Is Chan gonna save Herm's job?

At this point I see us winning a few games in the second half. Our offense is too good. This is terrible.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-09-2008 03:41 PM

YES!! YES!! Chan, you STUD!!

Mr. Plow 11-09-2008 03:43 PM

I'm torn. I like to see us playing the way we are, but if we continue this trend, Herm will be around longer.

dallaschiefsfan 11-09-2008 03:45 PM

Don't worry...Herm will let Chan roam freely until the last few minutes of a close game...then he'll demand conservative and play to not lose...and promptly lose. We play enough of those games, it gives us hope for what COULD be while reminding everyone why Herm is an idiot.

Buehler445 11-09-2008 03:47 PM

Herm was staying anyway.

Rain Man 11-09-2008 03:47 PM

Edwards will screw it up somehow. dallaschiefsfan has it right..

And Squirmin Herman ****ing sack of bullshit **** Edwards still won't get fired.

milkman 11-09-2008 03:51 PM

Not only is Herm ****ing Edwards an idiot, but, according to you, Thigpen sucks, so it's not possible for the Chiefs to win with him at QB.

Jawshco 11-09-2008 03:52 PM

Perish the thought, but you're right...Chan + Thigpen to Bradley/Bowe/Gonzo, might actually win us a couple more games then we need to win right now.

But, I have to admit....I'd rather go down swinging than hope for a high draft pick. We'd just screw up a #1 one pick anyway...

That's what I'm thinking. Just think how bad it had to get before Herm let Gailey do his job. We didn't even have a chance to win with the previous offense because we basically started the game down two touchdowns. Well, as long as this offense is putting the Chiefs in a spot to win games, Herm isn't going to change his 4th quarter philosophy... he'll give up control of the first 3 quarters, but he'll screw up some leads with his 50/50 philosophy, which will make it clear who has to go at the end of the season.

This is why I was hoping we would just fire Herm a few weeks ago... give the players several weeks under Gailey's offense. As long as he has control of it, it's not unacceptable that Herm's here through the end of the season... and then we can kick his ass to Syracuse to coach with Grob.

the Talking Can 11-09-2008 03:54 PM

great, now i have to kill myself and everyone else in the Belt Buckle at the mall......

You talking to me? I'm rooting for Thiggy!

dallaschiefsfan 11-09-2008 03:59 PM

Herm's horrible track record with team injuries (be it conditioning or poor f'ing luck) is enough of a reason to forget ANYTHING good that happens the rest of the season. Charles is questionable to return now?!? Where's Bam Morris?

No.

Claythan.

Halfcan 11-09-2008 04:03 PM

Our Offense is too good???

We are ranked like 26th in the NFL. Maybe 15 points a game.

dallaschiefsfan 11-09-2008 04:03 PM

And add Pat Thomas and Donnie Edwards to that injury list...

eazyb81 11-09-2008 04:17 PM

So when the hell is LJ coming back? I want to see what this offense looks like with him in the backfield.

eazyb81 11-09-2008 04:18 PM

By the way, I'm as cynical as anyone on here, but Thigpen is really looking good.

Hammock Parties 11-09-2008 04:22 PM

This shit has to stop. This arena-league bullshit.

RustShack 11-09-2008 04:23 PM

Chan and Gailey have saved Herm. If they keep playing this way and we lose every game still Herm still has a job.

Uh, no ****ing way.

FringeNC 11-09-2008 04:29 PM

Thigpen is putting up numbers and we are scoring. It's not the fluke way like we have moved the ball in the past with Huard throwing ducks and guys making great catches. Thigpen is hitting guys with darts in stride.

This change in philosophy and results on offense is simply amazing. After as bad as we looked with the butt sex offense, we completely de-Hermify, and look good.

If Herm Edwards becomes a complete figurehead and has no input on offense....he may be able to keep an NFL job.

Hammock Parties 11-09-2008 04:35 PM

We have 236 gat damn yards at halftime.

**** THIS SHIT

Basileus777 11-09-2008 04:40 PM

Herm was never going to be fired this season anyway, Hunt gave him a free pass for a year.

MichaelH 11-09-2008 04:40 PM

Here's an idea. Maybe Gailey is after Hermie's job.

Coach 11-09-2008 04:56 PM

Nah, the way the _efense is playing, he'll get fired. Or should, since his MO is defense, and we haven't seen any improvement.

Hammock Parties 11-09-2008 04:59 PM

OK, one drive, one punt.

So far we are on track for our standard 3-pt second half.

He won't get the shitcan. Though he needs to. For more reasons than the _fense.

Hammock Parties 11-09-2008 05:07 PM

Another punt. The Thigpen train is derailing!

DaneMcCloud 11-09-2008 05:37 PM

Herm's job is NOT in jeopardy

alanm 11-09-2008 05:44 PM

2nd half 0 points. :spock:

ceebz 11-09-2008 06:26 PM

Third game in a row where the Chiefs go into a shell once they get a small lead. Chan can burn in hell along with herm.

whoman69 11-09-2008 06:56 PM

To me not being embarrassed in games is only slightly more comfort than still losing.

And either is us in being competitive in the AFC West...

We will always be in the bottom of the league with Herm.

Therefore we deserve to suck and will continue to suck when suck is leading this team.

cdcox 11-09-2008 07:23 PM

I'm holding out hope for losing out and Clark Hunt being a man of his word.

blueballs 11-09-2008 07:25 PM

so if Thigpen continues to grow
and Herm still gets canned
do they go Spurrier -booooo

ncCHIEFfan 11-09-2008 08:59 PM

I thought we were trying to build a solid team, not consistantly try to find a reason to fire the coaching staff

Herm has to go if we are to build a solid team. Actually, the talent is there. We just need to better coaching and development.

Our Defense hasn't seen any improvement since the Bengals torched us back in 03.

Where's the talent at middle linebacker? Where's the rush DE? Where's the nickelback? Where's the Right Guard? Where's the Right Tackle? Where's the talent at OLB (besides DJ)?

Where's the depth?

The TALENT on the roster is TALENT drafted and coached by this coaching staff (Thigpen, Albert, Taylor, Turk, Tank, Dorsey, Niswanger, Smith, Charles, Flowers & Carr).

The Chiefs are lacking talent at nearly every position where they haven't drafted in the past 2 years.

You're like a broken record.

You constantly complain about the performance of the coach yet when the coaching staff have improved the players they've acquired (i.e. Thigpen), you give absolutely no credit where credit is due.

WTF?

I gave a ton a credit to Gailey for putting in gameplans that are putting Thigpen into situations where he is successful...

You gave a very vague post here. You talk about "the performance of the coach" then "the coaching staff"? Which is it?

Gailey is making strides with this offense despite Herm screwing it up for the first 5 weeks of the season.

Man this is a good post to reply to! Maybe if I get time later, I want to rebuttal this....
