Question about Eric Berry
So did he tear his ACL after the Stevie Johnson hit? If so why did they allow him to come back and try to play only for him to go down the next play?
|
The real question is does EB prefer shag carpet; or no carpet whatsoever.
|
I wonder if he porks fat chicks when no one is looking.
|
Good question.
One theory I recall was that the hit caused a stretch in the tissue and it snapped moments later. Not that it's true, but seems possible. |
I have always thought that they didn't know what the **** they were doing, and that he had a partial tear and then made it worse and tore it completely on the next snap.
It's a hallmark of of teams wtih "Parcellsian virtues." |
Cassel called him a pussy and told him to walk it off.
|
There is no way to know for certain that there is a tear without an MRI.
Some people have a higher level of pain tolerance than others, and it may not have felt that it was all that bad initially for Berry. It wasn't until the night after I tore my ACL (in two different places) that I felt that there was anything wrong. |
There are no questions about Eruk Burry.
Understand this or die by trident... |
Eric Berry is a tough SOB and wanted to get back in it. I hope he can come back to 100% and not have to second guess anything. Then our defense will truly dominate.
|
Is this a serious question?

Well, examine the evidence.
Berry got hurt on one play. They took him out and examined him. He went back out and immediately got hurt even worse. The school of thought our coaching staff comes from has always emphasized getting out on the field if you aren't seriously injured. They made the judgment call he could play on that knee. It was pretty obvious he couldn't. I think they ****ed up. Wouldn't be the first time. |

That is their job. |
LMAO
More nonsense from the resident drama queen. |

You pimped that HC. SUCK MY ****... |
I didn't want or pimp Haley.
I was OK with the hire, gave him a chance, and was pleased with the progress we were making until the middle of 2010, when things started to go south. |

It's as valid as any other opinion I can't rule any of this out. Those were the actual events. And it's of his opinion that he thinks they ****ed up. I don't get your argument |

I tore my ACL in a wreck racing BMX, when I went to get back on the bike for the next Moto my leg buckled.
Stevie's hit did it! |

It didn't take an MD to see that Berry hurt his knee on the initial play.

I agree though... he should have at the very least been pulled from the game even if it only was a SD Hyper-Extention. |
Quote:
He was injured. He came off the field. He convinced them he was okay to go and they let him try it. He was not okay to go. This stuff happens with other teams. Its not like they ignored a concussion. |

They didn't do their job. |

Remember when Rivers tore his ACL?
He played on it. |
Full Stadium full of people cheering, opening day, being a stud all your life, adrenaline pumping. this stuff can happen.

So, here we are -- discussing an NFL player on a multi billion dollar team and somebody suggests they hold him out the game for a sore knee with no swelling.
No, Wendler. Just no. It's likely Berry's input put him back on the field for another play more than any other person's input during his eval. |
Quote:
Not what the player says. His knee was not "sore," either. Classic Parcellsian bullshit. GET YOUR ASS OUT THERE, YOU CAN WALK! |

Of course |

You don't need confirmation. If you even suspect the knee is not solid, you should not allow the player back on the field. Especially a player like Berry. Colossal ****up, but expected from our staff considering the history. |

**** off you ****ing dipshit homer. |
Don't we have an MRI machine at Arrowhead? Seems like a simple thing to chuck him in the machine and get a result. Better safe than sorry when dealing with a potential stud who happens to be a 1st rd pick. Especially the first game of the season.

Sometimes Clay, you're just a ****ing idiot.
This is one of those times. |

Can you tell me which other player Bill Parcells, or any disciple injured by sending him out to play? |
Remember when Stafford seperated his non-throwing shoulder vs. Cleveland?
During the stoppage of play and a time out he convinced the trainers he could go. This is how it is. |

This is a stupid argument. And if you believe Stevie's hit blew the ACL, then its a really stupid ****ing argument. |

I do believe that Stevie's hit caused the initial damage and going back on the field finished the job. |
None of you people know shit.
Reality check complete. Carry on. |
I avoided this thread even though I had no idea what it was about because I knew it would be pure aids.
When will I learn to listen to my inner-voice? |

The thing is, medical professionals aren't perfect and sometimes just have to go with the player. Its entirely possible Stevie's hit only tore it partially and when he cut, it tore the rest of the way. Who knows? Clay is on his 'I hate everything about the Chiefs mantra', so he's fishing for something negative. |
I don't have to fish for negative things. Our ocean is FULL of negative shit. We're swimming in a sea of FAIL.

And Berry should have been removed because of that. |

Players play thru pain and injuries all the time. Quit being a ****ing drama queen about this and realize that fact. |
Quote:
To argue that there is/was no merit to sitting him for the rest of the game and getting an MRI before putting him back out on the field is asinine. The docs seemingly made a bad decision and put him back out. I would much rather have had him sit for 6 weeks vs missing the whole season. |
Quote:
That is why training staffs have authority to deny them the field to protect themselves in that event. Our trainers didn't give a **** because of a mandate from the coaching staff that you better get your ass out there if you can walk. |

Their job is to protect the players, not let the players decide if they want to play. |

If I'm not mistaken, the discussion here isn't about other injuries on other players and how they grit through them. We are talking about Berry's knee, again... a weight bearing joint, being obviously damaged as seen by Berry dropping and writhing in pain. Also, if you look at his next play, he drops like a sack without a single person touching him. He put weight on his knee and buckled and went sideways. If that alone is not enough to show you that he should not have been allowed back on the field... I dunno what will. I don't attribute this injury to anything more than Berry trying to beast through the injury and his docs making the wrong call on letting him back out. He should definitely been pulled from the game and sent off for an MRI. |
Quote:
It happens on good teams, too. Clearly Parcells had good teams and the Patriots have been good. But very obviously it can blow up in your face if you don't have a very good team, and your team lacks depth. We got the ****ing runts of the litter from Piggy Parcells' coaching tree and Eric Berry payed the price. |

A partial tear that you rest and allow it to heal on it's own is simply allowing scar tissue to build around the tear. A world class athlete will lose far more flexibility and strength than he (or she) can afford to lose and still compete at the same high level. Whether Berry tore the ACL partially and then completed the tear when he returned to the field, or he tore it fully on the Johnson hit (a more likely scenario), the end result would be exctly the same. Berry was going to have to have it surgically repaired, regardless, and you guys are bitching about nothing. |
Great, another completely worthless piece of shit thread started by a ****ing moran and continued by another moran.
Ban both the ****ing idiots please. This place would be much better without either one of them and the fact is, no need to mention either by name. |
Why is it that someone always has to be to blame. Shit happens! Deal with it.

I tore my ACL playing softball last July. I finished the game and still ran to first base before i'd sub in a runner. You can run in a straight line, but making cuts/turns are damn near impossible. More than likely, he tore it on the hit, and noticed in the next play that he had no stability.....I believe he also stated that in an article somewhere.
|
At any rate, he is back for this season & that gives us something to look forward too for his return. He got hurt tried to play on it but it didn't hold up & we lost him for the year. Time to focus on his return. He is back for this season & I'm thinking he won't miss a beat and now it's time for him to rock and roll along side Kendrick Lewis. I am stoked!

He just said he'd leave for a yr if they won 10. |
Literally one of the hallmarks of an ACL tear is that a lot of people don't realize it's a serious injury until their leg breaks down on them a little while later. How someone can watch sports for more than like a week without learning that is ****ing beyond me.
|
Josh Chapman of Alabama played most of last year with a torn ACL.
Other than that, Milkman posted exactly what I was gonna. |
