I think it'll be something ridiculous like 33 to 28, Seahawks.

I don't see how on earth we stop the Seahawks rungame. Our ILBs are too weak, and unless we take a 180-degree turn and play with three DL for the majority of the game, they'll run right over us.

At the same time, I don't know how Seattle stops us. Our specialty is the short passing game and run game, and Seattle's one of the worst at stopping the short passing game. We also run the ball on everyone, and without Mebane, the Seattle rush defense is merely above average.

So neither team can stop the other. I'm going with the Seahawks merely because I like their run game on Sutton's defense more than I like our offense on their defense. I really do think the Seahawks will run the ball 45 times.

Direckshun 11-16-2014 02:02 AM

Interesting fact, warning to all in this thread not to get cocky if the Chiefs get ahead:

Quote:

Since divisional realignment, the Seahawks are 2-15 vs. AFC teams in 10 AM PT games. One of those two wins came last year vs. Houston after falling behind 20-3, and the other one was 2005 in Tennessee after falling behind 24-14. Seattle made the Super Bowl in both seasons, so basically if they beat the Chiefs on Sunday, this two-game sample size suggests we're off to Arizona in February. It's a tough task and it should be a great game.

Direckshun 11-16-2014 02:03 AM

On the bright side, the only AFC team they've beaten at the time they're playing us in the last five years as the NFL's worst team last year.

If the Chiefs could get out to a quick early lead with a couple big plays like a a turnover or a big return and get up by a couple scores, that would make things very difficult for Seattle to run their offense the way they want to through their running game.

Here's to some quick early strikes and a 14-0 or 17-3 early lead in the first half.

I hope so man. I want to see DAT and Albert Wilson get a lot of reps.

I think part of the reason why DAT fielded those punts was because he didn't get any offensive touches, the kid is itching to make a play.

I'd like to see them try and take a deep pass with DAT like they did with Jenkins last week.

Given that Seattle is a strong rush team and weak passing, I hope and expect to see 4 or 5 linemen playing on first and many second downs.

Direckshun 11-16-2014 06:58 AM

Russell Wilson?

I love Russell Wilson, but I want us to American History X curb stomp these sea chickens. The defense and our oline better really come to play. Keep being great with the ball Alex. Run Jamaal early and often. Get Bowe going early. Travis Kelce needs to have a big day.

Just keep stacking the Ws. That's all that matters

Lonewolf Ed 11-16-2014 07:35 AM

I predict that today is the day a WR finally gets a receiving TD for KC. Why not go out on a limb... I say TWO touchdowns to at least one WR today! Now which WR will it/they be? :hmmm:

Direckshun 11-16-2014 07:36 AM

Just to let everybody know, this is a 100% true fact:

The Seahawks are so thin at defensive tackle, they are going to be playing their fullback there at points throughout the game.

The Seahawks.

Will be playing.

Their fullback.

At defensive TACKLE.

Granted, their FB is 280 lbs, but there is no reason we should not run them the **** over.

2bikemike 11-16-2014 07:56 AM

Flew into KC yesterday from San Diego. Had a layover in Vegas. I was surprised at the number of Seahawks fans on the plane. The stewardess came on the intercom and asked how many of us were going to the game. She then asked who was rooting for the Seahawks. There was a little roar. She then asked who was rooting for the Chiefs. There was a mighty roar. She was a Chiefs fan.

I am getting ready to head to the stadium. Hope to show those Seahawks fans what a loud open stadium is like.

Mother****erJones 11-16-2014 07:58 AM

Everyone on game day first took seattle

Mr. Flopnuts 11-16-2014 08:10 AM

So is Lynch playing? I'm hearing he may be out.

ChiliConCarnage 11-16-2014 08:12 AM

Pretty worried. I think Seattle will be smart enough to just keep running if it's working.

I hope Poe falls on that midget Wilson and breaks him

He's questionable.

But he'll play. He's just Tom-Bradying himself out of practice for a week.

There's no chance we're that lucky.

ayleswbj 11-16-2014 08:15 AM

You can beat the Seahawks, Smith has always played well against them and your D has the goods to take this game and even blow them out I believe.

ILChief 11-16-2014 08:22 AM

http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks

Direckshun 11-16-2014 08:23 AM

I think we're more capable of stopping them than they are of stopping us, but I truly wonder if our coaches are flexible enough to part with what we've been doing for a one-game exception of committing eight guys to the box.

If we do that, then we can slow them down, and their defense simply can't stop us.

Alex Smith lives on short passing, which the Seahawks are surprisingly bad at stopping (slow linebackers). We should also be able to run well today, as the Seahawks are desperate at DT.

Sell-out to stop the run, and you've got yourselves a win.

Loneiguana 11-16-2014 08:26 AM

Wife and I spent the night in KC to go the game today. A lot of Seattle fans in kc. At Jack stacks, at the the hotel. We gotta be loud today.

Lightrise 11-16-2014 09:40 AM

I am really hoping for this game. I've watched a lot of the Seahawks and it boils down to 4 things. 1) Lynch is a bull and he can wear you out. 2) Baldwin doesn't drop anything. 3) You can't beat Wilson unless you keep him in the pocket 4) It's very hard to break tackles against those guys. Oh, guess there is Sherman too. He lives up to the hype.

I think the Chiefs should focus on completely shutting down Lynch and keeping Wilson in the pocket. You do that and fail at the rest you can still win the game.
