He ****ing sucks
|
|
he's pretty darned good. but.
|
Dude looked like he was at a strip club when the Chiefs called.
|
@JasonLaCanfora: That's the first guy taken tonight I didn't have in the first round of my mock. And probably not the last I'd presume
On Dee Ford ROFL |
Good pick. Would have rather had Dennard but can't complain too much.
|
**** dee ford

Who?

Good player, don't think the value was there AT ALL. Could have picked a day 1 impact starter at Safety or WR or trade down and do the same thing.. instead they pick a rotational pass rusher who won't be on the field most of the time..

Ugh. Just ugh
|
So Hali's smoking pot again !
|
Love the pick.
We need pass rushers. Look what happened with this defense when Hali and Houston got hurt. Great pick. @ArrowheadAddict: Picking Dee Ford means KC likes his medicals. …Which means KC got the second best pass rusher in the draft behind Clowney. |
It's a fine pick. Talented player, plays a position of impact, and a need.
I'm fine with at #23. |

fat and happy |
He looks like he has athletic ability to be a beast, but I was hoping for a safety

We have completely ****ed this up again
Philly has Andy's number. I don't doubt they planned on trading with Cleveland all along because they knew Andy was going to try to go QB. Everyone knew that is why sal pal was up in Cleveland just to **** with Andy again Everyone saw this coming except Andy and Dorsey Dorsey doesn't watch tv or read the papers for weeks before the draft, maybe he should |

Per Herbie Teope
Chiefs coach Andy Reid called Dee Ford a "tremendous person" and complimented his high motor. Said looks forward to bringing him in the mix. |
CP should be embellishing this moment. There was like a 95% chance we would take OG instead of a monster of a play maker like Ford.
@ Haters. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88...nbS1qgxdtt.gif |
Excellent 2nd rd pick, oh, wait....
|
Season tickets and division 3 packs still available
|
Not sexy but could be worse
|
Bowe, Avery, Jenkins, Hemingway
Bowe, Avery, Jenkins, Hemingway Bowe, Avery, Jenkins, Hemingway Keep repeating that until the Chiefs realize they have a dumpster fire of fail at WR. They ignored the position in free agency, and now in the first round of the draft. |
Hali isn't here much longer. These 2 drafts say this new regime is rebuilding and moving on from big contracts.
Hell even the ones they signed can be cut after this season even Bowe... |

If you are gonna reach at 23, go Lee. We have No WR's worth a mother ****. Gawdamn
|
Lee and Dennard on the board and they go Ford...unbelievable.
|
Quote:
It's a rebuilding team that is shedding contracts. |
I just kinda sat there and went...huh. OK. I guess.
Glad we at least went defense. Would have preferred safety, but we can always use pass rushers and people here have been saying Tamba is gone next year anyway. Pay Houston and hope this dude can be a Tamba i guess. At least it wasnt' a ****ing guard. |
Quote:
When Alex Smith is 50? Chiefs with 8 Pro Bowl players last year are choosing to go into rebuild mode, rather than all in to try to compete for a Super Bowl. That summarizes this offseason and the current state of this pathetic franchise. |
I'd rather emulate the Seahawks more so than the Donkeys.
|
Looks like the chiefs have the QB's they think they can win with and are looking to neutralize horse face Jr.

Should have traded Hali last year, but maybe we could get into the second or third round.Time for him to go.
|
He was my fourth choice after Bridgewater, Marquise Lee, and Darqueze Dennard. He wasn't completely inexplicable, but I have concluded that the Chiefs will never draft a quarterback in my lifetime. It's a waste of time to watch them.

It is damn hard to find good pass rushers, harder than CB's, WR's etc. If his medical is good then I got no problem with the pick.
|
Quote:
That would be seen as an opportunity to try to win now by most franchises. |
Sorry ya'll, but the Chiefs made a smart decision.
This draft is flush with receivers and you don't need to spend a first ****ing round pick on a mother****ing Guard. Was I begging for a QB? Sure, but I also knew there was 0 chance they were gonna do it. The pick was fine considering the circumstances. |

@adamteicher: reid: Chiefs had 3 or 4 players rated close to Ford. #KCpick
|
My concern is that I saw OT Jake Matthews from Texas A&M own Dee Ford. If he can do most OT's in the league will be able to do it also. We will see.

Keep deluding yourselves that this isn't a giant abortion of a pick.
|
I'd rather have a really good pass rusher than a corner with very stiff hips (Dennard)
Watch his combine workouts and listen to Deion just clown him. Ford at 23 is a good pick. It just sucks that we didnt get Manziel. |

35 ppg ALL OWED and like no sacks. Which is the biggest need again? |
Quote:
|
it's cool/ we'll have our 250 DE on the line in our 3-4.

The two guys I use for ranking players had Ford in the the mid to late 20s. So it was a little early..but not horribly...not if they like the player. |

good player if you ran a 4-3 |
Here you go....actually, pretty impressive summary!
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES STRENGTHS: Fluid athlete with impressive burst, agility and underrated strength. As his size suggests, Ford relies on his burst off the snap to gain the corner against offensive tackles. He accelerates smoothly and is flexible enough to bend around the corner as a pure speed rusher. Also possesses long arms and broad shoulders. These give him better pop at the point of attack than his opponents expect. While he's not going to be able to hold up against a powerful run-blocking right tackle all day long, Ford shows some toughness in setting the edge and does a nice job of jumping outside to keep contain. Best of all, while most of his snaps due come from the three-point stance, he is occasionally asked to drop back into coverage, giving scouts evidence that he'll be able to handle coverage duties. Ford shows balance and efficient change-of-direction skills when operating in reverse, making him one to watch as a linebacker convert. WEAKNESSES: Lacks the size and leverage ability to routinely hold his ground at the point of attach against tackles, when asked to defend the run. Lacks consistent rep experience dropping into coverage and may have a learning curve there at the next level, where he'll need to show an ability to contribute if he hopes to be an every-down NFL player. COMPARES TO: Corey Lemonier, OLB, San Francisco 49ers - Like Lemonier, a former teammate, Ford is an undersized pass-rusher who primarily lines up at defensive end for Auburn but will be asked to transition to outside linebacker in the NFL. --ROB RANG PLAYER OVERVIEW Ford was ranked as the nation's No. 26 defensive end by Scout.com coming out of Odenville, Ala., where he was selected to the Class 4A All-State team. He appeared in 13 games as a reserve for Auburn in 2009, totaling 12 tackles. Ford started his first career game the following season, registering 11 tackles and two sacks while seeing action in 13 games overall. Ford entered the starting lineup in 2012, with eight starts at defensive end. His junior season was highlighted by two sacks and seven total tackles against Clemson. He really emerged as a force in 2013, finishing the regular season with 12.5 tackles for loss, including 8.5 sacks in earning first-team All-SEC honors from the league's coaches and the Associated Press. Medically excluded from participating in the combine based on readings of remnant issues from a 2011 procedure on his back, Ford put on a show at his pro day workouts that backed up his game production and his boasting -- both of which are considerable. His intense focus was reflected first at the Senior Bowl and then by dropping eight pounds in 10 days before his pro day. At 244 pounds, he looked like a classic convertible -- able to move from a 4-3 defensive end to a destructive 3-4 outside linebacker or hybrid pass rusher if necessary. His pro day show included a 35 1/2-inch vertical, 10-foot-4-inch broad jump, 29 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and a 40-yard time of 4.53 seconds. There is something special here. Ford is a vocal and physical leader who could pay the most consistent, long-term dividends of any defensive end in this draft -- yes, including Jadeveon Clowney. He would be a steal after the middle of the first round, assuming his back in OK |
**** this excuse "well we lost Tamba and Houston and our defense crumbled." Well, duh, I expect that to happen when you lose your 2 best pass rushers.
The Chiefs lack too many starters to draft for next year or for depth when you need starters at WR or FS or even RG. This sorry excuse for a franchise always has something to throw to the fans. Dee Ford is ****ing overrated. The guy can only rush the passer, somewhat effectively and he can't stop the run at all. This is a guy I would have taken in the 3rd round. Hopefully the guy becomes all world, because we just passed on Earl Thomas Part 2 and a whole shitload of very good WRs. |
WR class is deep this year
|
Quote:
We need a ****ing WR in a bad way though. |
Pretty sure this regime doesn't think nearly as highly of this team and it's chance as the fan base does.
Look at their moves and tell them they don't think it's a gut project and not a push for the superbowl one. |
I hope takes Peyton Manning head off
Oh snap |
Get him on the field with Poe, Houston, and Hali this year.

Call it what you want he's a backup luxury pick when we had GLARING NEEDS and the players available to fill them. Donnie Avery y'all. That's who you have to put your faith in. What a ****ing joke.

Stretch, has good rubber band strength, likes to play in the box.
|
Jimmy Ward or Marquise Lee would have been a better pick.
