Is Hunt Telling The Truth?
Don't want to start a panic, but I know we are all thinking the same thing even if we want to ignore it. Clark SAYS he is gonna hire a vet coach that's experienced in what we need and that Pioli won't play a part in the search, but then we keep hearing about guys Pioli has connections with getting interviews and how Clark hasn't even contacted Andy Reid.
I may be jumping the gun here, but this is starting to remind me of last years "we are gonna bring in qb competition" talks that we all know how that ended. Is this a "fool me once..." type scenario or are all the tree coaches interviewing just bs leaked by Pioli to create the impression he still has his nuts? Should we be pissed? |
JFC give him some time to do something
|
Pissed?
**** no. If he's lying, there's ZERO reason to continue following this team. Period. |
Just continue to follow Piolis master plan.
|
40 years of futility and paranoid setting in.
|
Wasn't that Egoli with the QB "competition" and not The Clark's?

I think Clark is taking away some of Pioli's power and is going to make the ground even between HC and GM to spark discussions in an attempt to better the team.
I don't think Pioli's voice has been removed. Doesn't make sense to not fire him, say you are hiring a coach that has to mesh with the GM, and if they don't Pioli gets fired and then you go hunting for a GM after all the candidates have landed in their new location. |
we won't know until something happens.
you can choose to freak yourself out or you can 'wait' |
He's interviewing Ray Horton this week and he has no ties to Pioli, you stupid SOB
|
It's been 48 hours since the end of the season. Definitely panic time. If we don't have a coach and QB by Friday it's time to burn Arrowhead down.
|
The season ended 2 days ago and we already have these threads?

To BC's point... Clark made this big issue about how important it is to get the search started, and how he had certain requirements for the next HC. Yet he's spending the day in ATL interviewing two guys that don't come anywhere close to meeting the requirements he laid out, and is supposed to interview Ray Horton later in the week - again, not exactly a match for his criteria. Why waste your time? And if you hire one of these candidates, who the hell is going to come here as GM with no control and have their job security in the hands of someone like Dirk Koetter? |

It not only reminds me of last offseasons debacle, it reminds me of Clarks comments BEFORE hiring Pioli, only to not follow through with any of it. |

My gripe is that NONE of the guys were are supposedly gonna interview fit Clarks supposed criteria. I have concerns that Clark is giving us lip service to cool down the fanbase while trying to find an acceptable way to keep the fraud. I really hope I'm wrong. |

By tomorrow, I will be fine with Herm. And by Friday, I will good with Rich Kotite, even if he's dead. |

I prefer to wait until the HC is hired before I decide if I wanna freak out.
I think Clark has taken full control and he has stripped Pioli of power. If he's lying, then **** him. |

You have to reach DEEP into your tinfoil hat to come up with the idea that Clark is making it appear like he is running the team while in reality Pioli is.
I mean DEEP. |

I swear, this fanbase refuses to believe anything the media puts out unless it's good news. Yep, these guys are all in the business of reporting blatant lies. But hey, it only took 4 years for people to finally believe what Whitlock was saying about the Garozzo's dinner to be true. |
I don't know if he's telling the truth or not. I'm going to believe that he is, until he proves otherwise. The outcome of this coaching hire will be that proof.
Clark is demonstrably out of touch with the fanbase. You can interpret some of his answers to Petro's questions yesterday as still believing that fans can live with Pioli as long as the team is winning. So, yeah, I have some worry about how all of this is going down. But since my very fandom is at stake with this decision of Clark's, I'm willing to let it the decision actually happen first before I go bonkers. |

If its that's easy for the press to figure out, I'm sure there's dozens of Tweets about it already. |
Time will tell. The proof will be in the pudding. I highly doubt anyone that Hunt is serious about will slip out into the media unless Hunt wants it to, as he plays it close to the vest. Same thing happened when we did our GM search four years ago. Once it got serious word started getting out.
That said, it may be that Hunt wants a big name, but won't be able to land one. Sort of like he wanted Manning but couldn't land him. I'd be very worried if that is the case, because it wouldn't speak well of his perception around the league... |

We don't even know that Clark HASN'T interviewed any premier coaches. No one knew Andy Reid was interviewing for the Cardinals job until the reports today that he'd get the job.

AND what would stop Pioli himself from asking permission? He could be still trying to save himself.
Where are the reports that CLARK was in Atlanta today interviewing those guys? Posted via Mobile Device |
Candidate for most ridiculous thread of 2013 already.

I will say it again:
The first reports mentioning Dirk Koetter also mentioned Kirk Ferentz. KIRK FERENTZ IS NOT COMING TO KC. So there's zero reason to trust those reports until someone confirms that we did indeed interview Koetter. Koetter is being link to at least 7 openings right now. We live in the Twitter world where being FIRST is more important than being RIGHT. |

It's the rest of you that think Scott Pioli is making these calls tot he media to leak information that can easily be confirmed by a media member by simply CALLING SOMEONE ELSE. Does anyone really think someone like Jay Glazer just reports this willy-nilly without checking with someone from the Falcons? |
Quote:
I enjoy talking out the scenarios while we wait. I've made it clear that I hope he's NOT wasting his time interviewing Koetter. |

It's a known fact that every Chiefs rumor is leaked by Pioli to better his image.

Do you think if he called dimitroff and asked permission to interview those guys dimitroff would decline? Why? What would be TELLING is if we had reports of Clark being in ATLANTA actually interviewing them, which you said he was today. Where are these reports? Posted via Mobile Device |
I think it has more to do with the Media speculation. I don't think the media knows what is going on and they are just throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just hope he hires a good coach? |
Quote:
How many times in the history of the NFL has there been a report of an interview immediately after the fact? You act as if Clark's going to hold a press conference every time he interviews someone. Some of you just have trust issues with the media, I guess. |
Quote:
With that said, neither Dirk Koetter nor the ST coach of the Falcons meet the criteria that Clark spoke of yesterday on his PR trip around town. |
I think Hunt is telling the truth. I think if Pioli stays, it will only be for 1 more year. Think of all of the dynasty teams...they were all lead by coaches who had full control of their team.
I think, or I would at least like to hope that this is the direction we're going....maybe it has a lot to do with contact fulfillment. Does Hunt have to pay Pioli an "early termination fee"? Bring in a coach to have full control. Have Pioli do the paper work and ride out his contract. |
Quote:
He'll lose the fanbase. |
Aren't your hands tired from all the wringing at this point? There is absolutley no point to wondering whether Clark is lying; he's going to so what he's going to do regardless of the nasally, high-pitched worrying that goes on on the internet.
