I truely regret having had my back surgery. I have more pain now than ever in my hip and back whereas it used to be mostly in my leg.

I talked to the surgeon last week about it and he said I went back to work to soon and he wished I could find a different line of work, he said the kind of work I do that I will probably always have pain cause I keep it inflamed. He said he moved around tendons and ligaments and muscle and removed a large herniation and I went back to work before it had time to heal.

I cannot change jobs and even when I finish school the work is still hard manual labor.

I don't know what to do....I had hopes of being better after surgery and now its worse than ever.:shake:

If I had the luxury of not working I may heal one day, but thats not an option as its not for most of us.

Doctors kinda just suck.

Physical therapy. I will work wonders if (and only if) you stay with it.

disability? if your pain is that bad your doc should have no problems signing the papers.

Ask him for a routine of stretches you can do and do them religously. Backs take a long time to heal. Up to two years. When I had my back fused I felt relief as soon as I woke in recovery. Hopefully you will get to a level of pain you can live with that was better than before. Stretches and strength exercises are the key now. And maybe some painkillers.

absolutely not. As long as I can function I will work. Nothing against it if its absolutely necessary, but as long as you can work I think you need to.

Pay for what? My insurance paid 100 percent which includes therapy and all the post visits to the Dr. I only had to pay 100.00 co-pay.

5 weeks of PT is nothing. Absolutely nothing.

If you've had back surgery, you need years of PT. Literally. If, that is, you want to live relatively pain free.

yes thats the reason for the surgery, thats almost exactly what I told my dr. I just want to live a normal life where I can get up and have a pain free day. shit at least before surgery I did have a day here and there that I didn't hurt, not any more its everyday now.

Its different kind of pain it used to be burning and pain in my right leg, the burning was awful. This pain I now have in my hip feels like someone has a pry bar in my hip socket prying it apart, and my back aches like a tooth ache. the burning is not completely gone. The surgeon said it was nerve damage.

Will what return me close to normal life? You mean the surgery I had and the PT afterward? No its worse than before surgery. I wish to God I had never had it.

Get a 2nd opinion.:cuss: Before living with it.

Nope I have the net at home, had to for school..I just have to much to do through the week. Hey lets go wake up these patients cause when I go to do it at 4:30 am its not early enough, if they wake up they ring out if they need me and I go look in on them once an hour to make sure they are ok. Lab wakes them up at 4:00am to draw blood and I start my round at 4:30, maybe I should go in and shake them every hour also. I bet you would love that if you were in the hospital and got woke up every 5 min.

I go to school 35 hours a week and work 36 hours a week then study and sleep, don't have much time for either one.

Wasn't this discussed before the surgery? Sounds like that bit of information would be pretty damn important.

I worked about 48-60 hours a week before surgery then after I was released I started school which was also part of my decision to go ahead with surgery before school started. Now I only work Fri, sat and Sun 12 hour shifts and go to school Mon-fri from 8am to 3pm.

I'm not the vapid ****ing **** insulting others and begging for attention and sympathy. cry me a ****ing river, clitnose.

So, he originally said you wouldn't be able to work or whatever for 9 weeks, you followed those orders, he gave you the okay to go back to work, and now he's telling you that you went back too early? :spock:

Yes he said I would be off 9-12 weeks he released me after I had been off for 9 weeks, now he is saying it was to early. The hospital would not have let me come back until i was released, he said maybe I could come back on light duty and I told him there was no light duty for me on nightshift so he said I could come back without restrictions which is what he wrote on my release. NOW he says it was actually to early to have come back..

OH GOD now I will lose sleep tomorrow worried about the hell you think of me. Who gives a shit what you think of me, I don't give a rats ass what the like of you thinks.

Yes I wish he had done that to. I couldn't have came back to work without a release from the dr. If he had said its to early and ot said I could go back I would have had to choice but to stayed off longer, but he let me come back and just messed up what he fixed to start with.

Yep it hurts, thats the only bad thing going on in my life right now. So, what else you gotta say? Let it all out. Who cares.

If you're doctor is saying he released you too soon, go get a second opinion and build a case for malpractice. With medical negligence, you can also go for pain and suffering.
