Yesterday, My Daughter Entered the World to the Sound of...

Yesterday, at 10:58 am, my 2nd daughter was born. As she exited the birth canal, the world welcomed her to sounds of....... (drumroll).....................

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/...oswaff/118.jpg

Skip Bayless giving Tim Tebow a verbal BJ on First Take. :) Go figure. Notice the clock still says 10:52... they were still going on about this at 10:58.

http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...83745014_n.jpg

It's ok though, my fiancee and daughter are doing very well.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/...oswaff/136.jpg

And I couldn't be any happier.

Btw, we named her Phaedra. I heard that name in this song:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Sb-SVPJM4L4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

How do ya'll like the name?

Yeah, I had my dad bring some Selsun Blue to the hospital because my beard was itchy as hell. I don't grow it very fastly...that's like 3-4 weeks of growth... I'm shaving it when I get home.

Awesome! Our ladies appear to have the same style goin' on with the hair and being brunettes and all.

I did get her to dress in Chiefs apparel for the 2010 Chiefs vs. 49ers game 1 month before she gave birth to our first daughter (although unfortunately you can't see the arrowhead on the jersey she is wearing in this pic):

http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4049018_n.jpg

So maybe there is hope for her still. I did convert her into a Cardinals baseball fan... I literally told her that if she continued to root for the Cubs, we may have problems.......

Now why do I get the feeling this is going to turn into a "Whose fiance is hotter?" contest?

Thanks dude! I appreciate it!

Yeah, my fiancee is really into sports. She follows NFL, MLB and NASCAR of all things....I can't get into NASCAR. She was a die-hard Steelers, minimal Cubs fan converting into a Cardinals fan.... 3 and half years later, she doesn't follow the Steelers that much...in fact she knows more about the Chiefs just from hearing me talk about them all the time. But she is a DIE-HARD Cardinals fan now. She knows just as much or more about the Cards as I do now... if she can't find the game on TV, she is watching it on ESPN Gamecast with her phone.

Oh...and she's an Earnhardt Jr. fan.

And she likes NASCAR? I mean we can trade if you want, I'm offer still stands lol. That's bad ass, inhave to hear the same shit every time a race comes on "I hate NASCAR you're a fat redneck" or some stupid shit like that. There's nothing wrong about a guy bragging about his fiancé and you my friend have a very good one.

I'm a Carl Edwards fan myself, but I'll root for Dale this Sunday on behalf of your newborn. I'm sure she'd be stoked if he won.

Mediapolis? We used to spank the boys from there at District and State track meets. Guess they thought they were the fastest white boys in the state until they ran into us. They still have a solid track program?

Congrats on the kid - and the fiance. Some people do it in reverse order but whatever.

Way to go!

rico 05-24-2012 11:36 PM

Thanks again, everyone! I'll have to spread some more rep around when the 24 hrs. is up because I've evidently spread too much on this thread.

Phobia: I am a Mepo dude, born, raised and reside there currently. In town, my last name is pretty much synonymous with wrestling. We had some fast dudes in the 90's. We had a really good 4X100 relay team one year... Aaron Egbert was the primary reason for this. He was a multiple state champ in track and a total freak of an athlete. Track was pretty consistently good until about 2003... and they were pretty off and on until this year... I believe they had a relay team that won state this year. My bro, who was a 2003 grad placed in a couple events in high school...all long distance. He was also a high school wrestling state champ and 3 time state finalist. I have two other bros who are 13 and 15...the 13 year old is a freakishly good athlete. Great football player (CB and RB), good at baseball, will be good when he goes out for track next year and won his 4th Iowa grade school state title in wrestling this year. Not sure if ya'll have heard of the Brands twins who wrestled for Iowa and did well on the National/Olympic circuit, but Brennan wrestled Terry's son, Nelson a couple times this year, one time beating him 18-3 at state. He got beat once this year by a kid named Gable Sieperda... Sieperda was obviously named after Dan Gable. Wrestling fanatic parents in Iowa are die-hard....they name their kids after legendary wrestlers such as Gable and have their kids wrestle 100+ matches per year. Even while my bros are competing in other sports, they are hitting wrestling practices throughout the week as well. Heck, there is an Iowa youth wrestling forum that many people (including myself) post on regularly. My 15 year old brother is doing well too... placed at state for the 2nd year straight.

I probably rambled too much, but I never thought anyone on here would know anything about Mepo, so it pumped me up. I don't know why I had to go on the wrestling tangent. As the oldest of 4 brothers, I am obviously very proud of all of them and as the father of 2 baby girls, I am very proud of them as well.

Phobia 05-24-2012 11:47 PM

I always liked seeing Mepo's orange because I knew it was gonna be a fight. One year they beat us in 4x100/4x200 at districts and we came back and won both events at state. Just a well known track program. Sorry I can't join in your passion for wrestling. I prefer to roll around sweating on a mattress with females.

Lol, no need to be sorry, I hear that all the time. Yeah, whichever year that was, I probably watched that Mepo team and possibly your team at districts. My mom is a big track fan and used to take me to track events all the time growing up.. I graduated in 2001, so I watched a lot of the big meets from about 1993 until 2003. Mepo is real well known for their 1970's girls basketball teams.

I didn't think it was likely that anyone on here would know anything about the microscopic town I was born, raised and currently reside in. 2A Iowa High Schools, represent!

Lol, not to mention, a lot of it was me, blabbing about wrestling, in which Phobia does not have the same passion for. In real life it would have resembled this (only I'm a dude, not an African American woman....and I was blabbing about Iowa wrestling):
