Alex Smith = Playmaker
Just an amazing job in this first half of football to weather the storm of losing Charles and stepping his game up to a level many of us thought we would never see.
Worth every penny of 2 second round picks. If they give him an extension next week, I'm ok with it. PLAYMAKER |
This might be the best half of football that any QB in Chiefs history has ever played.
|
Let's wait second half, a meltdown could undo all his first half work.

He has played beyond my expectations this game. Bravo!
|
The shuffle passes are key plays in this game. Great improvisation there.
|
Many, if not most, here will hate this comparison, but Smith looked a lot like good Tony Romo in that half.

Proud of him, and happy for him, and no one deserves this more, than Chiefs fans. |
****ing unbelievable, hopefully it isn't a one game mirage.
|
I hated on Alex early on in the season, he began to warm up to me during the 2nd half. Now I'm loving me some Alex!!1
|
Alex Smith is looking like the player the 49ers thought they were drafting first overall.
|
I am very impressed.
Thank you, Alex. |
It's not over yet. He needs to run down the clock on these next drives.

If we lose, it's 100 percent on the defense. |
Brett Favre!

Alex Smith = Matt Schaub.
Without all the mistakes. |
If we lose, I still say **** YOU to the doubters... the defense lost this, they cant stop a runny ****ing nose.
|
****ing premature ejaculators celebrating one half...
... die. That is all. |

He can't do it by himself and ESPECIALLY without a defense that can't stop SHIT.

Overall, Smith still played very well. The missed TD to Gray hurt, and the fumble was also a killer.
It was a day that Smith needed to be perfect, and he wasn't; the defense was simply nonexistent. |

Alex Smith had very little other than that fumble to do with this loss. But, he will be the scape goat. |

The defense lost this game, period. |

44 points should win you the game. It's that simple. He played OUTSTANDING today. Was he perfect no. But he was FAR FAR FAR closer to that then the defense. |

Sutton will be the scapegoat. |

This was Alex Smiths best game of his career. Injuries, and a suspect secondary caught up to the Chiefs. Still, gives hope to next season. Good to know that Alex Smith can be a play maker, instead of just a game manager. |
People blamed Green after the 03 loss, so I'm sure people will blame Alex for this. Hard to argue with 44 points though. And I think he might have set a Chiefs record for playoff passing yards. I don't care enough to look. I think we set a lot of offensive team records today, and did it without Charles too.

In my mind, defense just doesn't matter much in today's NFL. The team with the best QB is going to be favored 90% of the time. The best QB on the field today was Andrew Luck. |
Alex put up a valiant effort despite the loss of Charles, Davis, Avery, and like a quarter of his defensive backfield

(queue the Joe Flacco posts) |

Tell that to the Ravens last season and the Giants the season before that. Defense matters a lot. The defense was incredibly conservative in the 2nd half, Sutton should have basically sent jailhouse blitz after jailhouse blitz at Luck, knowing he'd have to throw the ball, instead he got to sit back and pick them apart. Horrendous defensive showing, had this defense even played average they would have won the game walking away. If your offense puts up 41 points, you should win every single m'fing time. |

John Dorsey lost this game back in April when he drafted a right tackle 1st overall and ignored the safety position. funny how the highest offensive totals of the year were when fisher was out.

You're damned skippy, **** this defense... Axl played this mfer to WIN. |
When your QB throws for almost 400 yards, 4 TD's and no INT's, you should ****ing win every single time. Either Sutton needs to go or this defense needs to continue to upgrade, because they got worked.

Knile was a Beast. That's what hurt the most. |

I truly don't recall them ever doing it. |
Must be nice throwing the defense under the bus with "44 points" while ignoring the points scored off turnovers.
The whole team sucked shit in the 2nd half, including Alex. |

378 yards, 4 touchdowns... but its still "he just couldn't answer the bell?" BULL ****ING SHIT. |

The colts scored 45 points. Who exactly should get the blame for that? Alex Smith? |

Well if Andrew Luck is the goal, then Alex Smith is never going to be that. But I think Luck can be better than Manning and Brady.

Alex may be a playmaker but he will become the least talented QB in the division next year when Johnny Football becomes Johnny Raider. I just can't see Oakland not taking him at #5.
|
If you homos are still against Alex, see you in the pre-season. I'll not waste my time listening to the opinions of troglodytes whine all off-season long.

Smith carried this offense and his play was what got us a big lead. He's the last person we should be blaming today... |
Here's something to chew on...Alex was the better QB tonight.

For the last time, JFC, Alex Smith is NOT the problem.
Did he throw 3 INT's like the opposing QB did? That was easily the best Chief QB performance in a playoff game. |
that was one of the best games I've ever seen from alex smith.

I'm not satisfied with that QB. I'm not going to bash him; he had a great game. But situational play matters to me. |
