I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.

KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.

One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future.

Saul i think ksu is better then last year team. Plus coach martin prove he can coach this team.

I dunno Saully. The 3 point shooting was a brickfest. I think McGruder hit 3-3 and the rest were 2-15. I still worry about how well we'll shoot when the real bullets are flying.

Don't know if it changed today, but watching Friday's game showed this team is still more than capable of going stone cold for long stretches of time. Hope that improves.

It'll improve. The shots are there, just not falling. I'm really psyched about this teams bigs - these guys are long, they can move, alter shots - very impressive.

Next year - Freddy Asprilla, Wally Judge, Curtis Kelley..that is quite the imposing frontcourt.

I like Henriquez-Roberts. All his reports knocked him for being/playing weak, but thus far, against far inferior talent, he has shown an ability to block shots, something that we haven't seen in a while. He had a nice put-back also.

He's pretty raw, but give him 30 pounds of muscle and a year or two and he might be a real nice center.

BTW, is anyone else really impressed with Rodney McGruder? Kid looks like a great get and I can't wait to see what he looks like after getting some experience.

This is a game we would have lost in previous years due to a lack of depth. We played like absolute crap, and still beat a team with 8 Sr's. I'll take it.

Silver lining? KSU would never have lost this game previously due to lack of depth. Our Wooly talent would lost it anyway.

This team has been pretty sucky. Maybe playing Miss. will jolt them into reality.

As further proof that the Huggins/Martin hires are complete failure, Cats on TV outside of Kansas for the 2nd time in first 5 games(counting the 360 game). Wooly would have taken till the conference tournament to get that much exposure.
