Homer Glasses Are On: This is a Sneak Up Game

I think New England is looking past us. And I think the rookies are going to come out strong, Brodie is going to impress. We'll scrap out a win somehow. It just a feeling I have.

That, or the Arby's sauce from earlier tonight is kicking in....

God I hope so, Id be thrilled with a decent showing.

Bugeater 09-04-2008 10:14 PM

Didn't we already do this thread?

Nightfyre 09-04-2008 10:26 PM

The Arby's Sauce demanded that we do it again! And sacrifice a bull and roast him, turn him into sandwiches x5 for $5.55. It virtually guarantees a win. It's science.

Maybe after we lost to Oakland at home next weekend.

Karma works that way.

If we won I absolutely would not complain one iota as long as we fired Herm and Carl too.

Mecca 09-04-2008 11:23 PM

I don't think anyone looks past the first game of the season.

MIAdragon 09-04-2008 11:57 PM

N E did in 03, when they got stomped by the Bills 33-0 IIRC.

Hammock Parties 09-04-2008 11:59 PM

I'm tellin' ya. I got a feelin.' The last time I had this feeling, we went to Indianapolis last year and lost by 3 points. Everyone thought we would get blown the **** out. We didn't.

This year there's no Solari... :hmmm:

Phobia 09-05-2008 12:17 AM

Marty, you should apply for a spot on Nick's podcast.

chiefs1111 09-05-2008 12:23 AM

You got to watch out for that Arby's sauce man ,it can be dangerous sometimes.

Marty Mac Ver 2.0 09-05-2008 12:27 AM

Now why in god's name do you want me to punish myself. :)

Isn't the Arby's kickback enuff?
:fart: :fart:

I've been on that infamous podcast. It's quite a production, I'm telling ya.

Marty Mac Ver 2.0 09-05-2008 12:44 AM

I've been enjoying my sabbatical away from football journalism. Even sat out from this year's World Championship of Fantasy Football Event (www.wcoff.com) in Vegas this year.

There is a part of me that yearns to jump back into this stuff full time, however.

If the Chiefs lose by 30 or less, I'll be impressed

I'm doing high school coverage. It's 1000x better than the NFL. Really.

<s>Mecca</s> Some would be complaining about how winning games does nothing but hurt our draft position.

It does at the end of the year......would you have rather the Chiefs beat the Jets and missed Dorsey?

SSDD

cabletech94 09-05-2008 05:31 AM

Remember when you could get 5 arby's sandwiches for 5 bucks. Man, those were the days!!!!!

That 55 cents is just a killer.

StcChief 09-05-2008 05:46 AM

at this point our best hope is a nor-easter during the game

DUDE the Arby's in Sidrock has those goddamned things at $6.95! I hate that goddamned worthless ****ing abortion of a restaurant. Jesus ****ing christ, one time I waited 22 minutes and 14 seconds for our meal. I know this because I was watching the monitor with our order on it for the last 10 minutes. Moreover they have the most toothless, worthless, maybe even soulless ****ups to man this store. GODDAMN IT I HATE THE SIDNEY ARBY'S [/rant]

People would be demanding #1 in the Power Rankings, we'd be off to the playoffs, rebuilding would be officially complete...... and then we'd lose to Oakland and we'd be the worst team ever again. Rinse and repeat.

ROFL

In all seriousness, if we keep it within 21 points, I'll be impressed.

Micjones 09-05-2008 10:37 AM

We have nothing to lose here... well...except the game.
The pressure's on New England. I don't know how we win this game without playing completely over our heads, but I suppose anything is possible.

You are right Mic, we have nothing to lose. Unfortunately, instead of firing these kids up and going out aggressively like we have nothing to lose, Herm will sit back in soft coverage, run draw plays and check downs because [Herm]You can't turn the ball over against a veteran team like this. They're veterans and they're good football players[/Herm].

So instead of blitzing the hell out their gimpy QB, getting physical with their receivers, taking shots down the field at their crappy secondary, we're gonna sit back and not give up the big play and not turn the ball over. Annnnnnnnd its gonna suck.

i was talking to someone at the bar who said we don't have a chance in this game. I said laughing yeah you are probably right but I'll tell you these are the games we usually some how pull off. When no one thinks we can and guys there is no pressure on the chiefs in this one. Now I'm not saying we will I'm just saying you never know.

That's because I started the thread, I have a fair record at starting Official game-threads. 0-1. But it was close.
