Are the Chiefs the worst team in the NFL?

I think we are. We will be 0-8. Not a good 0-8 either. The next 4 games will be destruction.

Who will we draft with the number 1 over all pick?

Deberg_1990 09-20-2009 03:02 PM

If we are not the worst, we are bottom 3 at best.

Baby Lee 09-20-2009 03:03 PM

Currently? Without a doubt.
What I'm trying to decide is if they're the worst I've ever seen.

Fritz88 09-20-2009 03:04 PM

We are up there with the worst.

kcpasco 09-20-2009 03:04 PM

I'm still confused as to how some people are still surprised we suck this bad.

DaneMcCloud 09-20-2009 03:04 PM

This game brought me back to the late 70's, early 80's Chiefs.

Just ****ing bad everywhere.

And people jumped on my ass when I stated that there's a chance they could go 0-16.

Iowanian 09-20-2009 03:05 PM

I think the Chiefs vs Detroit ends in 80,000 suicides.

We'll have a top 3 pick for sure.

BigRedChief 09-20-2009 03:05 PM

Detriot is worse. But we are not out of the running yet.

Detroit might play as badly, but I think they're more talented.

C-Mac 09-20-2009 03:06 PM

I think the Titans are also 0-2....

Oakland and KC will play again to decide who drafts first

Sure.

I heard as a consolation for 0-16, the Chiefs get to play a UFL team.

So they'll likely finish 1-16.

We hope.

rolstrol 09-20-2009 03:08 PM

the bottom 3 from last year still seems like they are in the same order

Detroit, St. Louis and KC.

Losing to a team that had a QB playing for us during the same game.

Iowanian 09-20-2009 03:11 PM

I struggle to think the Chiefs could beat Iowa State this year.

Considering the Chiefs history of taking defensive ends with their last three top picks, I think it's safe to say DE.

Every team in the league is better in the trenches than us. That makes us the worst. We got beat by J. Russ in the 4th quarter. He's the worst QB in the league with the worst WR's in the league.

Sure there is always a chance that any team could go 0-16, but no team in the 50 year history of the NFL ever went 0-16...until last year. The odds of this happening again are immeasurable, therefore such comments become easily welcomed.

aturnis 09-20-2009 03:16 PM

Well, this team is better than Oakland. I think they showed that today. Killed themselves with penalties to end drives and to lengthen Raider drives. They were the better team today though.

I'm not sure, but they could be better than the Broncos AND Chargers too. The way we handled the Raiders today, after the way the Chargers struggled last week is encouraging. I guess we'll see if the Chargers really are that bad, or just had an off night. Broncos remain to be evaluated, but could be pretty shitty.

Plenty of other teams they could beat any given Sunday. We'll see.

4th and Long 09-20-2009 03:17 PM

Might as well go ahead and change our team logo now and get it over with.

I would effing LOOOOVE it. Sitcoms have been in the shitter since Arrested Development went off air.

They've proven themselves capable of playing well in isolated instances, and have equally proven themselves capable of butt****ing the football to happy ending.

It would be quite refreshing to see definitively which way Haley's gonna helm them, whatever way that turns out to be.

I've been saying this since before training camp.

Whitlock's going to have a field day with that comment.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-20-2009 04:10 PM

Let's be honest, it's pretty easy to hate the Chiefs. The team doesn't give a damn about its fans, it just milks the Arrowhead mystique and shucks and devours its denizens en masse.

Clark Hunt doesn't care about football, and I don't really think that Lamar did after about 1975. They seem pretty content to make money off of revenue sharing and attempt to make the occasional wave to peak fan interest, so the turnstiles will keep rotating. They just raped the taxpayers into funding the vast majority of their stadium renovations while putting out some of the worst products in any two+ (soon to be 3) year period in NFL history.

People conflate Lamar Hunt the renegade who started the AFL with Lamar Hunt, the satisfied multimillionaire who could sit back and reap the rewards from one game while frivolously pissing away money on his real sports-related passion.

The Chiefs fans should be treated as first class citizens to the Hunts, because they'd be financially ruined without them, but they're really second class. They have been very adept at hoodwinking their customers into believing that was true in the 1960's is true now.

The most ridiculous thing about the whole Hunt situation is that he invested $25,000 to start the Chiefs. It's not like he had to shell out $1 billion dollar franchise fee like the Texans owner or even $250 million like the Jags and Panthers.

$25,000.00.

These guys (Hunt, Brown, Wilson, Bud Adams) were businessmen. Period.

They saw an opportunity in the marketplace and exploited it.

And now, nearly all of them are billionaires.

If you told me I could invest $25k and 50 years later, it would be worth a billion dollars, I'd tell you to sign me up yesterday.

The Hunts would not be financially ruined without Chiefs fans. You are kidding yourself if you think the Chiefs are any more than a small part of the pie when it comes to the Hunt fortune. As with most owners the team is the fun investment. FYI...Clark is the Chairman of the Board and the majority owner. The Chiefs are owned by 5 different Hunts.

FringeNC 09-20-2009 05:29 PM

I must not have watched the same game as lot of other folks. We dominated the Raiders, and did what inexperienced teams often do -- gave the game away. Given that neither team is going anywhere, I'd much rather be the Chiefs than the Raiders, who got dominated at the LOS by a bad team.

How many times in the 48 games Herm Edwards coached here did we outgain a team by 250 yards? I'm guessing 3-4 times, if that. Sure, this loss hurt, but there are quite a few positives to take from it.

The Hunt's were rich BEFORE the Chiefs. The Chiefs are not worth billions of dollars, they are worth one billion, singular. Not to mention inflation, $25,000 in 1960 is roughly the equivalent of $178,000 today. That's a 18.9% growth rate, which is fantastic, I really wish I could get that, but anyway. The Chiefs will NOT be picking a QB. That's just silly. This is the first time Cassel has ever run this offense, his first game of the year, 16th of his career, while coming off of injury. He's going to be fine. Solidify the line and get some receivers and he'll be a damn good QB.

Dane, I think as bad as today was if KC would of made just one or two less mental mistakes they would have beaten the Raiders. Those are coachable issues that can be fixed. If you watched Haley's presser then you know he's already aware of the mistakes. I think you need to give the new staff time to get what is a very young team up to speed.

Well, that's all fine and dandy but we don't play the Raiders again for several months.

In the meantime, we have an absolutely brutal schedule ahead and the Chiefs could quite possibly play "perfect" games and lose big time.

They just don't have enough talent on the field this year to overcome the inevitable mistakes.

Well, it is what it is. KC can only be as good as their talent lets them be. As long as they're building an attitude and are coached well they'll surprise a few teams and win the games they're supposed to. It's a process. This franchise has been sucked dry of talent through just awful drafts.

Dude, you're preaching to the pastor.

I've been complaining about the Chiefs drafts on the 'Planet for years. I've been saying since 2007 that the roster has been depleted of talent. I've been countering people who told me that guys like Kevin Samson and Will Svittek and Tre Stallings "just needed time".

This roster is the least talented in the NFL and it's going to take a few years, at best, before they've got guys that can take over a game and WIN.
