Nnamdi Asomugha

I just heard a fairly long discussion with this guy on the Sirius NFL channel.

Have any of you ever heard this guy speak? Wow, he is a pleasure to listen to.

Not once, did he say "you know." He is a very bright guy, and knows what is going on.

I am not saying this because is a free agent, and want the Chiefs to pick him up.

Just that after hearing most of these guys and wanting to puke, he is a real pleasant change. If you get a chance, listen to him.

kysirsoze 01-16-2009 03:42 PM

I've heard him on JRIB. he was a good interview unlike most athletes.

dirk digler 01-16-2009 03:42 PM

I would love for the Raiders not to franchise him and the Chiefs to get him. The guy is one of the best and he is young

The Franchise 01-16-2009 03:42 PM

I'd love to pick him up....but he's going to want a huge deal and CBs really aren't our biggest need right now.

kysirsoze 01-16-2009 03:43 PM

I don't see the even the Raiders letting him go. You never know with Davis though.

Buck 01-16-2009 03:43 PM

Didn't he go to Stanford or Cal-Berkley, on of them there "smart" schools?

OnTheWarpath15 01-16-2009 03:43 PM

He spent one day this week with NFL Network. Seems like a good guy.

The Raiders HAVE to franchise him, though.

He's one of the few young talented players they have.

Fritz88 01-16-2009 03:44 PM

You know, I like him because he's like, like, really, awesome. You know.

CaliforniaChief 01-16-2009 03:45 PM

The leadership of the Raiders would have to be clinically insane in order to....oh....um, never mind.

Sfeihc 01-16-2009 03:49 PM

He went to Bezerkley and he's the Raiders best player by far. IMHO, he deserves a contract > than Samuels' deal with Philly.

It would be interesting to see their cap situation. As you know, when you franchise somebody you have to be able to keep the one year tender as part of the salary cap. I would imagine that's probably around $12 mil a year to franchise a CB. With some of their braindead re-signings and high draft picks lately, I believe they have alot of money tied up.

Listening to him, I kept saying, "who is this guy?"

Wait, they are always drafting high, aren't they loaded with talent?

Rooster 01-16-2009 04:29 PM

I saw him on NFL Network a few day ago. He is a refreshing change of pace from the usual. He is not Faider material.

Hootie 01-16-2009 04:44 PM

this is kind of off-topic, since it's NBA...but listen to Jamaal Crawford...oh my god is that guy a great interview...intelligent, politically correct...he's one smart dude.

Buehler445 01-16-2009 06:47 PM

I've always wondered what in the blue **** he was doing on the Fade. He seems classy, isn't dirty, and is not reeruned.

penchief 01-16-2009 07:04 PM

Yeah, I heard him on Sirius and was really impressed. He has a career after he's done with football.

88TG88 01-16-2009 07:20 PM

His whole family went to schools like Harvard and Yale. I saw a piece about him helping out Bay Area kids. Sounds like a solid dude, he's the exact opposite of a typical Raider.

with deangelo hall and NA that would be alot in cb's alone

RealSNR 01-16-2009 08:35 PM

Pat Surtain and LJ for Asomugha.

Make it happen, Carl!

err... Scott

kobebehar 01-16-2009 08:59 PM

Colquitt and Asomugha... now that's a foundation to build a team around.

Valiant 01-16-2009 09:05 PM

Would love to have him on the Chiefs.. But alas, we are decent enough there and have much more concerns elsewhere...

Now if he wants to come here for a cheaper contract then what he deserves, then hell yes.. But he is smart and I doubt convincing him of KC's cost of living is going to be enough..

unothadeal 01-16-2009 09:40 PM

He could learn a thing or two from J-Marc

Best cover corner that many fans have never heard of.

No sane organization would let him go, but we are talking about the Raiders here.

LOL, and some think Hackett might make him a better QB?? That guy's brain is a box of rocks.. Some agent or friend will have him bankrupt in 3 years..

KCwolf 01-16-2009 10:20 PM

Asomugha is one of the Best in the NFL.....it will cost a bundle....and we have the the money.

Well, that explains a lot of the Raiders offensive struggles...can you imagine trying to decipher what this guy is saying in the huddle?
