying 300 bucks for 8 games! lol

send it by pm only |
I googled the site. Looks like they do all the major sports plus movies. There's a Reddit about it. I have to believe the NFL already knows about this one. Yet it still exists.
Odd. |

Announcing it like this will probably kill it.

Chromecast to the tv looks as good as regular tvhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f18447e67b.jpg

How the hell do you get the overlay at the bottom to go away?
|
Dont publicize. Thats why they pulled the free gamepass to dutch people and i could no longer watch gamepass from a dutch vpn
|
Every year one of these tricks to stick one to the man pops up. I remember one year, if you used a VPN to make it look like you were in the Netherlands you could watch on NFL.com for free. They always get us all excited in the preseason and then the Shield flexes it's muscles and takes it away.
They might have to threaten the president of the bank where the server administrator's grandmother has her mortgage to get it done...but rest assured, it will be stopped. |

Streams suck. Especially if you are following along in chat, on Twitter, or a fantasy app. Nothing like having a score spoiled for you by even a 30 second lag. I used the Sunday Ticket max option pretty often and even that isn't 100% locked up with real time.

Was definitely a quality stream, although I watched the local KCTV stream for home team announcers instead of the NFLTV stream.
I have paid for Gamepass with a VPN previous years and been quite pleased. Wish they would make this available inside the US. Would purchase without question. Just not willing to pay for DTV on top of it. |
Holy shit this a beautiful stream. Hard Knocks is on HBO.

There are some seriously cheap bastards here.
|
Just renegotiated with Directv yesterday. Ended up with a free receiver upgrade for the bedroom and free Sunday ticket and $20 off my standard bill. Works out to $10 increase over what I was paying last year and the free receiver makes up for that. It pizzes me off that I have to call every year to "renegotiate" but I do like the ticket living out here in CO. There are some non-Chiefs games that I'll check out even when I don't need it for the Chiefs.
|
I called and said I was gonna cancel and they game me Sunday ticket free as well as all the premiums and lowered my bill, all with no renewal.
I think they're seriously shitting their pants about cord cutters. |

Last few years I've been able to find a student intern at work that I can buy streaming only Sunday ticket through. I wish the NFL would just offer that to everyone. |

Cancel it a month out. Make sure you get past retention and actually get it scheduled to be cut off. They'll call you within a couple of days and offer you deals similar to new customer sign-ups, including free ST.

I used it too. Worked perfectly. Hope it continues. The rerun on NFL Network cut out all the good plays.
|
I hope every one of you gets robbed. ****ing pieces of shit.

I don't think we'll see any changes to the availability until after the next CBA has been negotiated, which also coincides with the expiration of all TV contracts. That said, I'll take Direct TV and its uncompressed 4K signal over Spectrum or any other provider, regardless of whether or not they have Sunday Ticket. Spectrum gets enough of my money for VOIP and internet and I'm not giving them more. |

What would from keeping the majority of their subscribers from leaving if they offered it to everyone? |

Sunday Ticket full price, which I've never paid, is still far less expensive for me than going to a sports bar, where parking is at least $10 dollars ($160 dollars) or an Uber (at least $160 dollars) plus breakfast/lunch/drink, even if it's just iced tea (I'm not a day drinker). I'd be looking at $500 per season going to a sports bar, plus, I'd have to get all dolled up to go to a place in Hollywood, too. No thanks. |

Those of us that depend on royalties to earn a living are outraged by illegal streams and downloaders. Way too often, people forget about those that create entertainment for the masses, somehow believing that it's theirs to have for free. |

I wonder if they'll ever have a pay per view option for those of us who don't give a shit about fantasy football and only want to watch a specific team.
|
Quote:
I'm guessing that if the NFL offered up-to-date technology and options they could make more money than what AT&T/DirectTV is paying them. But in the end the NFL isn't going to turn down the 12 billion dollars that they are getting and the customer is stuck with a shitty product. It's no wonder that most people don't feel guilty when they stream. They should think about giving their customers more than these three options. Shit, Nothing, or Steal |

I dont stream movies illegally, and particularly with music I am not a downloader.... much prefer to go buy a cd and support that artist But with the NFL, I'm not inclined to feel any shame about it |

I got into a big ordeal here years ago that led to a several-month vacation. Had some support from folks like you, but by and large was relentlessly ridiculed over my position. To the point I was still getting messages and beg reps about it well after the thread died. |
LMAO @ penz

NFL Sunday ticket isn't worth the $$$$... Even living out of market.

I currently pay $35/month for SlingTV and Netflix. My DirecTV bill before I quit was about $100/month higher than that. Add NFLST on top of that, and we're talking like $1500 per year just to watch the Chiefs. There's no ****ing way on this planet that's a reasonable thing to ask to watch about 6 games of football that I wouldn't otherwise get over the air. |

Unlimited On Demand of any channel for years. Uncompressed signal and sound. 4K quality. You're dead wrong. |

Without Sunday Ticket, which DTV started back in the 90's. It was a way to build their brand. |
