Chiefs sign Allen Bailey to extension
Pro footballtalk
Per league source, Chiefs sign DE Allen Bailey to four-year extension. Base value is $25 million. $10 million to sign. |
Hmm.... interesting move.
That's good news.
This is a good thing
Very good.
In. Good work Dorsey!
Ian Rappaport
The #Chiefs sign DE Allen Bailey to a 4-year extension worth $25M, source says. He gets $15M guaranteed. $10M signing bonus |
He earned it. Great pick, solid player.
One of the best 3-4 ends in all of the league this season. Making us laugh even more at Tyson Jackson every week. Very happy day to be a fan.
6 million a year?
JFC |
Fantastic ****ing news.
Houston might be getting tagged. |
Might I add, this is imo the most physically impressive looking dude on the roster, perhaps the NFL. He looks like a legit ox.
I think that's too much

LMAO He is one of the hidden reasons that DJ's loss hasn't killed us. |
Walter Football probably still doesn't know who he is, and will claim in this 2015 mock at some point that "The Chiefs still haven't found a replacement for Tyson Jackson"

I like this Dorsey fellow. |

Soooooooooooooooo dont care. Good re-signing. |

34 DE that can rush the passer are rare. He can still get better too.
Good signing |
Awesome.
Although, seems like a lot for someone who's only played at a high level half a year

Comet is bound to be headed towards Earth right now. |
That 6 million will be replacing Chase Daniel alone. DeVito's demise may be upon us.
Adios DeVito
Quote:
That's my concern. |

Also, good point about Chase. I'm pretty sure there's a reason why we hid Bray on the IR for the season with a hang nail. |

Iirc, that's basically giving him DeVitos deal so it shouldn't matter |
Am I wrong or will it be only around 4 million cap hit

May God have mercy on our souls. |
Like the guy a lot. This is a bit higher than I'd have hoped for him but I'm glad we're keeping him.

Not if we cut Daniel |
that sounds like quite a bit for him
Great move. One of the keys to the success of the defense so far.
devito's contract: "Mike DeVito signed a 3 year / $12.60 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a $4,200,000 signing bonus, $6,200,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $4,200,000."
Bailey did well for himself...Dorsey is a generous giver of contracts, but good to sign a DE that gets sacks |

If I had to guess--- they will keep Houston, Hudson for sure. Hopefully Parker if he continues his roll. Then, the rest of our offseason will be toward the 11 or 12 picks we have. Maybe if the salary cap gets a big boost we can sign a guy or two.
Now get parker and Hudson locked up
DID WANT
Good that he is ours. Tyson is a joke compared to this guy.
Some food for thought-- think about some of the great defenses in the NFL right now. I come up with Arizona, Detroit, Seattle, and us. What do they all have in common? Very strong up front. Gotta keep the guys we have. Arizona's 34 ends are also studly.

Buffalo also, strongest DL in the NFL.
nice. i hoped for something less. but i figured he was worth 6-8m so oh well. happy to have him back.
Dorsey continuing to impress. Bit high, but with his arrow pointing up and the difficulty in finding a player like him = pay day. I'm glad we did it now instead of later. If we had gotten into a bidding war, we would have had to spend a couple more million / year.
Houston may be tagged but who cares. I like that we're keeping good players for decent budgets that won't create a team breakup.
When are they going to extend Sorenson ???????????????
Deserved it. Hopefully Hudson is next.
This raises another discussion. With these signings Dorsey is really setting us up for WR and BPA come this draft, much like 2013.
Anybody who watched Bailey last year could see that he was really starting to get it together and become a solid player. I knew once Jackson was let go, then it'd be time for Bailey to shine. Hopefully he continues to grow from here, but I'm glad he'll be with us for a while.

Excellent. Dorsey is a baller.
Houston very quietly had a nice year in 2013 and has stepped up his game considerably this season. Great signing. |
Good, he has been playing his butt off. I want to see him get more stout in the run game, but he makes up for it with his backfield penetration and pass rush ability.
Fantastic.
Well deserved. Now keep earning it man. Very happy. Good job Dorsey.

The contract puts him among the highest paid defensive ends in a 3-4 defense. He trails players like J.J. Watt, Calais Campbell, and Darnell Dockett.
The #Chiefs still have Ron Parker, Josh Mauga, Chris Owens, Kevin Vickerson, & Rodney Hudson, and Justin Houston to retain UFA wise for 2015. Great start.

Of those guys you named, the ones worth bring back are Houston, Mauga, Parker, Hudson. The other 2 are replaceable. And that's not to take anything away from Vickerson. Owens is the one that sucks. |
**** yes.

Bailey repeatedly is getting in the backfield and applying pressure when he's not too busy stonewalling running backs in the run game

Allen Bailey has also played 30.2% of special teams snaps for the #Chiefs this season.

Glad to get him signed. He is having a very solid year.
Really good move. He's one if the most underrated players we have. Glad the Chiefs front office is taking care of business. Nice move.

So far we have Poe. Bailey has really improved but I'd like to see even more from him. He's good right now, a better all-around player than Jackson was, but I want him to be great. |

There are seriously people in this thread underwhelmed with this signing?
A no brainer and he signed for very cheap. And no... He is not getting paid 7 mil a year. A 10 mil signing bonus In 4 years is very cheap. |
