Who are they, where are they, and what do they run?

Someone who runs a 1-gap 3-4 not named Bob Sutton.

Hey, remember when we thought Gunther was an All-World DC in the 90s?

No way he survives. Reid staying loyal to his DCs when they were failing ended up getting him run out of Philly.

The Chiefs defense is awful. Sutton will fall on the sword sooner rather than later.

Yup. The fact that he cant integrate Dee Ford at all, when you have to know that he had some say in getting Dee Ford in here and so did Dorsey, someone has to take the fall on that for not drafting Xavier Sua Filo, or Kelvin Benjamin, or Teddy Bridgewater, someone is going to die on that sword.

It wont be Reid, it wont be Dorsey. It will be Sutton.

And the reason I mentioned Ken Norton Jr. He played in the 3-4 with Dallas, he coaches in the attack 4-3.

And in all honesty, if they want to extend the Career of Hali, they can move him down to end, move Allen Bailey inside with poe, and use Dee Ford like Seattle uses Bruce Irvin. Irvin is a pure pass down pass rusher. That's all he plays.

No he doesn't. Not using FORD at all yesterday is pitiful. you know you are without your best corner in Marcus Cooper, he should of been blitzing from the moment Tennessee got off the ****ing bus.

He has no crutch. NONE. And that's the thing I like about Dorsey knowing he is a Ted Thompson guy, he wont stand for failure.

Chiefnj2 09-08-2014 12:06 PM

The defense was awful yesterday?

Cooper was out and then they lost their only ILB and starting DE to season ending injuries.

The coach and GM made no real effort to upgrade CB or S or ILB in the offseason and the teams top two draft picks aren't good enough to get on the field. This is all Sutton's fault?

The 49ers were without Aldon Smith, Navarro Bowman, lost Chris Culliver early in the game, and still managed ON THE ROAD to stomp out dallas.

And while I can agree that injuries probably hurt the Chiefs, you don't think that Sutton had some pull into drafting Dee Ford, and Gaines, and yet he couldn't incorporate them yesterday at all?

Come on, at some point the blame has to be pointed at the guy you know, running the defense. Andy Reid is an offensive guy.

Its probably not going to matter. His age, his size, his career is more than likely over and the chiefs will IR/injury settlement release him.

helluva lot easier to look like a 'genius' with DT, Neil Smith, Saleamua, Dan Williams, Donnie Edwards, Hasty, Carter, Collins, Brian Washington, Jerome Woods, etc.

It doesn't matter what you call.

Remember when everyone (including us) started running the 'Tampa cover 2'??

Turns out that, without Lynch, Brooks, Sapp, Barber, Rice, et al, it's a pretty vanilla defense.

Great players make great plays.

(But only if you hand them the ball, Andy Reid)

I'm starting to think this is where you start. Sans Andy changing his colors and being honest about what he's doing and where he's going, we'll have to assume this is him at his best. And even he admitted that he ****ed-up this last game. Well I accept him falling on his sword, but the sword needs to more than symbolic, there needs to be some blood. If he chooses to take all the blame and play the hero/martyr, so be it, but it needs to result in something more than deflecting blame from his staff and ending in nothing.

So I get him taking the blame, taking the bullet, falling on his sword, but so far it means nothing more than the other people who are at fault too never getting their public lashing.

And I hate how they think the game is so fast that they can't make adjustments. Perhaps he'd do better by the team by being in the booth and reading CP, evidently we get the concept of making adjustments. But it's not like these game allow for one play, so if you miss you one play-call, you miss the whole game. If the man is this slow, perhaps it's time to pack it in.

Yes let's run our HC with a proven track record out of town after a season and a game!! Paired with our recent history of hiring and firing of HCs it should be easy to get a better coach in here. Brilliant!

He took this team from a two win abortion to a playoff contender and you think we're just going magically up and replace him and then all of a sudden everything is fixed?

SD went into AZ on Monday Night...in their home opener and played a team that was better than them a year ago and barely lost by ONE ****ing Point.

Well I guess we're just ****ed, between having bad ownership, him whiffing on GMs, them whiffing on HCs, the whiffing on DCs/OCs, and all of them whiffing on drafts and FAs and having a lot of bad players, where do you start?

Perhaps a 1 Arrowhead Way melt-down of all 70'ish of them, with a no-hold-barred screaming, finger-pointing, and name-calling session, would be a great way to start the fix. Get it all out there, each of them tell the rest of them what they really think, then see who wants to quit and who wants to stay and commit their whole life to getting better that every guy they'll play against.

To be continued from 2013........
The Chiefs' defense allowed 405 yards last week. It marked the seventh game in the last nine that Kansas City's defense allowed 400 yards or more. The Chiefs have also allowed 23+ point in seven of eight games.
