Sturgis
Leaving tomorrow, any CPers live up that way? Going this year? Ever been? Give me some insight, what to do, where to go, and finally - where to watch the chiefs first preseason game.
|
Yeah I have been to two of them. Back when I was a district manager for NAPA, Sturgis was in my region so I went down a couple of years to help out that store. It was alright, but not really my thing. Complete body wash and I don't like that many people at one time. As far as bars check out One Eyed Jacks. There are about three other main bars, but Jacks is the biggest and has the most action. As far as chicks running around with their milk cannon flying around, they have cut down on that and the real shows are at the camp grounds in the area. Have fun!

I love the Black Hills, but wouldn't be caught dead out there during that ****ing rally. The entire area is crawling with them for a week. The locals hate it, but sadly it is a necessary evil, since that one week puts the tourism industry in the black for the year.
I go out there for peace and quiet, not to be packed wall to wall with scumbags. I get that in Chicago when I'm not on vacation. |

I lived in Rapid City and used to go every year.. Check out the Sturgis-Deadwood-Spearfish Canyon ride. "No Panties Wednesday" in Huellet Wyoming will take you past Devils Tower.
If you're getting your drink on, park and walk all around Sturgis. There's plenty of good live bands playing every day. And of course, there's the huge venues just outside town with big acts. Whatever you do, don't get drunk, pass out...and drool Copenhagen all over your girlfriends sisters carpet. It's frowned upon. |

Two hours down. Next stop, st joe actually.....

Watch out for traffic and for the love of God....don't drink and drive. I'm being 100% serious.
There are fatalities every year down there because people are ****ing morons. |
My pops goes every year. Rides his Harley from Denver with his wife on the back. I can't remember the name of the bar, but he says it's in a basement, the waitresses wear gstrings, and there are panties all over the ceiling. He says that this is the best bar.

Going to devils tower, stopped to wait out a small storm. I forgot Wyoming is an open carry state, some guy downing soco and lime shots with a glock on his hip. Makes me wonder how many signs get shot.

Have you stopped at Lewie's outside of Lead for a burger yet? Probably the best in the hills and the beer is cold. Well, usually anyway.
