He was a great player until he left Philly. I always hated him though.

When I lived in pennsylvania I used to get Sixers games on cable. I wanted to like him because he went to Georgetown and I had just moved from DC, so I watched a bunch of Sixers games. To me, he made the games boring. It was like everything had to funnel through Iverson. It seemed like guys just passed the ball around for a few seconds, didn't want to shoot because they wanted Iverson to have the ball, and then just gave it back to Iverson and he would drive the lane and either get fouled or put up a shot. I just never thought it was any fun to watch.

One of the best little men to ever play the game. Absolutely fearless.
Phenomenal player and will eventually be enshrined in the Hall.
So long Illy Al...

I always admired his toughness. He played through a lot of injuries, and back in the day carried teams that had very weak supporting casts.
He never really figured out how to be a team player and have a diminished role on a team as he got older, though.

So?
The NBA is a boring ****ing joke.... Sucks to watch on TV, even more brutal in person...

I disagree. While the regular season leaves much to be desired, I love watching the playoffs. There are some amazing games come playoff time.

Never seen a game in person, but I would love to go to a OKC game when the Lakers are in town.

Quesadilla Joe 11-25-2009 06:50 PM

Good. I hated that little ball hog.

RJ 11-25-2009 06:55 PM

On the one hand, Iverson embodied everything I didn't like about the NBA. On the other hand, he was an incredibly talented player who was tough as nails when he wanted to be. Next stop, Springfield.

Went to an OKC game last friday night, was the worst experience of my life... I have never been more bored watching guys walk back and forth on a court and shoot.

The players were boring and lazy, so was the game... I will never get that 3 hours of my life back, ever.... I was praying for death...

I like the NBA, but regular season NBA before Christmas is pretty much crap. The season is too long.

Just a little too long I think they should shorten it by about 10-15 games, and start about a month or so later. The NBA and NHL starting in the middle football season makes me sick.

Who will have "The Answer" now?

I give it 3 months.

I have heard that the total NBA experience in OKC is nowhere near what it is in other NBA cities. They're still trying to figure it out down there from what i've read in columns and such.
