Not a fan of either, but I know come game-time, my stronger interest is going to be in seeing Oakland lose and be demoralized. NE will rape either of them next weekend anyway.

Whoever ends up winning this game, I at least hope they bring some type of physicality at New England and beat them up somewhat. The patriots get enough of a cakewalk season to season with their perennial weak ass schedules.

This is the irrelevant playoff game this year. Neither team has a snowballs chance in hell of beating NE the following week. The Raiders are demoralized, the Texans might be too. Osweiler is starting only because Savage wasnt cleared to play. Texans should pull it out at home but I expect an inept stinkfest.

Pats are good, but they've beaten nobody of merit. Hoping cook can come out and be productive. Seems they have the o line to beat NE, unless their lg is out again next week. I'm still not counting Miami out yet.

I agree, they are......but we need to pump the brakes on this #1 defense talk. The AFC South (an the Texans schedule this season) is a pile of shit. Brady will straight embarrass that defense next weekend.

Ah, that was a 27-0 beatdown by the mighty Jimmy Garrapolo. The Texans will wish they had it that easy next week in Foxboro.

And if the Fade DO happen to pull it out today, the loss next week they would suffer might be historical.

Since ESPN was given a Wild Card playoff game to broadcast starting two years ago they have had the following games:

2015: Arizona vs. Carolina featuring an Arizona team with back-up Ryan Lindley as their QB against a 7-8-1 Carolina team.

2016: Chiefs vs. Houston, with Brian Hoyer as Houston's QB.

2017: Oakland vs. Houston, featuring Connor Cook vs. Brock Assmuncher as the QB match-up.

ESPN paying a shit load of $$$ for those crappy match-ups.

That's why they demoted Berman, they couldn't afford these hits with his salary anymore.

You can argue the legitimacy of the ranking. I'd consider scoring D more important than total yards anyway. But the fact is the Texans have a very good defense that's going to eat Cook's lunch. The won't be able to just run the ball to protect him.

As for the Pats, I agree the Texans probably won't have much chance. I'd prefer they face their division rival Miami. Regardless, NE is a tough nut at home.

In all seriousness the Pats will face a weaker than usual divisional round opponent this year. Miami could give the Chiefs the same advantage if they beat Pitt but I think its unlikely.

well this game isn't supposed to amount to much but, for once this year i'm actually going to sit down and watch some football. thanks to ABC for carrying the game so i won't have to watch it on ESPN, and best of luck to the Texans today.

So Oakland's quarterback had never even dressed on game day until last week, and their left tackle is making his first start at the position. This should be entertaining.

We got ice. It's fine although it's still only 28. But yeah - overkill - they're especially paranoid since the town was snowed in, four yrs ago for like 4-5 days. Understandably so... It's a catch-22 w/ this town, because if it does hit - we're not prepared for it w/ any plows, road treatments, etc... But it's mostly gone - still spotty ice though.
