Oakland will be more competitive than the Chiefs next year

@AdamSchefter: Oakland preparing for sweeping changes that involve its GM Reggie McKenzie, according to league sources. Mark Davis getting ready to spend.

Those guys get it, we don't. Derek Carr is their QBOTF and again we're still waiting for ours.

R8RFAN 12-14-2014 10:12 AM

Well, it's about time. They've been garbage for more than a decade.

Well, thank god they're getting rid of the guy who drafted both Mack and Carr this year. Clearly he was overachieving the Raiders incredibly low goals and probably making the others look bad.

Inmem Plan for Success

1. Find a GM who can draft great players
2. Fire him
3. Win

Clearly the Raiders have hit step two. They're headed for great things!

Don't be a homer. Apparently you just ignore the fans of Philly and their views on Reid. They weren't lying about him. I would love to have Harbaugh on this team.

The ridiculous part of the comment isn't that Oakland will get better. They're not a terrible team, despite their record.

Let's not forget that the Chiefs are still a good football team. I don't think they're a Super Bowl team, so this isn't some homer comment. But the panic over how bad this team is is just plain ridiculous. Next year, we will have an easier schedule, a MUCH healthier roster, and 11 draft picks + cap space to improve.

Get right or hit the road plain and simple. Sounds like they aren't ****ing around. It'll take Hunt 5 years to fire Reid. As long as we go 8-8 or 9-7 Reid's job is secure. Mediocrity is the Hunt way.

Yeah, except that trend has made it so no one wants to work there. Every two years we hear who the Raiders are targeting for their head coach, then a month later after they've been brushed off by all the real candidates, they hire someone like their current bozo.

It's all about the money and situation

Raiders have lots of money to spend, a great rookie QB to build around and many short term contracts as well as a full allotment of draft picks (or very close to it)

Raiders are a couple of WR's and a RB away from being a very competitive football team now.

It's all about winning in the NFL... If you can't win you are out.

This is your problem. In order to make your point you try to make it so black and white that you just end up making yourself look bad. Did you give the Chiefs a break for having starters out during the Raider loss? No you didn't. Yet you say it as a defense of SF and then move on like there is no hypocrisy there.

Andy Reid drives me up the wall sometimes and Harbaugh has had a great start to his career overall. He isn't perfect though. First of all Kaep has regressed a lot, and if he gets credit for creating Kaep he gets blame for his complete collapse.

He also has had terrible play calling in the red zone. My friend is a 9ers fan so we usually watch a lot of their games every week on one of the tvs. They end up with field goals so many times and its a large reason why they didn't make the final step. I'm not saying I wouldn't kill for the results he has had, but he isn't a lock for making OAK the 9ers of the AFC. SF did and do have a ton of talent.

Manning's arm, and game, is visibly declining, to the point where the Broncos have overhauled their offense to take that into account. Rivers hasn't gotten double digit wins out of that Chargers team since 2009.

The AFCW is K.C.'s to lose next year.

First of all, you guys are assuming that Harbaugh is a lock to go there and secondly, you guys are assuming that he's going to be some HOF candidate even if he does go there.

If he shows up in Oakland, he's has a TON of bad contracts to eat and washed up players to ditch before he can start remaking the roster in his image. Not to mention just the simple facts of installing a new system top to bottom and trying to create a new culture in that dump.

Nah, they wont be jack squat for a while even if he goes there...that team is the ultimate fixer-upper/long term project.

Harbaugh hasn't lost his locker room.

His team is banged up or missing guys, people have figured out how to stop his QB, and the 49ers have made bad personnel moves. And Harbaugh seemed disinterested this season since he's had a major falling out with the team's front office.

I think some of the luster has been lost. But he's still a good coach and I don't think he's in a particularly good situation right now.
