Approval/Disapproval of The Trade.
If you don't know what The Trade is, just go away.
What do you think? This is a public poll, because we're going to come back in five years and revisit this day. |

Cant be serious.

The poll is late to the party.
|
I am all for it. Gotta buy a ticket to win it. They took their shot, and it's up to the coaches to get him where they want him.

Oh god, that might be too much for tonight. I may die if this happens. |
It was a good trade and I am glad they moved up and got their guy. I trust Reid and Dorsey. I liked Watson better but am 100% on board with Mahommes.
|
Kudos again - they wanted him and paid the price to go get him. Good luck to ya...
|
Need a "I approve of this pick, but think we gave up a little too much but it will be okay when we trade Alex Smith for a first round pick next season..."
|
While still fixated that we drafted Blackledge over Marino, I'm absolutely thrilled with this pick. In fact , I want to have John Dorsey's babies . No Homo.

A+++++++
If he busts, knock that down to an A++++ |
I approve of the trade and wanted Mahomes over Watson but hate losing the first rounder next year. No way to move up that far without it though.
|
I feel kind of bad for my lone dissenting vote. Let the record show that I'm thrilled to have a new quarterback, but I must maintain my longtime stance that tradeups are too expensive relative to the value. I hope Mahomes calls me out in his Hall of Fame speech, though.
|

But, assuming Dorsey and Reid's eye for talent is right, Mahomes will be worth it and more. |
How about cautiously optimistic but thought the trade would of been better next year with a stronger QB class.
|
I'm rock ****ing hard.
|
I would have been happy with Mahomes or Watson but I'm going to trust Reid and Dorsey to know what will work best for their plan long term. As far as what we gave up, I think it's a steal.
|
Watson is the more polished player out of college, but I think Mahomes has more upside.
|
based on the stiffness of my cock, i approve
|
It's exciting that we are at least trying
Kid looks bonkers |
I chose the wrong option in the poll thingy. I'm with the 89%
|
Just glad not to have to read the "Clark Hunt is a pussy for never having the balls to draft a R1 QB" take anymore!
Thank God! Congrats CP! |
I'm not even going to pretend that I know who is the best QB in this draft, but I trust Dorsey and if he thinks Mahomes is the future of the Chiefs - I'm happy. As far as what we gave up to obtain our QB of the future; I think it's a steal to our advantage. PBJ
|
I don't really watch college ball so I have to trust the experts on this. If they thought he was the guy, I have zero problem with this cost. It's actually pretty cheap to move up that high.
|
Who's the lone dumb **** that thought....
Oh. I see. |

Next year's draft has more QB talent but Dorsey and Reid needed to groom someone sooner than later. |

Gaz needs a vote.

I was leaning toward Watson above Mahomes, but I am thrilled to have drafted a QB and will gladly be wrong when Mahomes turns out to be a complete stud and better than Watson.
There is new hope for Chiefs fans today. |

I'm happy but guarded. Don't want to see Blackledge 2.0 and also not thrilled about giving up next years number one. Hoping this guy pays big dividends. He has to.
|
The Chiefs will get almost $14 million and most likely a 3rd or 4th rd pick for getting rid of Alex in 2018.
They won't even need the 1st rd pick. |

It's kind of cool to see almost everyone here happy. Last time I saw something like this the Seahawks were handing the Broncos their asses all chewed up.
I approve of the Chiefs giving up a hell of a lot. |
A+.
I pegged Mahomes in January and couldn't be happier with the selection. |

With 10 picks, trade ups were a certainty, because there aren't 10 roster spots available. |

In terms of value, we got raped.
Got the QB they wanted though so what ya going to do? d |

I get the full roster thing. Still, I gotta assume your current 53rd guy could reasonably be upgraded. Maybe even your 52nd guy. |

I am so happy with the Chiefs right now! Finally, the Blackledge curse is lifted.
|
Got on board with the pick when I found out he was a baseball player. Dude can throw the rock.
Let's just hope he can learn how to read NFL defenses...and quick. But he's got a season to mature a tad. |
Rickstar trade. Doing 2 chicks at the same time trade...
|
It was a lot to give up for what I see as a deeply flawed QB prospect.
They better be right, and Deshaun Watson better not be the dude they should have picked. I thought he was going to go well before #10, and had you given me the option, I take Watson over Mahomes every time. I approve greatly of the Chiefs finally grabbing their nuts and taking a risk, but I think they gave up way too much when they could have worked out a trade next year in a better QB class. It sure is fun to have a sliver of hope, though. |

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...54&postcount=7 Ideal size, canon for an arm, smart, gutsy player. Yes, he needs at least a full year of development (if not 2) but well worth the risk and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of Paxton Lynch, IMO. Draft him in 2017, sit him all year, let him compete in 2018. If all works well, he could take over mid-season 2018 or at the latest, 2019. |

A ****ing LATE 3rd this year and, most likely, a late 1st in 2018? Your football IQ is ZERO. ZERO. |

We have another 3rd and with the schedule we got, we would have to have an injury plague for that first to be higher than 28 or so..
Plus the comp picks we will get for Smith...this is amazing.. This will also make Smith play his ass off. I repeatedly said that there was no way Dorsey could be happy with Smith. |

I'm glad to see you back on CP, though. Let the rage flow, friend. |

That last option was tempting. I was explaining the Chiefs first round QB woes to my coworker after the Chiefs pick. When I mentioned the '83 draft he said, "Who in the **** is Todd Blackledge? They chose him over Dan Marino? No wonder they waited 34 years to do it again. If I ****ed up that bad, I'd be pretty gun shy as well. ****ing losers."
