Seattle is absolutely slaying the draft
 

Since we're apparently not allowed to question the Executive of the Decade, I thought I'd talk about some of the winners this far in the draft.

Seattle, by a large margin, has won the draft. They've turned their picks into this:

Leon Washington
Anthony McCoy

Apparently, Pete Carrol didn't need an evaluation year to improve his football team. And he still has picks to work with.


Philly is killing it as well.

The Chiefs won the draft two years ago.

****....they got Lendale White for a SWAP of 4th and 6th round picks. They didn't even have to give a pick up for him.

And if Pioli hadn't come along to kill the value of that draft, it would be ready to really pay dividends this year.

Yeah. I've been saying on my facebook page how great Seattle's draft has been. I'm excited about the direction they're heading in.

Oakland has done very well, as has Detroit, and of course, Baltimore.

Detroit got Jason Fox, who I think can play LT for them.

You know I've been pimping Fox for months.

Lions are going to start rising.

I was scratching my head over Detroit not getting an OT earlier, but they apparently knew exactly what they were doing. Mayhew is not ****ing around.

Give the Lions our schedule, and they make the playoffs, IMO.

I often wonder if on some random Seattle/Rams/Detroit/Bucs board there is a thread called:

With about about 3000 other threads complaing about how their team blew the draft??

The Fox selection makes the Best selection much, much better.

I think that they now have every piece, save for a shut down corner and a true terror off the edge.

Oakland is a sleeper in this division next year.

The rest NFC West should be scared to death if they think Carrol can coach well.

Pete is just building his squad like a college all-star team. im still scratchin my head over whitehurst but DAMN

There's nothing more important in personnel than common ****ing sense.

Pioli has way too much Tony LaRussa in him.

Yeah. The only questionable pick was the Iupati selection, IMO.

Because of their Draft Picks?


I'd give them 2 years and if some of their picks work out I would make that statement.


Very few draft picks make a big difference on their team year 1.

Because of their last two drafts and offseason moves.

I think that Best, Suh, and Fox will all be Day 1 starters for them.

Add in Corey Williams, Rob Sims, Nate Burleson, another year of maturation for Stafford, and wow.

Drafting smart the last two years is going to pay huge dividends in the upcoming years.

Once they got off their WR fetish and drafted a possible franchise QB they finally got going the right direction.

The Sims trade is still mind-numbing, though.

People will call Suh a bust after his first year. Nobody seems to understand that DT's take a couple of years to adjust to the NFL.

Well, if he gets all-pros at 5-6 positions, they should be able to field a competitive defense.

However, with a solid defensive mind in charge of things, as they have in Jim Shwartz, he isn't the huge liability that he was with the Chiefs under Dick and Herman ****ing Edwards.

He's a decent puppet.

Just don't remove the strings.

As for Shwartz, he's true to his word.

I'm just wondering why Schwartz and Carroll didn't need an evaluation year to improve their roster through the draft and FA.

Because they forgot to follow the process and look for the right 53.

They must visit "Seahawks Planet" often.

Yeah, Schwartz sure had it all figured out last year.

Overall wins up by 2...with a ridonkulously talented WR and QBOTF...just like the Chiefs.

Sometimes, I think teams would do better by putting a poll on their site and letting the fans vote for the pick while they're on the clock...

For the TE reach, i started pulling my butt hair.

I agree...Okung / Thomas and Tate is a pretty nice 1,2,3 punch ...And that isn't even including the rest of their pickups....Each of their 1st three picks was a dagger in my heart.
